Aargh em

ememem84 · 24/12/2018 08:16

I’ve sent emails to the boss and have showed him the state of things money wise. It’s his call. He’ll have to come in and grab another signatory too. So it’s up to him to make the call. Ffs.

Wolfcub · 24/12/2018 08:29

That’s crap Em. I did some work last night but more as a favour for someone than anything else. Hope you manage to escape the office

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/12/2018 08:31

Ah that's rubbish em. What if you never saw his email? I'm certainly not checking mine today...

Funny how people can be happier.

ememem84 · 24/12/2018 08:45

life the boss was copied in too as was the other director I work with. They’re whatsapping at present and working out what we need to do. One is heading in at 930. I’ve said I can go in for 10 but will probably have to bring ds with me.

It’s “just” a payment which has to be done before year end but it may not be that simple as they want to move £xxxk but we’ve only got £xxk so May have to sell investments etc. The investment banks in the us aren’t open until this afternoon with the time difference and I’m not sure if they’re open Boxing Day... ffs.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/12/2018 08:52

Oh fgs what a chew on em.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/12/2018 10:45

£41 Christmas meat. £3 bakers.

Happierwithouthim · 24/12/2018 10:50

Dc decided to travel in their pjs so I'm limited to where I can stop.

Prevents us stopping to eat lunch out too Grin

We'll need a new thread today

Lovemaltesers · 24/12/2018 10:55

£35 M&S. Am tempted to go back an hour before closing, as they had a nice desert already reduced. Figure they must have loads and might be even cheaper later. Hmmmm

Taytocrisps · 24/12/2018 11:00

It's Christmas Eve!

I popped down to my local shop early, to buy fresh bread. Then discovered I'd no bank card 'cos DH borrowed it yesterday to take out money to pay the builder and forgot to give it back. Had to come home and borrow money off DD (DH had gone for a run). Anyway, €5 for bread. Luckily the shop wasn't busy at that stage.

Came home and had breakfast. I'm going to have a shower shortly and then get stuck into my 'To do' list. To be fair, the list isn't too long. Put on a washload (so I've clean trousers for tomorrow), a bit of cleaning and a bit of present wrapping. DD is excited and bored so she's wrecking my head slightly. I've sent her off to wrap some presents.

Happier it's hard to compare prices between Tesco and Dunnes because our Christmas shop contained a lot of extra things we wouldn't usually buy e.g. DH is making a Moroccan veg. dish for St. Stephen's Day so he got a lot of jars of spices for that. And the fancy cheeses and olives and salami etc. We were tempted by a pork, chicken and apricot terrine but at €5 a slice, we decided against it. Like I said, St. Bernard would be turning in his grave Grin.

em hope you don't have to go into the office. Your story reminded me of a scene from the book 'I don't know how she does it' by Allison Pearson.

AutumnLeaves12 · 24/12/2018 11:07

How hilarious would it be if we all went to M&S just before closing to buy all their bargains? I imagine we would not be the only ones there.

AutumnLeaves12 · 24/12/2018 11:12

We've still got 12 posts to go, and I know we absolutely must fill them all up, but I've made the new thread early because I don't want to accidentally lose any of our lovely new people at Christmas.

Here it is:
