Wahooo!! 780 points from last week added to my boots card. These were from my card not registering.

AutumnLeaves12 · 22/12/2018 16:08

I had a nice long sit in the sunshine and then came back in and fell asleep for several hours. This is definitely what holiday is for. Smile

Ds, dh, and ds's friend are giving the switch a talking to.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/12/2018 16:14

Nsd & the we love media app paid out a £15 virtual MasterCard.

If you get one they’re a bastard to spend anywhere so I added the card to my paypal. Transferred £15 to dh off it using friends and family. Then he tranśferred it back to me and I withdrew it. Bit convoluted but at least I can use the money now.

LonelyOversharer · 22/12/2018 16:15

We are getting along for properly knackered here! Went swimming at 12, and food at the sports cafe at 2. Just walked back for a 2hr rest before huge fireworks display. Then we'll swim again before bed.

Spends £13 parc shop, milk, batteries and bird food. We saw a red squirrel, lots of birds, wood pecker and tree creepers. Fab.

Sports cafe was £85, but my parents gave us £100, so the meal was on them.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day. It is perishingly cold up here!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/12/2018 16:17

born that would be better but sounds far too much like common sense for out Trust! Not sure how I will make it work this month tbh as have dds b day to sort as well.

Have been out for a bit dropping off presents and cards which felt nice and christmassy 🎅 my pots looked lovely and seemed to go down well so that was nice.

Dd still struggling with her ears poor thing, stopped at the co-op and bought some nice soft tissues, wrapping paper and sweets £9.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 22/12/2018 16:25

That's lovely sneaky.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 22/12/2018 16:30

There may or may not have been wine gums which disappeared rapidly.

Bornlazy · 22/12/2018 16:33

That’s great Sneaky looks like some useful things in there and of course mint matchmakers 😍. How’s the Switch coming along ? I almost got one for ds2 but wasn’t sure about the games available.

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/12/2018 16:40

Pleased you are having a good time Lonely. That's doesn't sound like excessive spending for 5@cp.
Looks good sneaky.

Panto tonight. Hopefully grandparents are in full spoil mode.
Dd had been rooting about where I've hidden, now moved, presents. She said she didn't find anything, only junk. Fgs

Wolfcub · 22/12/2018 16:40

That’s a really good combination of edible and useful Sneaky, what a good gift

£2.50 naice chocolate shop, resisted buying myself anything
£43 hair with tip
£4.50 greengrocers on some nice asparagus and a big punnet of heirloom tomatoes
£2 Greggs
£1.20 parking

Thatsnotmybaby · 22/12/2018 16:42

That looks like a lovely Christmas box @SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh.

SnugglySnerd · 22/12/2018 16:43

Yes it is warm. We've been outside a lot today and turned the heating off.
I bought 2 selection boxes for nieces. £3 each or 3 for £5 so I bought myself one. Purely to be frugal of course. No other reason.

Switch is great but not feeling up to playing it at the moment Xmas Sad

That's actually a ton of games in the Nintendo online game shop thing.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/12/2018 16:58

Ha snuggly of course, I love a selection box!! I keep pinching the chocolates off the tree 😶

That's nice sneaky is an aftercare worker someone who works with people who've been in care? Sorry if I've got the wrong end of the stick there.

I'm going to watch 'It's a Wonderful Life' my favourite Christmas film.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/12/2018 16:58

She’ll only spoil it for herself Life.

Nice box Sneaky I’d have eaten the matchmakers first.

£6.14 cashback. They’ve forgotten to take my £5 membership fee 🤷🏻‍♀️

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 22/12/2018 17:08

Exactly Girlie Smile

Fluffy I've never had them Xmas Blush

AutumnLeaves12 · 22/12/2018 17:22

That's good to understand a bit better about your circumstances Sneaky. You sound very sorted and it's interesting to know a bit more about where your life is and where you might want it to go.

All of us on here are trying to get somewhere and I find it a huge help to have company while I try to get there.

MeadowHay · 22/12/2018 17:30

I am so unbeliveably stressed all the time right now it's actually ridiculous. I feel so miserable Sad. DD is being so difficult, DH was away for a few days for a stem cell donation and he's been poorly ever since he's been back so hardly doing anything so the house is awful, DD is also ill, DM usually helps me out when needed but her, DF, and DB are all ill as well. It turns out the council have issued court proceedings against us for a council tax debt for our previous flat that we chased up a few times but they kept sending letters to the previous address even though we gave them this address loads of times, I keep asking DH to call them and pay it off minus the charges but he still hasn't done it, I have no idea what is going on with the proceedings as all the correspondance must have been sent to our previous address as we've never recieved anything until they sent us a bill saying the account was closed and listing most of the debt as being subject to court proceedings. The cheeky fuckers. I also have my PIP tribunal the week after next and nobody to watch DD for it as I need DH to be with me, have had to shell another £150 out for representation for that but on the plus side it's an actual solicitor who is going to represent me. I'm really scared as the DWP will almost certaintly have sent a presenting officer to this one as the court directed them to.

It's all just too much atm Sad. And the above is just a snapshot!!

Wrongwayup · 22/12/2018 17:36

Sneaky if you saw the thread 're £10 extra for Christmas you'd be hiding that it was awful. I must admit I have also wondered about your circumstances but then I think we are all here for another reason than just been frugal.

I know I am and have posted a bit but my life was if you like normal until age 46 and then all just fell apart. Can't quite remember what I have said but one family member died all ok old age and peaceful but in the marth of this another possibly killed another but then committed suicide so we will never know.
Family took sides
Job and relationship pretty much then tell apart
So did I
So have buggered off to the sun for Christmas.
Sorry not very festive. X

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/12/2018 17:37

Bloody hell meadow. That's a lot going on.
Get poorly people better. The house will not harm being a tip for a bit longer.
Do you have proof you chased up and gave them your new address?

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 22/12/2018 17:59

Wrong I saw it! Closed it pretty quickly.

I'm not yet 21 so I still have an aftercare worker who nags too much keeps an eye on me.

AutumnLeaves12 · 22/12/2018 18:09

Meadow I'm so sorry that things are so difficult. You really have such a lot on at the moment.

Wrong that's awful that you have had such a lot to deal with too. I must admit that I love your decision to go somewhere sunny for Christmas. That's very decisive self-care. I like it!

Sneaky that's good that you have someone to visit and keep an eye on you.

I'm sitting in bed wondering when the current lurgy will go, while dh fields the kid(s) downstairs. Very grateful to whoever invented the switch.

Ggreengrass1 · 22/12/2018 18:43

meadow I really feel for you. Is it possible to pay your council tax online where you live? And send an email explaining why you're not paying the charges. That way dh doesn't have to do it if he's not feeling up to it. As soon as its paid they'll hopefully drop the court case. PIP remember over 60% of people win at tribunal. You can take your daughter with you if you have to. I know it's not ideal, but better to have your husband there too. I am thinking of youFlowers
wrong that's so hard not surprised you don't feel festive.Flowers
