Grin girlie is coming to come back and wonder wtf all the fuss is about

Unescorted · 20/01/2019 20:26

I had thought Chicken & vegetable, otherwise it will be Quorn & Vege pie. Maybe it is .... we call Spag bol Compost & Worms.

Wolfcub · 20/01/2019 20:27

We have soup and worms - tinned Tommy soup with macaroni. Delicious

Unescorted · 20/01/2019 20:29

That is a good campfire tea - with angel pubes it could be ready in no time. I will borrow it.

ChristmasSeacow · 20/01/2019 20:30

I thought chicken and vegetable pie. But now we NEED TO KNOW!

Wreck that schedule would drive me mad!

I actually came into mn to message Cag! So glad you are still here, sorry if you are struggling a bit though Flowers. Treading water is not a bad achievement if things are tough.

Bit spendy today - I went to a yarn show thingy quite near us. DH offered to drop me off and take the DC for a walk, and then pick me up. £5 entry and I wasn’t there very long because DD was grumpy (she has molars coming and boy, don't we all know about it!) and DS was also struggling because there were a lot of dogs. So DH came back for me after just an hour. In that time I managed to buy 3 skeins of yarn for a shawl and a little kit to try needle felting. I don’t think I’ll get really into it but I fancy just making one thing to try it out. The needle felting stuff was about £20 and the yarn was... ahem... a bit more Blush. No more yarn fairs until the summer now. Or naice yarn shops. Definitely not.

No other spends today as we have loads of food for the week. Will just need a top up of fruit and milk.

We ate dinner (cottage pie and veg) with the Dc earlier so now the evening is free! Apart from the tidying up... somehow decluttering makes more mess in the short term. I have ‘stuff’ just hanging about everywhere waiting to be despatched 🙄

DD’s naps have been messed up today. She’s wide awake and talking to herself now.

Unescorted · 20/01/2019 20:34

Sea* now you understand why I was frantically giving things away. Bags of declutter to trip over

ememem84 · 20/01/2019 20:34

Beef casserole here with roasties mashed carrot and swede and greens. Curtousy of Dm. Raspberry flan for dessert. Mmm.

Eventful day here. Ds took a tumble in the garden. A tricycle mishap. He leaned over the handles and face planted the patio. An egg lump and graze on his forehead, graze under his nose and a grazed chin. The noise when his head hit the floor. That will stay with me. Poor babbooo. He looks like he’s been a competitor in baby fight club.

He’s fine other than looking an absolute state. No sickness, no signs of concussion etc. He’s eaten and drunk and is sleepy but it happened at 230 and is now in bed fast asleep. Have given him some calpol (to help in case the bumpy head hurts, but also he’s teething and has a bjt of a red bum) and have popped some savlon on. After it happened I popped a cold wet flannel on his head and did lots of cuddles. Hopefully his face won’t stick to his bedding....

Other than that I used both the magimox and instant pot today and made a spag Bol. It tastes amazing. Four takeaway tubs made three frozen one in fridge for dinner tomorrow.

£13.45 made on eBay today. Wahoo.

WreckTangled · 20/01/2019 20:36

Sea weds and thurs are just after school clubs but I'm so used to not having to collect anyone from school as the dc get the bus, I feel most put out Grin

Unescorted · 20/01/2019 20:42

em do you have a Decathlon where you are? They sell baby cycling helmets. And little dinky elbow and knee pads (although they restrict movement so can put them off riding) Ds kept throwing himself off his bike ...and has yet to grow out of the habit.

I have been warned that when he gets back tomorrow he is going to look a little battered.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 20/01/2019 21:48

Haha at all the veggie chicken pie confusion 😂

It was made with quorn chicken, I had quorn pieces so put in a pie dish with some peas, covered with a white sauce and topped with puff pastry. Was really delicious and dd did actually like it!!

SneakyGremlins · 20/01/2019 21:58

I CALLED IT Grin

Wolfcub · 20/01/2019 22:07

Well done Sneaky. Star

northender · 21/01/2019 06:27

Back to work today. Meals planned, gym after work. Shouldn't be any spends.

