seacow no yanbu, a bit of gratitude goes a long way!

wolf I see white rabbits!

Can't believe it's Oct 😮

I've just had my physio, was good I have some exercises to do and she has given lots of good advice. Hopefully onwards and upwards from here...

The physio was in a small local town with lots of charity shops so I've had a mooch, bought 2 books £3.50, 1 charity lottery ticket £1 and a cup of tea and a bun in greggs £2.40.

One of the books I'm tempted to give as a gift, it's perfect condition!

ememem84 · 01/10/2018 11:18

£2 for a chocolate orange caramel cupcake from our bake sale. It was gigantic. And deliciously sticky and gooey.

Yum.

Have been to dr. £42.50 for the next 3 months prescription. She’s happy with how I’m coping so that’s all good especially given the moving stress etc.

She had asked me to come up with a self care plan. Something I can keep up and maintain. So I said about my using my products, trying to get more sleep, not using the phone as much, no booze etc. It sounds a lot but she says is completely doable.

northender · 01/10/2018 12:12

Sounds like a sensible GP Em
Good luck with the job Seacow
Welcome Mimena

Our spending has been more than it should've been over the past 2 or 3 months so we are going to record all our spending for at least a month and just keep an eye on where it is going.
No spends yet today but will pay for car parking today, taking ds to opthalmology appointment at the hospital. Honestly, it is like having the old ds back since he has been on the new ABs, what a transformation!
Apart from the hospital, the rest of the day will be study & house stuff, getting ready for German exchange student to arrive tomorrow. Dd is excited!

ememem84 · 01/10/2018 13:03

So. Lawyers come back with a reasonable compromise. Just need dh to agree it. And it looks as though we could be completing on Friday. Holyfucksticksbatman.

Appointment tomorrow to sign paperwork. Eeeek.

Bornlazy · 01/10/2018 13:44

Hope it goes ahead em will it be relatively easy to pack up your stuff from you your dm’s house?

I was working all weekend so minimum money spent. Only need bread today so should be lsd. Actually have just remembered that I bought some Christmas presents and present for dh’s birthday yesterday to get the extra points as this was a bonus weekend. £100 spent £21 points made.

Wolf I saw grey rabbits when you first posted but now they are white - on the same device - how strange.

Welcome to the new posters hope you get lots of good tips here and the motivation to stay on track, well as much as possible we all stray occasionally 😉

AdoraBell · 01/10/2018 13:52

£40-ish quid in Boots, shampoo, soap, shower stuff etc, all on offer.

ememem84 · 01/10/2018 14:05

Hold that thought. Dh doesn’t agree. So I’ve gone back to lawyer and said we’ll complete on Friday if there’s a significant reduction in price.

If not we complete when we’ve had a drain inspection and a formal quotation from a roofer.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/10/2018 14:26

£30 aldi topped up lots of basics and got my brother a selection of lagers for his bday.

Been productive this afternoon, washed floors, hoovered and caught up on admin. Have also rung dds school as was having no luck emailing them, am going in tomos to see the senco and discuss how they can support her with her hearing loss.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 01/10/2018 14:45

Busy day for everyone so far
I spent €21.25 on brunch Blush for myself & a friend in a cafe that doesn't encourage children Grin massive treat.

€139.11 in Aldi including 5pk socks for each of the dc & 3pk tights for dd.
€18.83 in SuperValu on a few extras & a pack of ginseng for energy for myself including an almond croissant filled with cream le yum

I'm not even sure how long this shop will last, thinking two weeks with small topup of fresh foods next week Hmm

mammynowanauntyIRL · 01/10/2018 14:48

I've descaled shower heads and kettle and put on two washes today.

There will be a major declutter & clean here in next month or so.

WreckTangled · 01/10/2018 15:25

Wolf they rabbits are white to me.

Nsd. I've got heartburn. Had it in the night too I must be getting old 😭

ememem84 · 01/10/2018 15:45

White rabbits for me too 🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐁🐁

Justanothermile · 01/10/2018 15:51

Afternoon.

Totally and utterly lost track of the thread over the weekend. A combination of working extra hours, training and getting DS off to university have taken up all our time.

DS was deposited yesterday, he seemed happy enough and couldn't wait for us to leave, 'see you in 10 weeks' were his departing words.

I'm totally fine, genuinely okay, just a few things provoke a twang of missing him, he's usually the first down on a morning and makes me a cuppa and we have a chat, but it's all part of his life moving on. He's quiet so I'm a bit worried he'll make the effort to make friends but they've tons of 'quiet reps' and clubs and the like to help and actually there were tons of kids looking just like him.

Dd was in bits!! We ended up having to drive around looking for her while she was out walking the dogs as she was sobbing down the phone before we left. This is the brother than let off his air horn outside her bedroom on Saturday when she hadn't got up at 9.30 am and who relentlessly teases her, but is actually her partner in crimeGrin

DH is in the middle, had a little cry last night and missing him terribly today.

NSD.

Low spend weekend.

