Q that stage of seemingly perpetual growth is horrible. DS is 17 now and seems to have stopped which makes life so much easier.
Wolf feel really Angry on your behalf.
Born which Pressure King do you have? I have looked at them before.
Fluffy thanks for the tip re Camel I've not heard of that so will have a look.

Having a bit of a crisis of confidence about the essay part of my course (less than 4 weeks to go now) but need to get myself into gear, can't face the idea of having to resubmit. My grand plan of days off over Christmas is disappearing fast.

Happierwithouthim · 13/12/2018 10:25

Does he need to use joint account for any purpose? If not he doesn't need to keep the card with him at all.

Unescorted · 13/12/2018 10:39

He is a dick. He needs to check both accounts and put it back if it is out of the joint account. Can you speak to the bank about the situation and see if they will cancel his card. If it is just used for DD not having a card should not be an issue.

Unescorted · 13/12/2018 10:42

Just thought most banks do an account switching service...you could open a new account and get them to transfer all the DD.

ChristmasSeacow · 13/12/2018 13:42

I’d be livid too Wolf Angry. Defo take the card off him. I also think he’s using excuses to make contact.

My DS has shot up too, I think he’ll get less than 6m wear out of this size of clothing at this rate. I’ve skipped 6-7 in tops unless already stashed as they didn’t look generous on him at the outset. He’s always been a bit on the small side so this has been a surprise!

Thanks for the good wishes re. Presentation yesterday. It went really well and the Board want to take the project forward, so if we can agree terms I’ll have the project director role for 18m. I’ll stay as a contractor for the next few weeks while we sort it out, hopefully it will all come off okay.

meanwhile, NOT an NSD. I bought a new laptop for myself today Shock. After spending 20m waiting for a small word file to open the other day just so I could print it I’ve had it. My old one is around 9 years old and has pretty much ground to a halt even though I’ve cleaned out the hard drive. I used it mostly for processing RAW photo images from my SLR camera but that is quite a hefty demand and since the computer took a turn for the worse I’ve pretty much stopped taking photos as it makes me so mad. Meanwhile my children are growing up inadequately documented! Grin. I need decent processing power and screen resolution for photo software so... boom. Expense. I might be able to put it through my company as I’ll also use it for work, we’ll see what the accountant says. I’ve really missed my camera, I think I’ll feel more myself to take it up again.

Bought from JL through Kidstart so will get 3% back and also 1% back in vouchers via my credit card. Not to be sniffed at on a big purchase.

I am now going to be eating dry bread and water for the rest of the month... and you can chuck me off the thread if you like Grin

Happierwithouthim · 13/12/2018 14:06

seacow well done on presentation and securing job Star
You didn't tell us how much laptop cost Grin

I've decided those boots I lusted over in Birmingham - Dr Martens, will be bought when I've cleared my credit card debt and not before. It's just too much money on a pair of boots right now

QforCucumber · 13/12/2018 14:45

Spent a fortune on DS New clothes oops :( 4 pairs joggers in asda for £16. Another pair in M&S for £7 (they have dinosaurs on and are the cutest) and £12 on an Xmas jumper for him which I may return and just get an £8 asda one!

ChristmasSeacow · 13/12/2018 14:57

Happier it was £1600 . But I did actually do a somewhat frugal thing and bought a PC instead of a Mac. The equivalent Mac would have been more like £2400, which I just can’t afford to spend on a laptop. The defunct one is a Mac and while it was lovely I’m not sure it worth the huge extra cost... (hope I don’t regret it though!)

AutumnLeaves12 · 13/12/2018 14:57

The tesco delivery site just refused to take an order from me without me remembering a banking password I had about 5 years ago, which I still remember. Oddly it wouldn't accept it. Then I tried to make a new one and it wouldn't accept that. That's a bit odd isn't it? Also I have run out of food.

Happierwithouthim · 13/12/2018 15:35

Frugal win - paid gym membership getting 12 months for price of 9 & he threw in rest of this year for free Grin

€27.75 on Tesco delivery of flowers & bath stuff for my besties birthday on Sunday, she's had a tough few months so wanted to do something for her.

Seacow

Happierwithouthim · 13/12/2018 15:38

Posted without finishing post
Seacow it's less than €200 per year at that rate & if you can put it as a business expense all the better.

When dc get older I'll probably need to invest but until then we don't need one. I got a fire a couple of years ago & it rarely gets turned on. I've my iPhone and can do any pc stuff on my breaks at work.

