Delurking momentarily to say I've been sidetracked by work (I'm in personal tax - filing deadline 31 Jan so aaaggghhh) but have been following in background.

Seacow good luck with your meeting!

Em brilliant news re the scan.

meadow sounds like the debrief was pretty cathartic. You don't need to make an immediate decision about suing, you've got 3 years from the date of the event. Start with a complaint to the CEO, that's what we've done.

Hello to everyone else and hope you are all keeping well. Hopefully everyone else will come back soon too.

lillylollylandy · 22/01/2019 07:46

Big hugs and Brew to you, Snuggly. It will get better eventually , my older two were dreadful sleepers til they started school. Now there's no waking them.

ChristmasSeacow · 22/01/2019 07:48

Snuggly that sucks Sad. Hope you can clear the air tonight. Do you have to work today? (Is that easier or harder than being home with dc anyway?!)

I woke up before the alarm today, been awake since 5am. Already looking forward to bed. Have arrived early for my meeting so just killing time!

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/01/2019 07:53

Snuggly Flowers

Fgs DD ear ring is infected. She is making a meal of pulling it out. Grr. I may have to be bad mam.

SnugglySnerd · 22/01/2019 08:03

Thanks everyone. I make a point of not grumbling about dh on here because he's definitely one of the good guys, we're a good team and generally very happy. The things I would complain about are trivial things that are just part of living with somebody and I'm sure he has just as many grumbles as me. I do feel upset this morning though.
Right - time to go and chisel the ice off the car...

MeadowHay · 22/01/2019 09:03

Snuggly Flowers Brew Your poor thing. I hope your day improves as it goes on. I would talk to him about how you feel tho so you can sort it out and move on and so it hopefully doesn't happen again. I mean idk but I feel like when I'm upset with DH if I don't talk to him about it it just builds up and I get more angry and resentful and it makes it worse.

Lilly Yeah, but there's also the thing about wanting at least one more child and giving birth at the same trust and realistically my care is going to be influenced if I bring a law suit against them first. And we have almost certaintly decided that we won't be trying to have another for about 5 or 6 years so I can't wait until after that one as limitation will have passed. I actually work in PI and I think the limitation period is way too short. It particularly discriminates against people bringing claims for mental illness imo. 3 years for a trauma is absolutely no time at all when you consider someone might need lots of treatment to focus on before they want to relive it all again through a lawsuit.

Looking for a new job and already not going well at all. I spoke to a recruitment agent the other day who claimed she had nothing for me at all even though their website is full of jobs I could do if somebody would train me a bit upon starting. I am really upset and anxious that I have a first class degree from a reputable uni and through bad luck just got stuck with a firm that isn't supportive of my career progression at all and now everywhere else wants specific experiences which I can't get in my current job...but how am I supposed to get that experience if nobody will give me a chance? Sad I basically earn minimum wage for a job I needed a law degree to get. It just seems like such a waste of my time and effort and I know other people who are doing far better financially who are less qualified but a lot of it just seems like luck, but obviously now I have the motherhood penalty to contend with on top of unconcious bias from being an ethnic minority. I think I am going to anglicise my name on my CV now.

Meant to be going to the baby cinema thing later and meeting two mums from the exercise course I did months ago to see the Mary Queen of Scots film but it's pissing it down and I have to get the bus and walk a fair bit so I might end up sacking it off.

Justanothermile · 22/01/2019 09:24

Morning, been awol for a couple of days with life. Not literally with life, more because of life..😂.

Great news about the scan em. There's one school year between my two as DS is a September baby. I'm going to repeat again that the first few years are very intense. With one, there's always an opportunity for someone to get a break and there's far less of that with two. But I wouldn't change it at all. Apart from the fact we've literally had some form of formal exams in our house for years now too!!

Great news about the debrief meadow. There will be career opportunities for sure, go get 'em, keep believing!

Hope you're okay cag.

Aww snuggly, I'm the same, DH is one of the good ones too and I rarely moan, but even so, they can still piss you off and be thoughtless. Do you think they need sleep training or is it just 'young children' general sleep disturbance as in illness, early starts, nightmares etc etc. Can you discuss and rota it or does he go deaf sometimes?

Glad you're okay life.

Sorry - I've sort of skim read.

Yesterday
£25 on books on amazon as I want to read more. Had a voucher for £20 though.
£25 on fruit and lovely food at Marks, but again I had a £20 voucher.

Self assessment monies sent too - but we'd kept that in the loan account in the business. That was ££££££££££

Hoping for a NSD.

Thatsnotmybaby · 22/01/2019 09:50

Congratulations on the scan @em, great to have an EDD to plan for now also.

Busy few days away
Yesterdays spend was £56 on supermarket delivery.

SnugglySnerd · 22/01/2019 10:31

Thanks Jam and Meadow. DD was just up early today I think. She'd had a very long nap yesterday at nursery which might explain it. DH is really really good about getting up with the dcs. Def does his share! It's something else that's upset me this morning. Haven't heard from him since he left for work. Thought he might have texted to see how I was doing. Oh well. We'll sort it tonight.