Wolfcub · 21/01/2019 06:37

Morning all. Awake since four and s beey unsettled night before that. Tempted to use my lunch break for a nap

Happy frugal Monday everyone

ememem84 · 21/01/2019 08:22

No decathalon here (neatest is in st Malo....so a ferry trip away) sports direct though....

Ds saw his face this morning. And said “ooowwwwww” he slept fine though. He’s a tough little bruiser. Saw his trike today and kicked it. And growled at it.

Scan at lunchtime.

Taytocrisps · 21/01/2019 08:55

Verrrry frosty this morning.

I've my womens group in an hour. They started back last week but I didn't know - we haven't set up a group text yet. Looking forward to seeing everyone again - I haven't seen them since before Christmas. That will be €3. I also need to pick up dinner ingredients. I didn't do a big shop at the weekend so I'm just buying enough to keep me going until pay day - DH gets paid on Thursday. I'll do my big shop next weekend and stock up on dry goods, loo rolls, detergent etc.

Poor DS em - I laughed when I read about him kicking his trike Grin. We've no Decathlon either but they're planning to build nine stores in Ireland over the next few years.

WreckTangled · 21/01/2019 09:05

Chilly here too. Am out of the office all day today thank goodness for my thermos food flask, veggie curry for lunch 😋

Only planned spend today is £25 for ds' swimming lesson.

Happierwithouthim · 21/01/2019 09:43

After getting a second month of ynab free thanks to someone subscribing using my referral link so said I'd post it again. You get one month free trial and if you sign up I get a free month too Referral Link

Busy day with dc yesterday - pancakes for breakfast, trip to swimming pool, home for lunch, town for a birthday party and grocery shopping, quick and easy dinner of carbonara for myself and dd and tinned spaghetti for ds. Ds's portion of carbonara made a handy lunch for me today Grin

Dunnes Stores €80.83 using €20 vouchers, stocked up on Donegal Catch Wild BBQ Salmon, down to half price, au pair and I love it. €8.40 was on a magazine for ds which will come out of his pocket money. I liked that the checkout operator alerted me to the high cost of it.

Aldi €48.32 including 4 bags of cat food at €1.99 vs €2.50 in local shop

€1 on bag of crisps for ds at party and €30 for bus today.

Wolfcub · 21/01/2019 11:00

Should be a nsd. Ordered a knit pro shawl pin yesterday so that was a £6 spend

Car booked in for major service next week, will need a new cam belt and brake work as well as some electric work so won’t be cheap. MOT due late Feb so it needs doing

Ggreengrass1 · 21/01/2019 13:16

When I saw decathlon I though it was a sporting event and they have sporty stalls there! took me a while to realise its o shop! Sorry v dozy today. em I'd growl at the bike too. When my littlest got bitten at nursery once, I asked her what she did when the little boy had bitten her, and she said " I raahed him!"
wolf cars sounding expensive

MissingMo · 21/01/2019 13:59

We've had a new decathlon open near us recently. They kept it quiet though.
Poor DS @em, hopefully he feels better soon. Good luck with the scan.
@wolf hope the car doesn't cost too much and hope you get a better night's rest tonight

Housework day today although the Hoover has developed a high pitched noise again. Second one in 2 years. On my fourth load of washing so only one to go. Need to pop to the shop for milk so will go between this load finishing and loading the next.
Theatre was good yesterday. Hard rock cafe was nice but a tad expensive. Luckily I had planned for that.

Can I ask you frugleers with young ones how you keep the toys tidy. We have a small selection in the living area with a small box but they keep growing and spilling out. I was looking at an ottoman for packing them away or would that be impractical?

ememem84 · 21/01/2019 14:14

All good. 12 weeks exactly. Due 29 July. Very uncooperative baby. Sonographer couldn’t get it to get in the right position to measure the neck bit for the downs test. So have to go back on Thursday morning for a rescan and blood test for the downs 𝖲𝖼𝗋𝖾𝖾𝗇𝗂𝗇𝗀. Dh bought us lunch.

Also - payday!

WreckTangled · 21/01/2019 14:15

Missing we have a kallax for some bits but ours are a bit older now and so they don't really have big toys.

I love decathlon!

Was at a school for four and a half hours today and didn't get offered a single cup of coffee Angry

Happierwithouthim · 21/01/2019 14:16

excellent em so how far along were you when you realised?