AutumnLeaves12 · 13/12/2018 15:42

Ooo! Tesco site works now. Good.

I got a bunch more Christmas stuff done today. I think I may need to write Christmas cards now, or something.

Also I saw a really amazing advert for a gluten-free yule log online and after a bit of hunting I found that it was an advert for gluten-free flour + a recipe. I thought I was onto something there. Ratso.

Bornlazy · 13/12/2018 17:02

north it is this one.

Spends today £11 on lunch out with work friends and £14 in Card Factory.

Cagliostro · 13/12/2018 17:44

Spendy day as went to London. Went to Operation Ouch Live and then met Dr Chris and Dr Xand at the stage door after! They were absolutely lovely.
#teamxand

ChristmasSeacow · 13/12/2018 17:44

I’d have thought someone would sell a gluten free Yule log Autumn, surely? There must be demand for it. No idea who though....

You’re right Happier, I always feel I get my money’s worth out of computers and phones because I use them lots and only replace them when they give up. I’m collecting it tomorrow, quite excited...

It’s really cold here today. My hands are going all scaly from the weather.

Cagliostro · 13/12/2018 17:55

I’m sure DH has had a GF Yule log before. Tesco, Asda and M&S are pretty good at GF food.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/12/2018 17:55

Wolf I would do the paperwork. I KNOW it’s exhausting, I have been there and got the t shirt. The person you divorce is not the one you married & he has too much control over this.

Sea Well done on the new job.

£19.50 acrylic stag decoration.
£14 baubles. Probably taking the baubles back to pay for the stag/reindeer. Bought them before I found the stag online.

My Ndn is putting their lights up right now. In the dark. Barmy.

LonelyOversharer · 13/12/2018 17:59

Glad you have gad a good day out cag is Dr Xand as cute as he is on the telly?

Spent £6 posting and £1 on crisps. Get home to find 2 (adult sized) girls needing christmas jumpers for tomorrow. So we are going out after I've watched yelled at Kirstie on +1. Its part of Christmas but her constant gushing at shite craft people drives me up the pole.

Unescorted · 13/12/2018 18:09

I am tired.... I worked from home today because I couldn't be bothered to get out of bed. I am suffering from the cold from hell and have a perimenopausal period....after none for months. I feel really sorry for the salesman who called just as I was logging off. He will recover. Eventually. I am kind of relieved after all of em's news.

DS wanted to recreate a WW1 trench scene for his homework....out of cake with fondant icing and butterscotch for mud......it is due tomorrow. That is so not happening. He has decided that Minecraft is a suitable medium. After I did a lunch hour trip to Aldi. £44 but it includes dinners for 3 days and other non essential essentials.

Sea great news on the presentation and job front. A new lap top is understandable in the circumstances.
Lonely I am so pleased for you. You have achieved so much in such a short time.
Hi q and pukka
Sneaky I haven't forgotten your seed &spices. I am just so tired. Even the PO is too far.
Cag I bought a lunch in London and had to mortgage the children to pay for it. It was only a sandwich and a pack of crisps.

ChristmasSeacow · 13/12/2018 18:10

Morrison’s seems to do a yule cake (log shaped but just sliced and filled, not rolled). Any good?

Cagliostro · 13/12/2018 18:15

He totally is lonely! And he answered DS’ question about yawning as well ❤️
Chris reminds me of Jack Davenport. Did anyone used to watch Coupling?

Lunch was only McDonald’s by Charing Cross but even that adds up now as they are just that bit too hungry for a happy meal. £45 on clothing, I was happy to get them a t-shirt each (Operation Ouch is their favourite show, they watch it constantly and we are doing a huge human biology project next term because of it) but DD is giving me her pocket money for some of that, as she really wanted a hoodie instead so I said she had to contribute.

Bornlazy · 13/12/2018 18:20

Autumn what about this cake ?

PukkaLove · 13/12/2018 18:21

"Acrylic Stag"
Things you dont expect to hear that Fluffy has purchased 😂
£36 petrol
My windscreen re froze on the forecourt and the cashier ran out and scraped it for me as mine was on the hall tableSmile

north urgh not great having a deadline so soon after Christmas .
Could you crack on and wrap it up before?

Wolf apologies Im not up to speed but could you get a financial order /agreement in place that doesnt involve a joint account ?

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/12/2018 18:34

www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-partners-moonstone-acrylic-reindeer-decoration/p3527158 It’s classy af though.