Bornlazy · 22/01/2019 10:40

Snuggly I hope your day gets better and that dh makes up for his lack of sympathy tonight. My dh is basically a good guy too, although he is far from perfect. I tend not to moan about him either as if I did you would all think LTB as it would be a one sided version of events that painted him in a poor light. I am sure that he could find plenty to moan about with me too (although cant imagine what Wink). When dh upsets me I try to wait until I'm feeling calm and tell him how terrible he made me feel and then because he is a good guy, that shocks him into seeing how bad his behaviour was to make me feel like that. If I try to do that when emotions are still running high it becomes another something to argue over as he's too wound up to see clearly.

I can only imagine how tired you must feel with all those sleepless nights and early starts. I hope it improves soon for you.

We have snow here this morning! It's off at the moment but was heavy earlier, so because my car is shit in the snow looks like it will be a day indoors and also a NSD!! Would ideally like another tomorrow to take me up to payday on Thursday.

Its nice to see some posters coming back as the thread has been too quiet recently. Hopefully some of the regulars will return too as they are very much missed.

SnugglySnerd · 22/01/2019 11:51

Thanks Born. Yes definitely better to wait and discuss things when calm. I'm a bit jealous of snow! Just really cold here today.
I've worked out how to borrow ebooks from the library on my Kindle. I'm very excited as books are expensive to buy but I never get to choose any books for.myself when we go to the library as it's crazy with the dts!

MissingMo · 22/01/2019 12:22

Afternoon all. Chilled day at home keeping away from the cold. Thanks for your advice regarding toy storage, funnily enough we have 4 kallax upstairs but hadn't thought to use them downstairs.
Nsd planned.

Sorry about your rough night @snuggly, I hope today and tonight are better for you.
@meadow I'm glad your debrief was beneficial to your health.
@em shy baby. Glad the scan went okay.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/01/2019 14:40

Am I right in thinking ds is an Autumn/winter baby em? If so then yes there will be one school year between them with ds1 being an older child in the school year and dc2 being one of the youngest ones. Lots of the news today about the channel islands as they look for that young footballers plane Sad

Ive had a nice morning, have a mini breakfast on Morrisons with my friend spent £5, I picked up a tupperware box which was on sale for £3, we always seem to need more tupperware for one thing or another.

Have ordered dds iphone, got a good deal and it will be a joint gift from me and her Grandparents, can't wait to see her face!! She will be so surprised as have always said I wouldn't get her one as they are too expensive, I've moved £150 over from savings to pay for my share.

Seriously can not wait for pay day on Friday!!

Hope you're o.kay Snuggly and dh apologises later, it must strain even the most secure of relationships having 3 young children and the subsequent sleep deprivation! That said he shouldn't have left you upset this morning.

SnugglySnerd · 22/01/2019 15:03

Thanks. It's strange that I haven't heard from him today but I think he had some meetings to go to do perhaps that's why. I'm looking forward to when he gets home so we can sort it.

SneakyGremlins · 22/01/2019 15:35

Get next ESA tomorrow - good, I'm out of hot chocolate, there's a blizzard outside and I have 80p on the electric.

However if it can hold out that means I made £8 last a week on the electric meter Grin

Oh sneaky don't freeze

SneakyGremlins · 22/01/2019 16:22

I'll be fine! I have hot dog toasties and hot chocolate.

OP posts:
Thatsnotmybaby · 22/01/2019 16:51

That sounds tough @sneaky, I'm glad to hear you will have money coming in tomorrow.

Updated spends:
£61 two pleated skirts from H&M, I'll only keep one of them at most though. Annoyingly I had seen two other beautiful ones in store but the queues for the fitting rooms were too long so I thought I would just order online; but they aren't in stock.

WreckTangled · 22/01/2019 17:26

£7.58 Tesco. Needed milk cheese and coffee and I got chocolate rice cakes

Bornlazy · 22/01/2019 17:35

In Scotland the cut off point for school admissions is the end of February. Ds1 was born in March so he was one of the oldest in his year. There were some people almost a full year younger than him in his class. He would never have been ready for school if he’d been born a few weeks earlier and had to go the year before. I think going to nursery from early on definitely prepares them better for school.

Sneaky have you not got a hot water bottle? You must be freezing 🥶

Taytocrisps · 22/01/2019 18:06

em I got my DNA test results. Apparently I'm 89.8% Irish, Scottish and Welsh, 9.3% English and 0.9% Middle Eastern. Intrigued by the Middle Eastern bit. I'm picturing some far flung ancestor riding a camel through the Arabian desert or working as a slave building the pyramids (more likely scenario).

Meadow that was very brave, going through the debriefing. I'm also surprised that they admitted any wrongdoing, but I hope the apology helped. Good luck with the jobhunting.

Snuggly that was a rotten night/morning. Hugs and Brew and Wine for you. i hope you kiss and make up with DH tonight. I'm sure I've said it before but I really wish I was there to help with the twins so you could get a proper night's sleep for once.

Stay warm Sneaky

SneakyGremlins · 22/01/2019 18:21

I've got two dressing gowns on! Have bribed friend to give me £1 for the electric til tomorrow
