Thanks for the new thread unescorted
Have had a lovely day with friends. Roast pork was perfect & the "self-saucing" chocolate orange pudding was out of this world!
Spent money on a couple of drinks out and on a couple of things I forgot to buy yesterday, but pretty good all told.

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/11/2021 19:48

Thanks unescorted

rrhuth · 28/11/2021 20:02

I've not been on previous threads but will join if that is OK!

Alfiemoon1 · 28/11/2021 20:03

Thanks for the new thread. I hope the electric is sorted soon unescorted.
Had a lovely but expensive weekend ds dh and d cousin finally got to do the super car experience we bought them for Christmas last year £80 for insurance in case they crashed they never mentioned that when we booked £35 on picture package and numerous hot drinks as it was absolutely freezing the wind was bitter then tea at the pub ds works at so £35 which was a bargain for the 3 of us 3 courses dh had a few pints and me and ds a few j20 huge portions gorgeous food making the most of his staff discount took dm and dsister

Today went for lunch with dm old neighbours who lived next door when I was growing up but have since moved away and another of mums neighbours who still live there lovely afternoon £62 although dm got a bit annoying and niggly again I really do have to bite my tongue with her these days and at 82 and in poor health unfortunately this is how she is going to for now so plenty of deep breath’s and eye rolling

Had snow and it’s freezing now so will probably be like an ice rink later when I have to pick ds up from work later

ememem84 · 28/11/2021 20:27

Nice lunch with dsis. And the princesses came this morning. Two very excited littlies!!

Email from nursery notifying me that both ds and dd are direct contacts of a positive covid case. We have to lateral flow them at least 5 times in the next 10 days. They are allowed back to nursery until such time as they get a positive result. Fingers crossed they don’t.

Sigh.

Fearofawelshplanet · 28/11/2021 20:31

Lovely new thread! Spent nothing other than food, gas & electric budgets, had some good yellow sticker bargains this week. Looking forward to payday Tuesday!

Fearofawelshplanet · 28/11/2021 20:33

Fingers crossed for you Em...its tough at the minute.

Unescorted · 28/11/2021 20:37

rrhuth you are more than welcome. I will end up humming Rar rah Rasputin lover of the Russian queen, but that is not a bad thing, Grin Certainly better than my ABBA back catalog.

em I hope they stay negative too.

Electric update - hang the bunting & crack open the champers. Elec Co have turned up with a generator. Can I just say that adult social services, NHS district nurses and the lovely person at the call centre are awesome. They have heat and light.

Northender I think I need to know more about this self saucing chocolate orange pudding...

marthasmum · 28/11/2021 21:11

How lovely of the district nurse, and what a relief.
Welcome rruth (think I spelt it wrong...)
em what a pain doing LFs for two littlies.
I've had DS2's friends here all weekend - one is still staying as his house is up on the tops and has no electricity still. I've known these boys since primary school and am very fond of them all - they're 13 but none of them are at all sophisticated tho they try to be. There is something quite endearing about them at this age. We went sledging which was good fun, my Lidl waterproof trousers kept me very cosy!
Still trying to recover financially this month - we have paid big car bills over last couple of months and have quite a lot saved ready for new windows, but day to day cash flow is a problem. Guess I'm not admitting to myself how much day to day life does cost!
I'm in standoff with DS1 - no Xbox till he does his maths homework- he is lying on the bed not doing maths...

ememem84 · 28/11/2021 21:48

I’m in dds room with her. Air bed up so at least I’m comfortable. She’s coughing a bit. Calpold up and I’ve slathered her in Vicks. I thought about staying in our room but figured it’d be both DH and me up most of the night if she’s up so at least this way one of us will get a decent sleep. At worst.

At best she’ll sleep. Although the calpol has kicked in and she thinks it’s a game. “Mummy in my room. Night night mummy” giggling.

Mrsmadevans · 28/11/2021 21:54

Thank you for the new thread Unescorted Smile
Haven't been here for ages because my B/P has been absolutely awful and l have had to start on meds , B/P at one stage was 203/110 l was so scared. B/P today was 134/80 when l woke, so the tablets are working but they are wreaking havoc with how l feel. l am absolutely floored by them, everything is like walking through mud. Hope everyone is ok here Smile. Hopefully l will be back to normal soon . Take care everyone fsmile

Mrsmadevans · 28/11/2021 21:56

ememem84 · 29/11/2021 06:53

I was up once with dd at 3. More calpol and then back to sleep for her. Pretty much straight away.

I’ve just woken up which is late for me. Must get on getting up.

Unescorted · 29/11/2021 06:54

Mrs we were worried. I hope the tablets work That blood pressure sounds scary high.

After the stress of this weekend I am shattered. I wish it was a bank holiday so I could catch up on sleep/ washing/ tidying up.

We used to have this, they paid us on the last day of term before holidays. It was awful. Luckily they changed a few years ago to paying is on the same day each month.
northender · 29/11/2021 07:11

Gensola · 29/11/2021 07:11

We have done our budget for December, still hoping to pay off a bit of debt but that may be wishful thinking!
