Oh great news em!

ememem84 · 21/01/2019 14:30

happier probably around 5/6 weeks.

Wolfcub · 21/01/2019 14:47

Em that’s great news fingers crossed baby cooperates for Thursday’s scan

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 21/01/2019 16:03

Congrats em my dd wouldn't cooperate at her scans either! We tried loads to get her to move!!

missing we also have the kallax in DD's room. I'm a mean mum there's no toys allowed in the front room, can play in here but they must be taken upstairs before bed 😁

Today £36 on Iceland shop being delivered later 😁

Ggreengrass1 · 21/01/2019 16:41

Hope baby in better position Thursday, exciting em

Wolfcub · 21/01/2019 17:34

£26 ordering windscreen wipers they are a third of the price on amazon that they are anywhere else. I’ve slowed down one delivery so it doesn’t arrive tomorrow so hoping I might get account credit.

Dparents have bought ds two nice practical coats. This means we can hopefully chuck out his tatty second hand one or relegate if to muddy activities

Cag it’s lovely to see you, can’t rememver if I said that yesterday. I hope dh is doing ok. Keep on hanging in there. We are here for whatever you need

WreckTangled · 21/01/2019 17:37

I now have TWO chilblains on my toes. Luckily the snowfire came today hopefully will stop the itching but doubt it'll stop the pain 😭

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 21/01/2019 17:58

I 3rd a kallax, we have one and keep all the lego, playmobil and sulvainain family stuff in it.

Glad scan went well em a summer baby! !

Work was okay today for a change, nsd.

Lovemaltesers · 21/01/2019 19:06

NSD

Also love the Kallax, although the baskets etc make them more spendy

Grin at em DS kicking the trike. And so excited that you now have a due date.

northender · 21/01/2019 19:15

Good day today, had the ironing done, dishwasher emptied & reloaded and put tea on in the slow cooker before I left for work.

Hi everyone. Went shopping today so - £73.12 in Lidl, £16.97 in Aldi £41.14 in Home bargains and £40.07 on diesel. Have gone into my overdraft this month, but hope to scrape it back next month.

Had curry from the pressure cooker tonight it was very tasty. I love it it is so easy to cook with.

em that's great your scan was ok and hope baby is in a better position for the next one

MeadowHay · 21/01/2019 20:32

Glad everything fine with the baba Em. DD was uncooperative at her second scan, they couldn't see the heart properly and she was a in a silly position so the scan photos I have are crap, so I had to have another one when they could see the heart but she was still in a silly position so still couldn't get a proper scan photo! I was fuming Grin. It was an omen of things to come, she is still a wriggly rotter Grin.

I had my birth debrief today. I actually thought they would try and cover their backs loads and deflect in case I try and sue them. I think it was of mixed benefit but definitely some benefit, which is good. Some of their explanations I don't think made much sense in my context. But they did say two of the things that happened to me were unacceptable and shouldn't have happened and apologised for them. Which I wasn't expecting them to do so that made me very emotional. I think I could bring a claim against the trust if I wanted to, but I don't think I will because it doesn't sit right with me to sue an NHS trust and I think even the unnacceptable care aspects were influenced by staffing and cost pressures. Apart from the attitudes of some of my midwives which I felt were discriminatory to me on the basis of my mental health history and shockingly the consultant midwife and the perinatal mental health midwife who I had the debrief with, both basically said they have seen that in person and essentially that may have been the case, which again I find really shocking, but actually I think it's better they were honest and they did talk to me about things they are doing to train the midwives in mental health etc. And have given me some resources to read and local organisations that may be able to help me with my birth trauma and just general struggling with my MH and being a mum. So I am very glad I did it, even though it was very hard.

Wolfcub · 21/01/2019 21:17

Meadow well done on getting through it. I’m sure it was very difficult to do. I hope it helps you to heal and it’s good that poor practice was acknowledged and apologised for.
Born curry in the instant pot is such a doddle. Love it

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/01/2019 21:26

Fab news em.
Meadow I'm pleased you got something out of the debrief. It's tough to relive it all.

Nothing of note here. £3 Tesco's

Bornlazy · 21/01/2019 21:38

Well done Meadow that's good that they were upfront and honest with you and hopefully your feedback will improve the care for future women. It is totally unacceptable for any HCP to treat someone like that.

I know wolf just throw it in and walk away.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 21/01/2019 22:15

Well done for going through it all meadow I wish i had done something similar after the birth of dd which was also very traumatic. As a HCP I find it really depressing you experienced discrimination, I would have hoped that we have moved well past that. Fwiw I experienced what I believe was discrimination when dd was born and on the SCBU ward for being a single parent. There were some really snide and patronising comments which when I look back were really uncalled for and massively unhelpful!!

