happier absolutely. I was thinking earlier that if it worked for us maybe I wouldn’t change and go back 5 days. Maybe I’d keep my Friday off once ds goes to school so I could ride then instead. Or bake. Or what not.

Happierwithouthim · 29/12/2018 15:54

I bought dd a whole new wardrobe yesterday too life she's just shooting up.
I'm same as you with regard to selling sick of clutter plus I live miles from the town that people on Facebook group are in.

Must total receipts to see what was spent on her/ds/me but total spends was about €170 they got lots of Christmas money so it's covered by that.

Happierwithouthim · 29/12/2018 15:59

I think that's a good idea I'm absolutely keeping my 3pm finish on thurs & 8am start on Fri difference to pay has been negligible and been a major advantage to quality of life

SneakyGremlins · 29/12/2018 16:02

Get my next payment on the 9th I think so am looking forward to a trip to B+Q - it's seed planting season!

Thatsnotmybaby · 29/12/2018 16:16

Good luck with the application @ememem84; I'm a big believer in telling not asking in these kinds of situations; it's worked for me thus far in situations where I suspect I wouldn't have gotten what I wanted if I had just asked for it. I'm aware everyone's workplace is different though.

Yesterday was NSD
Today I spent £10 on soft play, DH will buy milk.

Bornlazy · 29/12/2018 16:27

em is it because you think your parents would struggle with having the two of them at once that you are planning to put them in nursery for three days a week? Would you not save almost £700 a month if they just went for two days and your DM and DF had them the other two?

LonelyOversharer · 29/12/2018 16:34

Dp has left with mil. We are loaded with vouchers and sweets. I now have £80 to spend in Lakeland (plus a £5 off voucher too)...any ideas?

Lasagne was very good. Bought cheescake good too. Spent £14 in sainsburys en-route dropping dd1 at her boyfriends. Have bought own brand dishwasher tabs...I only every buy fairy, so fingers crossed!

Bit early for seeds for me yet sneaky I find if I start before March my plants get very 'leggy', all stem no crop.

My crochet "door curtain" blanket is now half done. It was buried under presents. Dd2 and I are both sitting under it (facing each other, cross legged on floor I'm never going to be able to get up ) while I crochet. She's drawing manga people.

AutumnLeaves12 · 29/12/2018 16:35

Em I totally understand what you mean about your riding lesson being essential. My clarinet lesson is essential in the same way.

Emotional spends for me would be extra books, or contemplating buying a new instrument. That happens every time I get stuck with a new technical problem that I really wish was caused by a problem with the instrument.

True Lonely but I figure if I sow them in mid January they'll appear in February!

Nice crochet Lonely, I haven’t picked up my hook for a few weeks. I’ve also been 1/4 down a bed blanket for da for about five years

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/12/2018 17:19

Nice crotchet lonely. Trip to Alexander buildings coming on?
Can't suggest anything as we are full up with house wares. Do you need any pic Nic stuff or flasks for the summer?

Wildernesstips · 29/12/2018 17:34

£53 food shop, which included loads of half price meat which has gone straight in the freezer.

Dinner tonight is middle eastern lamb pittas which will use up my leftover hummus.

Trying out MIL's dehumidifier to see if it speeds up the laundry drying. Currently just have a heated airer. Anyone have any experience?

Autumn love the idea of NeSD!!

AutumnLeaves12 · 29/12/2018 18:26

Thanks Wilderness. Smile I'll definitely try to do it then.

Starting today!

Tesco £a lot

NeSD.

Pretty hectic day.
Lots of batch cooking for work lunches
£14 Waitrose
I have reusable make up wipes and they look pretty simple (ha!) to make so planned to spend a quiet hour to myself making some for DD inspired by Wilderness
I did 3 using some pretty fat quarter scraps and white towelling.
All good .

Then I sewed straight through my finger and broke my only needle in half.Sad

ememem84 · 29/12/2018 19:11

born yes. Although ds is in nursery 3 days a week anyway at present. Currently Dparents have him Monday’s and Fridays. I don’t want the 3 days a week to stop as I want to limit the amount of change for him. It’ll be difficult enough when no2 arrives.

SnugglySnerd · 29/12/2018 19:17

Lonely that's beautiful.
14 quid in Aldi this morning on a little top up shop then £3.60 in the local shop this afternoon on a second top up of things I forgot. Now trying to persuade myself that the cheap cheese and tomato pizza in the freezer will be every bit as nice as a take away would. I think I'm too tired to wait for a take away though so frugal frozen pizza might win out as I want to eat and go to bed!

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/12/2018 19:21

£51 Aldi and £21 Iceland. Went off list and now have more potatoes than I know what to do with.

Wolfcub · 29/12/2018 19:27

Nsd

LonelyOversharer · 29/12/2018 19:32

Oh I can't go near an actual Lakeland shoppe life I would simply buy one (or two) of everything! I'm going to have a browse online later, see what they have in the sale! I do not need any more baking pans or cookie cutters!

Not needed any tea yet as we ate at half past 2, will do the dc some sarnies in a bit.

I sent up £60 for each of dp's nephews with mil. I have missed a few b'days and Christmases forgetful/crap/skint , so thought some decent cash might help! But I will harvest this from paypal, as it's the end of the month (and £100 in there was dp's Grin).

Bornlazy · 29/12/2018 19:33

I see em so will ds just be with your Dparents one day a week then?

NeSD today, dh spent about £20 on top up shop of mostly essentials.

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/12/2018 19:34

With you there lonely. I was like a kid in a sweet shop when we were there at half term.

Wolfcub · 29/12/2018 19:37

Lonely what about good knives or pans with that amount assuming you already have the heated airer, a slow cooker and a bread make two out of three of which are my Lakeland essentials

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/12/2018 19:43

Oh there is so much I didn't realise I need in the sale.... Tomato corer i don't like tomatoes

Listen to wolf she is very sensible.
