£100 birthday gifts for GC. £42 Ocado and £104 in Baukgen sale

ememem84 · 28/01/2022 07:23

mrs thank you. Dd seems much better. I think she coughed herself sick (if that makes sense). She was a bit snotty. So I don’t think that helped.

I’m getting there had a decent sleep last night. And am having a quiet day with the kids today. Have a work call at 11 but dm was already booked to watch them for the hour.

Today I need to:

Pay for the balance of our accommodation for the refurb £3000
Pay window cleaners £20
Laundry

Wolfcub · 28/01/2022 07:45

Happier I'd have sent ds as well. He knows very well he has to be really severely unwell to get a day off sick. If you can walk you're fine to go.

Wolfcub · 28/01/2022 07:47

Pressed send too soon. My mother was exactly the same as well, sick days were very rare

ememem84 · 28/01/2022 13:31

Dad used to do the £20 note test. Left one on the side. If we got up to get it we could go to school.

Lovemaltesers · 28/01/2022 13:46

My DC normally go to school when under the weather. I once sent DD1 in all week with a cough (pre covid), when I picked her up on the Thursday the teacher recommended she have the following day off Blush

Saying that, I was in two minds about keeping DD1 home today (sore throat and runny nose), she happily watched Harry Potter this morning. Now she has a raging temperature Sad

Happierwithouthim · 28/01/2022 14:09

Em that's clever Grin

Happierwithouthim · 28/01/2022 14:10

marthasmum · 28/01/2022 22:28

Welcome 8
Oh em nooo! Hope DH helps out tonight.
mrs an hb of 2?! Would she not get transfused? Hope she is ok.
I too am a cruel mother who sends children to school if at all possible. A few times I've caught a bug the kids have had and thought 'blimey, I've sent them with this and I feel quite rough!'
Spendy today but all accounted for. Full tank of petrol £98 (yikes!) weekly shop £99 Aldi, £107 at outlet shopping centre for football boots for DS2, new running trainers for me (v comfy compared to old ones) and KFC for me, DS1 and DS2. DD was at her new job as a pot washer Smile

8stone13 · 28/01/2022 22:48

Thanks all, this is just the thread I need.

Not starting off that well - just got back from a splurge in a local independent French restaurant. I went with the early bird offers though so it wasn't extortionate & it was amazing food & wonderful to spend time with a good friend. First time we've eaten out together in 2 years Shock

Only other spend was £11.85 on posting items I've sold on eBay/FB.

I worked out my finances today & they are looking super good. I've saved hard, & made good sales online. A great result at the end of this long month.

Alfiemoon1 · 28/01/2022 23:02

Welcome 8
No spend day been in work and dh took my car to the garage for its mot and service tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed it passes it’s only done 2k miles In the last year I don’t go far anyway but am still working from home paid of dh cc £30 cancelled dd insurance refund due £37 saving £85 per month insurance and £27 tax will look to buying her a car when she needs one
Dd is at the university house she’s definitely there unlike last time as they have viewings and she has sent pictures where they are hiding they hamster no recent contact with twatface unless they have switched WhatsApp

Unescorted · 28/01/2022 23:07

Get well soon poorly miniems and minihappier DS is poorly tonight too, but old enough to take himself to bed with minimal involvement from me. If you listened hard enough there might have been some sympathy.

Welcome 8.

Mrs you need to sit down before you break.

I am so tired yet still stayed up to watch Sue Perkins van life programme. I sooooooooooo want to van life again.

Chuckling at all these stern parents who send kids to school because my mum is a teacher and we were sent in no matter what, we always thought it was very unfair! 😄 now I’m a teacher I see her point!!
Have set aside a few £ to buy some nice houseplants and bits today at posh garden centre, then have bestie’s birthday party. I have been on dry Jan and haven’t broken down yet but will have a couple tonight then do an extra week to make up for it.
I’ve been seeing a PT to try and lose the stone and a half I put on in IVF in 2020-2021 and have lost 7 pounds already in January, it definitely isn’t frugal but it’s worth it! Hoping to be back to my “usual” weight before my 37th birthday in June.

ememem84 · 29/01/2022 06:58

DH was good. But then added to my anxiety by saying he felt dodgy too. So I slept downstairs and left him and ds to it. Thankfully ds was only sick twice then slept through.

I say I slept downstairs. But I lay awake in a panic for a very long time. Then dd woke up and it was 230. Then I actually slept. She woke up again (all fine just awake) at 530. Made her sleep again and she’s been up since 630. I’m exhausted.

Have cancelled riding as lack of sleep and needed here really.

Currently watching bing.

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/01/2022 07:18

Clean bathroom and vac stairs for me today. Could do without needing plumber as it's not pay day until Monday

Alfiemoon1 · 29/01/2022 09:20

Blooming cat had me up at 6.30 wanting his breakfast so much for a lie in
Hoping my car passes it’s mot with no problems then need to do a food shop The fridge looks empty as we cleaned it last weekend so chucked out all the sauces and jams etc that had been opened for god knows how long. Then need to walk the dog
Hope everyone has a good day and anyone poorly feels better soon
