Right, have finished two custom collie dogs, and a wee hedgehog, and might pop out to post through tonight.

Am just going to see how many presents there are left to wrap (probably lots!) and try to get them done tonight. Leaving tomorrow for living room crap clearing and baking.

Spot-on for kids. Feel there is a gap in the market for that!

SnugglySnerd · 23/12/2018 19:53

Or we could make them wear hairbands that repel headlice. Like flea collars Grin

I love everybody's ramblings on here.

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/12/2018 20:59

Thanks, it breaks my heart and he is such a sweetie.
Don't get me wrong I do want to help them. There but for the grace of God go I. Then I see them drinking and high in the church yard next to my office..

I'm also aware not everyone substance miss users.

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/12/2018 21:00

Might squeeze in a Christmas bake tomorrow after going to the butcher's. See how time is.

AutumnLeaves12 · 23/12/2018 21:04

LOL! Sneaky

So do I.

ememem84 · 23/12/2018 21:07

Checking in. Home from dparents full of PA turkey. Had cheese toasties and watched the gruffalo with ds. 😀 then duncle FaceTimed just as ds had gone to bed so went to grab him from his cot so he could chat. He loves facetime thinks it’s funny when people are “in” the phone. So after the call he didn’t want to sleep....catface went and sorted him out. She prances round his room. He laughs then she lies down and he copies. She’s a good Nanny.

I’ve almost finished season 4 of “how to get away with murder” on Netflix. I’ve had Heineken zero. They’re actually pretty good. Dh thinks we should give one to ddad on Christmas Day. See if he can taste the difference.

Tomorrow we are doing the booze run torture absolute torture I’ve asked told dh to buy my fave bubbly. I’m ok not drinking but I want one glass of something deliciously lovely.

Then we’re picking up the pork and then a quick trot across to Iceland for twiglets cheeselets etc.

Then post office to pick up my presents then to pub for lunch. Then home to finish wrapping presents.

AutumnLeaves12 · 23/12/2018 21:11

That's quite a day you have planned Em.

I'm meant to make a posh chocolate swiss roll tomorrow and get the table things out of the attic. That will be more than enough for me. Tbh, separating six eggs is quite enough challenge for one day.

LonelyOversharer · 23/12/2018 21:11

C'mon sneaky ladies jammies? Spill.

LonelyOversharer · 23/12/2018 21:13

(Second line did not post!! Been reading the bad presents thread)

SnugglySnerd · 23/12/2018 21:17

I got an email about Jojo sale. I find Jojo very hard to resist. I should not have opened the email that would have saved me £68. I have bought mega cute hats and gloves in bigger sizes ready for Xmas 2019. I feel really organised, we haven't even had this Xmas yet! Bought a few other bits too.

ememem84 · 23/12/2018 21:21

Oooooh snuggly I’m going to look out for that email.

I’ve said to dh that on Thursday I’m hitting the next sale for the next size up for ds. T-shirt’s and things. He’ll be in them from March to sept so can get away with some long sleeved stuff. I spent £85 in August in the summer sale on him and have kitted him out until March. Saved myself around £120 i think.

I love jojo though. So cute.

Unescorted · 23/12/2018 21:38

I will see you all in Mallorca ..... Sometime tomorrow. Taxi pick up at 2:30am. Night my lovelies.

LonelyOversharer · 23/12/2018 21:59

Safe trip unescorted soak up some sun for me xxx

Bornlazy · 23/12/2018 21:59

Unescorted I am so jealous. Have a lovely time ☀️

Wolfcub · 23/12/2018 22:16

Unescorted have a wonderful time. Mallorca is one of my favourite places I would love to go their or Madeira for Christmas

Em and Lonely you both sound like you have busy days planned

£20 roughly in the pub on round of drinks and quiz entry

Ds has an activity tomorrow morning and then a medical appt so busy times. I’m going to have a quick run round with the hoover and mop while he’s at the activity and then we will nip to Sainsbury’s on the way home as I’ve used the creme fraiche I need for Christmas Day. After that Prosecco will be consumed whilst I make ds a steak dinner. Hmm

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 23/12/2018 22:44

I'm working tomorrow 😕 Dd is going sledging somewhere where you can do that and snow board with her cousins. She has seemed generally a bit better today so really hoping it's not too much for her.

I'm excited for Tuesday now, so many presents under the tree!!!

LonelyOversharer · 23/12/2018 23:39

Presents done. Bar labelling my parents bits and bobs from the dc, and wrapping the box to fill with choc for dd1. So. Many. Presents.

Ds is still awake. Dp and I are perplexed as he hasn't stopped since 0900. I however, am done for tonight!

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/12/2018 07:01

Happy Christmas Eve.

While tracking Santa obvs

Wolfcub · 24/12/2018 07:19

Happy Christmas Eve lovely frugal folk
My body clock seems to have hardwired itself with a holiday wake up time that’s a bit too early for my liking
Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas Eve and that it goes quickly and peacefully for those who are working

lillylollylandy · 24/12/2018 07:50

Checking in to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas! Sorry - have been rubbish as per at posting but I've been keeping up in the background and also very much enjoying everyone's ramblings! I'm in the Post Office queue waiting to collect the last stray present. "Sorry we missed you" card says it opens at 7am. The card lied - 8am opening on Christmas Eve. Pah. But at least I managed to get the food shop done at sainsburys while I killed time - in and out in 37 mins, surely a record!

Huge congratulations to Em and big hugs to Meadow, Snuggly and everyone else wrestling with small children (I include myself in that) - this too shall pass, I keep telling myself. Loved the nit spa story!

Will be back with a proper update soon.

Merry Christmas all!

Happierwithouthim · 24/12/2018 07:53

Morning & happy Christmas Eve to you too wolf I also wake early but 7 instead of. 5.30 alarm time.

Thanks for encouragement on sale, had a discussion with db & dm yesterday & db thinks that h is not spending much time with dc at Christmas because of me rather than his own choice guess boys club thing. But the disbelief pissed me off no end.

Yesterday's spends
€4 church
€12 dealz on way too many sweets for cinema but cheaper than buying at cinema dsis bought tickets & popcorn their kids trays are €1 cheaper than our local cinema but our local cinema is nicer.
Came home & had two large glasses of emotivo Pinot Grigio & dm had one if she didn't finish it the rest of bottle will travel back home with me today.

Going to go for a run now before ds wakes up.

Took dd to animal sanctuary yesterday we both loved a springer spaniel there & walked her. She was also smitten with all the cats

Need to chase up post office for a gift or buy something else for dds godfather & buy a trifle for h for tomo & then we're done. I'm not sure how we are for milk so will get some of that too.

Tayto you normally shop in Tesco what did you think of Dunnes? I find with the vouchers & sticking to family favourites brand & using special offers wisely that it's as affordable as Aldi.

Glad CP was a fantastic holiday for you guys lonely
My dc & I will remember this Christmas for belting out the greatest Showman hits at top of our lungs together & with dsis Grin

Lillylollylandy probably a blessing in disguise when you got to supermarket ahead of the crowd Hmm merry Christmas 🎄

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/12/2018 07:57

Good skills Lilly. 37 minutes in Sainsbury's on Christmas Eve.
Pah to dB happier.

ememem84 · 24/12/2018 08:09

Ffs. Might have to go into work today. Bloody clients who live overseas and don’t celebrate Christmas....and don’t read out of office replies...

Happierwithouthim · 24/12/2018 08:12

Life I'd have expected this attitude from an older person or a man who is a separated parent himself but db is young free & single and normally supportive
