That should have said breadmaker

Bornlazy · 29/12/2018 19:47

I do NOT possess a heated airer. I have often thought of buying one as I don't have a tumble dryer either. Would you recommend them Wolf?

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 29/12/2018 19:50

Am enjoying his being back in my own home, it's nice being at mums but so nice to be back on my own sofa as well! Can't wait for my own bed tonight 😴

Have been sorting toiletries (rock n roll 😉) I have so much soap and about 5 bottles of shower gel! That will actually do us til next Christmas 🎅 am going to clear a load of toiletries that have been in the cupboard for ages and I'm never going to use.

Been thinking about new years resolutions, so far have got,

Exercise more, for me and dd, we need to find a way of exercising that we enjoy and keep going. Junior parkrun would be a good start, no excuses.

Read more, no checking my mobile in bed instead read a book!

Put myself forward for some training at work, am about ready to start studying again.

Relationships, I need to start making a bit more effort as I don't want to be single forever.

Be braver and care less about what other people think.

We will see!

Wolfcub · 29/12/2018 19:53

Born I don’t own a tumblr drier and I would be absolutely buggered without my heated airer. It’s never off. If it broke I would buy one again before I even took the the broken one out to the tip. I’ve convinced a number of people at work to buy them and they all love them. Lakeland should put me on commission

Bornlazy · 29/12/2018 20:22

Is it the three or four tier one that you have Wolf and do you need the cover to make it work better?

Wolfcub · 29/12/2018 20:25

Born it’s the three tier one. It does dry faster covered if I’m honest but I usually just put the biggest thing I’m drying over the top or a sheet and that works just fine to speed up drying

LonelyOversharer · 29/12/2018 21:16

Oh no, now I'm pondering how we could fit a heated airer in! The tumble drier is about to die. Dp says it's bearings can be replaced, but it sounds in such terrible pain. With £85 off it, the 3 tier and cover would only be £50 or so... we have a 10kg washer. Realistically how much fits on in one go, and how long to dry?

Of course I could just buy my body weight in reduced Christmas chocs. But that would be stupid!

I am crocheting like mad tonight, totally ignoring the fact that I still have camels to post. After sitting on the dead sofa for an hour, my mind is made up. It's bloody awful.

Wolfcub · 29/12/2018 21:23

Lonely I have an 8kg washer and can fit a full load on my three tier if I am clever about it (think hanging knickers or bras off the four points and laying a pair of jeans over the top of the uproghts. Would be dry in 12 hours with a cover 24 without (bear in mind all my washing is either denim or wool wash)

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/12/2018 21:33

Nsd & I made £12 matched betting & set up a qualifying bet.

ememem84 · 29/12/2018 22:25

born yes that’s the plan. Ds will do Monday with dparents. No2 will do Thursday with them and I’ll have Friday with them both.

This could actually work quite well. Dm item goes to the U.K. to see dgrandma. And so I/dh end up taking a Friday off work to have ds. This plan could mean we don’t have to.

I want a heated airier. Dm has one. It’s ace. I have no room for one (except I. The garage) and no real need for one.

ememem84 · 29/12/2018 22:29

Also just thought I’d share this. I made red Thai curry for dinner. With fish broccoli and other veggies. Served with rice. Yum. Dh happily feeding ds his curry.

Dh farted. Ick. And ds laughed. I said “which one of you did that?!” Ds out his spoon down and said “dada!” Comedy genius that kid.

northender · 29/12/2018 22:50

I loved my spindryer so much that when ds blew the last one up, I bought another. Worth considering to help cut down clothes drying costs. The amount of water that comes out from a load of washing is astounding. Fluffy will back me up...

Unescorted · 29/12/2018 22:59

sneaky I am 200m below you and I don't even consider sowing out until April. Wait until the soil is warm. There is a reason I haven't called round with the frugaleer seeds.