Bornlazy · 01/10/2018 16:28

Jam he sounds like a lovely boy. It will be a big adjustment for all of you but the weeks will fly in and it’s so easy to keep in touch now.

em you’ve sneaked a few white rats in there are they a treat for catface? 😂

Wolfcub · 01/10/2018 16:33

How strange when I looked at Em’s post a second sgo the rabbits where white, when I scrolled back up to look for rats they were grey.

Em is dh being sensible and do you agree with him or is he being stubborn, is there any risk you would lose the house by holding out?

Jam I hope ds has a wonderful time at uni. I echo Born’s sentiments

North glad ds is a bit brighter on the antibiotics, I hope the appt went well

Mammy I’ve just done about the same values worth of shopping and I reckon 10 days to two weeks of mostly meaty meals from that

northender · 01/10/2018 16:46

Jam I was just thinking of you & wondering how you got on. I can imagine our dd being like that when ds goes. Time will fly by & it will be different and need adjusting to, but he'll be settled soon enough & then back before you know it!
Hospital appointment went well. Had a moment of horror when we got there & I realised I hadn't got my purse with me (pay and display car park). Anyway someone was leaving & gave me their ticket which I in turn passed on when we were leaving. The eye doc said ds is on the right AB but will need to be on it for longer than the 4 weeks supply he has at the moment. Possibly 12 weeks or even more, but if it keeps up this effect then I'm happy. His acne has almost disappeared too, happy days.

ememem84 · 01/10/2018 16:50

I wholeheartedly agree with dh on this one.

We can’t pay £x for something if there’s a chance that the back drains could collapse and we need to replace, and need to reroof the garage for an unknown cost.

If we have a quote we can work with that’s fine. And if we have a drain person tell us we have x years left on the drains that’s ok and we can save for it. If it’s an immediate thing that’s not good.

We’re prepared to walk away if they won’t budge. If you love something enough set it free right?!

But us walking away throws them in the 💩. They have a new build they have to get to and need our money to get it. They won’t find another buyer who can complete by end of October. And won’t find someone who will go without a survey. So we should be ok.

Cagliostro · 01/10/2018 17:49

Big decisions em eeek! You'll know what's right though Thanks

Aww jam you sound like such a close family. I bet he'll be fine, being quiet he may take longer to 'get out there' but he'll find some kindred spirits. I think it's the little things that make you miss someone, obviously for me it's different with DSD as she never lived with us, but sometimes I'm watching anime and think that I wish she was here so we could watch it together! We used to do that a lot when she was still in town. But FB/facetime etc means it's so much easier to still be in touch at least. :)

I still feel like garbage - will need more supplies already :( (getting tesco tomorrow though so will include them) so I'm curled up on the sofa printing a load of work for the Caglets - maths drills, Japanese writing practice, even wordsearches made from Japanese symbols, how cool is that! I love having the internet, home ed must have been much more difficult and expensive before that. And I really love having Instant Ink again. I can print up to 900 in the next 3 months and then 100pm thereafter.

There's a nuthatch on one of our bird feeders! So gorgeous. I'm happy as I was quite worried about having to 'start over' with getting birds in our new garden. But it's going quite well so far. Need to add mealworms soon and scattering feed on the ground as well as hanging stuff up.

Born/Wolf I never understand emojis. Sometimes they change between typing and posting, and then when you look another time they seem to have changed again. Weird! I'm on the laptop so can't add any in this post other than the MN ones :o Hmm :o

thistimenextsummer · 01/10/2018 18:07

Thanks for those links fluffy - always worth another read!

North great news for your ds about his eyes but also what a bonus for his skin! From someone who suffered terribly as a teenager I appreciate how great this must be for him!

Born I have also really cracked on with Xmas. £100 spent today on ordering amazon vouchers to cover all nieces/nephews/Xmas/birthday up until December. Last year vouchers were a huge success so I wrote on my 'things to remember' list 'start buying vouchers through the year to spread the cost' ShockBlushHmm good advice January me but October me is now kicking myself once again as £100 on one go certainly doesn't count as spreading the cost!

I've eaten much better today - boiled eggs, half a jp with homemade coleslaw, fruit as snacks and I've just eaten one of the Aldi slimming world ready meals - morrocan veg. It was pretty tasty and will stop me eating sausages later Grin. I've even got enough mojo to have booked into a class at the gym later - first time in ages. Mim I'm going to use it or lose it too!!

Mimena · 01/10/2018 18:08

Thanks fluffy! (loses the rest of her week reading)

I thought I was on for another nsd, then realised I had to pay for this term’s music lessons for DS1 and 2. Will need to get them to keep up the practise to get our money’s worth!

Wolfcub · 01/10/2018 18:11

Fluffy I might revisit some of those threads myself.

I’m making chicken tagine for tea. It’s my early start day tomorrow so I’m going to try and make sure I’m in bed before 10

Mimena · 01/10/2018 18:14

I did make it to the gym thistime, not the hardest session I’ve ever done, but at least I went!

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/10/2018 18:15

£7.50 on paint in wilkos. I'm still waiting for my last order which was the same paint full price so I have emailed the ceo to request a refund and cancellation.
