Thanks sneaky.

I got a double bed, 3 mattresses, shoe store, photo frame and tongs.
The rest I wanted they won't deliver on line.

Going to use vouchers to get dd a new duvet from Debenhams, step to reach my cupboard from Argos. Then reassess

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 13/01/2019 12:35

Thanks Sneaky.
Today will be a NSD

SnugglySnerd · 13/01/2019 12:47

Thanks Sneaky.

Just checking in. Spent £13.50 on a sack of potatoes, £5.25 on a chicken and reduced Christmas dreamies in co op on Friday. Yesterday £4.95 on slimming world as fell out of target over Christmas, just 2lb to go which I should lose this week. Today should be a nsd as I've got to sort the house, clean and do a food hygiene course for work.

I tried to upload a photo but it wouldn't attach em they have got maternity clothes coming to Lidl on Thursday if you have one nearby. Think it was £3.99 for leggings and £9.99 for jeans.

Struggling and feeling like a bit of a failure at the moment. Dd1 is being teased at school as she's never been on an aeroplane. The nasty girls are bringing up that she didn't go on the pgl trip last year and that she's poor. The trip was £260 for 2 nights about an hour away which dh and I said was a ridiculous price. Now I feel she's going to resent us as she grows up for not giving her the same experiences as her friends. My friend paid over £2000 for a holiday to Spain, I'd rather use that money for lots of day trips, nights away and fun things. But I guess it's not just what I want.... sorry for the waffle, dh just says don't worry about it but I can't help it 😣

And to top it off both of my girls are screaming and crying at each other now as dd1 wants to play alone and dd2 wants to play with her. I've been called useless and no help as I'm sick of playing referee they need to sort it themselves. Should have just let them continue being zombies in front of the TV at least then I could get on with what I need to do!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 13/01/2019 13:01

Apologies there was paragraphs when I wrote That!!!

Cagliostro · 13/01/2019 13:02

S’up.

Bornlazy · 13/01/2019 13:09

Will need to go to shops to buy dinner later. Dh might go instead so technically could be a nsd 😇

Should we finish up the old thread with pointless 👻👹🤑🤡?

ememem84 · 13/01/2019 13:32

nocuts thanks but my nearest Lidl is 1-4 hours away. Either in France (st Malo) or Poole (4 hours by ferry!) I bet it’s good stuff too. Their stuff is usually well rated.

SneakyGremlins · 13/01/2019 13:48

Aldi have a baby event on this week (maybe next?) - will they do maternity wear?

nocuts don’t be so hard on yourself 💐 My ds have been abroad lots of times but their favourite holiday is a Haven one where there were eight of us in the one caravan in Filey. If you asked them for their most fun day it would be something totally random like a day I let them do something they wouldn’t normally get to do not the day we spent mega money on a structured day out to a theme park.

Tell them to say you are trying as a family to save the planet by avoiding air travel 😉

Lovemaltesers · 13/01/2019 14:04

Thanks for the new thread

ememem84 · 13/01/2019 14:09

They may do sneaky but same as with Lidl we don’t have them here. Only supermarkets we have are Waitrose, coop, M&S and a shop which sells Tesco stuff but isn’t Tesco.

ememem84 · 13/01/2019 14:12

nocuts I was the only kid in my class at school who’d never been to Disneyland (either Florida or Paris). And the only one one summer who didn’t go to Mallorca/Tenerife. I remember crying and begging to my parents to take us. But it did me no harm.

Mum and dad have a place in France (I realise how lucky they/we are). So we used to spend our summers there. ANd dsis and I were allowed to run wild and free (within reason). I have so many fond memories of proper family holidays there. I don’t think I missed out.

Happierwithouthim · 13/01/2019 14:27

Thanks sneaky today's a nsd for me

Lovemaltesers · 13/01/2019 14:52

My DC have only been to Wales, and never on an aeroplane yet either nocuts. We were thinking about this summer, but day trips etc are a more appealing prospects. They are (just turned) 4 and 7 Thanks

Lovemaltesers · 13/01/2019 14:55

£260 for two nights ShockShock That really is a lot, unless it includes fine dining. Someone had a thread on here complaining about £50 for a two night camping trip!

Frazzled74 · 13/01/2019 15:06

I’ve filled my freezer and fridge with bargain reduced meat and veg etc. I’m hoping to do a meal plan to last for the next 3 weeks with what we have but I will need to throw in some vegetarian meals to eek the meat out. I want to buy a Hugh fearnley Whittington book for inspiration, any advice on which one I should buy?

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 13/01/2019 15:33

Thanks for making me feel a bit better 😁

born They do both love days out and really appreciate the small things and still talk about silly things we have done. em in my friendship group at school, holidays were rare and the exception so never seemed a big deal to me until now. It never occurred to me she could be the only one who hasn't been abroad. love yep v expensive and they increase in days/price for yr 5 and 6 😣 for the price of the pgl trip last year we went to the isle of Wight and legoland staying overnight at both... amazing memories from both so seems a no brainer to do that as we couldn't have afforded the school trip and our days away.

WreckTangled · 13/01/2019 15:55

Thanks sneaky. I didn't know you could do pasta in a wok? Do you do it like a one pot pasta dish where you basically cook it in the sauce?

Nocuts sorry you're feeling shit. FWIW my dc have been lucky enough to go to a few places but I say the Isle of Wight was one of their favourite trips and are just as happy going to the playground as they are anywhere big. The nasty girls will find someone else to tease soon. Also dd is really jealous of her friends that go camping, I'm the worst mum ever because I hate it.

Busy day here. After swimming we went to a nearby market town to the lake and had a walk round. We were there for three hours then dh bought us McDonald's. I need to sort the washing out but I'm achy from this morning!

Wildernesstips · 13/01/2019 16:03

Wow Life that's an impressive IKEA haul. I have also been to Ikea £141, on Kallax and new desk for DS2 plus other things that fell in the trolley Blush.
Currently doing Nigellas Moroccan Vegetable Pot in slow cooker for tomorrow.
Have overhauled the mess in the utility room today.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/01/2019 16:05

They are mean girls nocuts. I forget how old your DC are but we didn't start going away until the DC were older.
They have had more fun running round a windy beach this afternoon than some days on holiday.
£260 for 2 nights for 1 child is to much. I wouldn't pay it. That's 2 nights glamping round here in the holidays for the family.

£7.75 Morrisons on bran, it will last a while I don't have toilet issues.
£5 ice cream at the beach

Wildernesstips · 13/01/2019 16:06

Frazzled I might be completely wrong but doesn't HFW do mainly meat? I used to have some fab Rose Elliot vegetarian books.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/01/2019 16:06

£35 delivery though!
I missed a kallax which I decided not yet as the trofast will suffice for a while longer.