Lonely lovely sofa! We know the roadies. The ones from BC and S.... We look after the waifs and strays. 1st season on their way to teams in Europe. It is only a short hop back to ours and I drive past the airport on my way home if necessary.

Unescorted · 29/12/2018 23:08

Sorry catching up here....took a break BC I may have got into a wine induced spat on another thread....

Bar soap...wolf has it set a soap dish that keeps it off the flat surface...or turn it once the top is dry. To make liquid soap take the slimy bits add them to a jar of water with soda crystals. Shake occasionally Et voilà! You can perfume them with essential oils if you wish. Without the soda crystals it makes good jumper washing stuff and top notch for cleaning unglazed tiles.

AdoraBell · 29/12/2018 23:41

There is absolutely nothing I need in the sales. Didn’t even need to buy loo rolls today, so DH paid for them. I had another NSD. I’ve told the DDs I’m not spending money. Far too much was spent during December, not Christmas though, and it’s made me feel ill.

SneakyGremlins · 30/12/2018 00:21

Ah but Unescorted I grow everything inside, remember!

What thread? Xmas Grin

ChristmasSeacow · 30/12/2018 00:57

Can’t remember who asked (am catching up but tipsy) but I have a dhumidifier in the spare bedroom which is where we put the drying rack (normal, not heated) with anything that can’t be (or I don’t want to be) tumbled. I really like it, it speeds up drying a lot (probably twice as fast) and mops up the extra water in the atmosphere from indoor drying. I really don’t want any damp or mouldy bits, which is why I choose this over a heated airer (we don’t have a damp problem but in our bedroom - an extension - we have 3 outside walls so it is prone to condensation and we have had a bit of mould before). It’s probably cheaper than the dryer to run too. Though my dryer’s drying time has reduced considerably since I cleaned the condenser Hmm.

On my way back from London with DH. Dinner and karaoke for a friend’s birthday. His girlfriend paid all the bills and will tell us what we owe her so no idea. Lots of fun though I am getting up with the kids tomorrow after not-much-sleep but happily it will be DH’s turn on New Year’s Day, which will sweeten the experience of tomorrow morning a little! We are staying over with friends on NYE. Hopefully frugal as tonight really wasn’t 😬. Also left £15 with my sister for a takeaway as she babysat.

DM went home today after spending a week with us. She and I were a bit emotional as she left, it’s so hard to send her off to her quiet empty house. She really loved being here at Christmas though and we loved having her.

Love the crochet Lonely, it is a colour fade yarn? I am seriously enjoying my knitting at the mo, I’ve started a shawl thing with the yarn I bought in October when I went to the naice yarn shop with my sisters. All nicely wound with the aid of the lovely swift and yarn winder I got for Christmas Smile

Girlie good for you for thinking about dating again, go for it! I hope there is someone lovely out there for you.

SneakyGremlins · 30/12/2018 01:59

Sea You sound lovely, your DM is lucky to have you.

ememem84 · 30/12/2018 07:06

Dh has jus grumped because he’s got up with ds. Again. This was entirely his choice. Ds was singing. Dh picked him up and has taken him down for breakfast. He also has to skype mil in a bit. So pointless me getting up no?

Should be nsd today

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/12/2018 08:38

I can indeed vouch for Northender. Spin dryers are fab and very cheap to run. 400w for 10 minutes..

I need a black smart/going out top in the sales.

AutumnLeaves12 · 30/12/2018 08:45

I need pretty much all the clothes and I have no idea where to even begin.

AutumnLeaves12 · 30/12/2018 08:46

I think I should just go to the gents section of M&S with a list. That might do it.

OP posts:
ememem84 · 30/12/2018 08:59

What is it you need autumn. And what do you want. I would never buy from the gents section - nothing would fit properly.

Wolfcub · 30/12/2018 09:13

Morning all happy frugal Sunday.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/12/2018 09:29

Well I found a top. £26 in Karen Millen. Was £50. 3% cashback.