Right need to go to bed, day off tomorrow Smile going to meet a friend for a cooked Morrisons breakfast, i have a tenner in my purse which has to last me till Friday!!

Need to go into Tesco's and talk to them about dd's phone, I find phones /sim cards/ contracts etc so confusing so will probably look like this -->Confused Grin

ChristmasSeacow · 21/01/2019 23:13

Ah I’m so glad you went ahead Meadow. Tough but hopefully will help you more over the coming weeks as you digest it. I am glad they were honest, that’s how these things are supposed to be.

em my DS didn’t cooperate with either the first or second 12-week scan Hmm so they gave up and did some blood test at 14 weeks instead. Hope you do better! Will your two be just one school year apart then? That’ll be quite handy.

It’s very quiet in here... I’m glad things are more normal but I miss the lovely regulars.

LSD. Just a latte while I sat in Costa hiding from the Cleaner and working. (I don’t count the Cleaner as she’s a standing order Wink). And a map of the British isles inA2 size from amazon, £6.95. For DS’s bedroom wall, we are trying to get him to link the concept of different places/countries with ‘earth’.

Chicken bacon and leek casserole thingy today. I made it up. It was quite tasty but would have been even better with garlic bread, but... diet. Still Nice. I’ve just had one of the walnut whips from my Christmas stocking too, it was proper yum.

8am meeting tomorrow with hostile people I’ve never met. Fun.,

Wolfcub · 22/01/2019 04:41

Sea good luck with your meeting

Girlie I found some comments in scbu very depressing in fact there was one nurse I became terrified of because she was just so awful. When you think the worst is happening to your child it’s not what you need

It is very quiet in here Sea. Whilst I’m pleased at the calm and happy nature of the conversation I am sad too that our regulars aren’t here

I was thinking about Rightwayup too. You haven’t posted on your other thread, I hope you are ok

SnugglySnerd · 22/01/2019 04:49

Well done Meadow. It must have been tough going through that.

Great news Em.

I'm awake because DD keeps crying but every time I go in to her she's asleep. It's also freezing cold. I want to go back to sleep but I expect she'll be up soon anyway so it hardly seems worth it!

We also use Kallax for toys in the living room and Trofast in the dcs' rooms. We need more actually. I keep looking on eBay but it would need to be collected in person and so far all the ones I've seen are too far away.

Rightwayup · 22/01/2019 05:43

Thanks wolf. I am ok. Changed internet provider. Should have realised that meant no internet for days. All sorted now. Paid 300 off credit card. Would have been more but need to replace some fence panels

Missed the weaning spat but have read back to see what happened and why lonely in particular is awol. Am I right in thinking that there is always one poster at the centre of any falling out?

Have signed up for some overtime over the next few months determined to get rid of credit card. If I can sort that maybe the rest of life will fall into place

Exciting news Em. Must feel more real now. 🍼🍼🍼

ememem84 · 22/01/2019 06:21

right feels absolutely more real now!!! And yes to your other question re poster.

sea dh thinks one school year. But I thought it was 2. Either way. Handy.

So glad everything is ok. We can now tell everyone. I’m not a “big announcement” person but will send an email round work this morning and will do it that way. Fils gf has basically told all the family already. She got drunk on nye and told everyone in the pub. Ffs.

I told dgrandma yesterday. She was delighted to have another great grandchild.

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/01/2019 06:23

Nsd of real money planned today. Have to pop and collect something from Argos (voucher) but might do that tomorrow as got the gym at lunch.

WreckTangled · 22/01/2019 07:19

Meadow I cried all the way through my debrief. I was so young, so unwell and it was so scary. I hope it helps you though it doesn't sound like you had great care but then apologising is something I suppose.

Should be a nsd today. I just bought a Fitbit on a buy now pay six months later Blush my watch broke yesterday. I'm going tooney into a separate account so I can pay it off in one lump.

Ggreengrass1 · 22/01/2019 07:30

right glad your back, and congrats on paying off your cc.
snuggly hope you have a good, day
meadow very impressed, well done for getting through the debrief. Hope if helps you.
Phones, we all use giff gaff in our FAM. So all calls & texts to each other free which means kids can always get hold of us. Have to use sim Fred phone though

SnugglySnerd · 22/01/2019 07:31

I hope today is going to improve. Been up since 4.15 with dd2 who is already tired and grumpy as is dd1 who was up before 6 and refused to go back to bed. DH has upset me and didn't even come upstairs to see if I was ok while I was crying into my tea. He's now gone to work without even acknowledging it and now dd1 us being a pain refusing to get dressed. Its only 7.30 ffs.
