I have come down with another tummy bug, which is a right nuisance, after all of the good work I have done of pacing myself and going out for sunshine. I am clearly defective and should be returned to the manufacturer. Phooey.

SnugglySnerd · 22/12/2018 07:17

Sneaky they have them at theme parks now for when you come off the log flume and that sort of thing. Like a giant walk through hair dryer!

Have a lovely time Lonely

Wolfcub · 22/12/2018 08:03

Oh dear feel better soon Autumn

AutumnLeaves12 · 22/12/2018 08:04

I've seen one of those at the swimming pool Snuggly. It looks properly space age.

I am now tidying up the space where my old desk used to be. There's going to be a very big space left behind. Yay!

I have to work out what to do with all of the battery chargers, and the many associated wires.

Bornlazy · 22/12/2018 08:14

Morning, I have taken the coughing bug off of ds2 and feel like shit. Had to go to work yesterday as couldn’t stay off as was off sick recently with my back and ward short staffed. It was grim. Anyway off now until Christmas Day so will dose myself up with paracetamol and throat sweeties and need to crack on. It is such a bad time of the year to be sick there is just so much to do... thankfully I wrapped the vast majority of my presents last week.

Need to brave the elements to put out some Christmas lights in the garden 🥶 This always makes my hands so cold I want to cry.

Curious about the roses - would you actually get a bush that would be in flower to send roses in December?

AutumnLeaves12 · 22/12/2018 08:29

I'm sorry to hear that you're not well born. That sounds very exciting that you work on a ward though. I always think medical people must be super-brave. Good luck with the Christmas lights.

I'm sure someone somewhere will be mad enough to sell flowering rose buses at any time of the year. It would be quite expensive though. David Austin would ideally want to sell bare root rose bushes with no flowers just now, but this is the absolutely ideal time to plant them as there is plenty of time for the roots to develop in the warmth under ground, while the shoots are dormant in the cold air above ground.

I've been out and it's a nice day again. #PlottingMyNextVentureIntoTheGarden

AutumnLeaves12 · 22/12/2018 08:29

"Rose buses" LOL!

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/12/2018 08:37

Lazy morning here. £54 in Aldi last night, twas crazy.
Need to do final tweak on my Sainsbury's shop for tomorrow. It's about £5 after my £100 nectar voucher is off.
£10 pony club, £5 footy.

Mad dash to Currys last night to take back one present and exchange for another. £54 there but when I find the fire sticks I wrapped yesterday I will get another £41 back from Amazon.
Bloody last minute present changes

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/12/2018 08:43

I've been growing various roses for for about 18 months and there's absolutely no way I'd have enough flowers to send to anyone!! You can buy rose plants very cheaply though, most of mine were £2 from places like poundstretchers and are beautiful when they flower.

Just waking up here, dds ears are still leaking loads which is worrying me will have to take her back to Dr's Christmas eve if no better.

Enjoy centre parks, am jealous have always wanted to go!!

AutumnLeaves12 · 22/12/2018 08:44

Somebody bought a last minute present from me on ebay yesterday, but it's too late to post now, so I refunded the money. Couriers don't collect now for next day delivery until Thursday, and Monday collections are all 3 days+.

I felt good about being able to write to the person and explain though, so she was able to make an informed choice about it. Smile

Wolfcub · 22/12/2018 08:46

Born hope you feel better soon too.

£53 Sainsbury’s on salad and bits I can’t get from ocado. Annoyingly I’ve picked up tuna pate which I loathe rather than mackerel late.

I’ve marzipanned my Christmas cake and I’m going to stick a load of washing on before I take ds to contact.

Expect to spend £40 on haircut later

ememem84 · 22/12/2018 08:56

Riding later and must get nappies for ds. House needs a good clean and a tidy before Christmas so those are my jobs today. Must also tackle the laundry which I’ve been neglecting. Dh is taking ds for a haircut. And doing the big shop.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 22/12/2018 09:33

Yes, I was joking Autumn Xmas Grin

Still very feverish. And feel stupid as have only just thought of switching on the enormous fan I have and training it on the bed..

Lovemaltesers · 22/12/2018 10:40

My mum has emailed Xmas Hmm to say she has decided to stop driving with immediate effect. Long story but her insurance was accidentally cancelled, and then they put it up by £400! Not often I thank the insurance company for raising a premium. First job after Christmas is helping her scrap her car so she can't change her mind!!!!

Also in her email, she said my dad isn't feeling well Xmas Sad He's been pretty good recently, but they aren't treating his cancer so I hope this isn't the start of the end.

Thatsnotmybaby · 22/12/2018 10:45

Spends yesterday:
£1 chocolate
£15 hairdresser

Hope all the poorly frugaleers feel better very soon.
I'm a little hungover today, and will probably be even more so tomorrow but feeling pretty organized for Christmas (going elsewhere for Christmas Day and Boxing Day helps Grin).

Wolfcub · 22/12/2018 11:24

Love that’s great news on the not driving but I’m sorry to hear your dad is not doing so well Flowers

I have iced the cake, I couldn’t be bothered waiting longer for the marzipan to dry. Couldn’t find any of my icing tools but, frugal tip, a dough scraper works well for applying royal icing (also considerably cheaper than an icing trowel)

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/12/2018 11:35

Love You can last longer without chemo etc at that age. Our relative lasted 2 years with no treatment except pain management.

ememem84 · 22/12/2018 11:38

£17 boots nappies etc.

£15 M&S on choccies for riding instructor.

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/12/2018 11:39

Phew, house cleaned, beds changed 4th wash load on.

Good news about not driving but sorry to hear about your dad love. X

AutumnLeaves12 · 22/12/2018 11:45

love That's good news about the driving. I would like to get my dm a mobility scooter but she claims she's not old enough for one. I think it would give her such a lot of freedom though.

Sorry to hear about your Dad.

I'm enjoying my sunny new desk. Grin

sneaky hope the fever gets better soon.

Wolfcub · 22/12/2018 11:58

I think I’ve officially lost it, either that or I’ve turned into my mother! I’ve just been vacuuming the wallpaper (it does look better though).

Must visit nice chocolate shop for replacement present

AutumnLeaves12 · 22/12/2018 13:31

Does anybody think that it's oddly warm out for the time of year? I'm having a lovely time sitting in the garden and it feels like late spring here.

ememem84 · 22/12/2018 14:38

13 degrees here. Riding was glorious. The boost I needed. 😊

Dh and ds went shopping I picked them up after. We’ve just been playing football in the garden as ds has a lot of energy.

Bornlazy · 22/12/2018 15:48

Girlie meant to say earlier our Trust paid us a week early but to avoid a wait of six weeks till the next payday are paying us a week early then as well. So we will have two five week months which is better, I think 🤔
