Now that I've put that in the title, we will almost certainly get snow. LOL!

Welcome to nearly-August.

Fluffy thanks for the recommendation, I’ve definitely heard of them, think they did a valuation for us years ago. Will definitely be shopping around.

Snuggly I know what you mean about it feeling like a step backwards. We have overpaid for years and I was literally counting down the months. But no good if we are struggling day to day. We are going to give it a year, get our prehistoric bathroom replaced and then review where we are.

QuiteCleanBandit · 01/08/2018 09:25

Wait !what!
Catface has a real name .
I thought her name was CatfaceGrin
I love all the songs and family in jokes .
Part of family life and makes no sense to anyone else .
Im sure Ive mentioned this before but we have "cat voice ".
Fine in private ,it elicits hisses of "cat voice"CAT VOICE" if accidentally continued in public.
Should be a NSD.
The Bomull Lin arrived and is gorgeous, far nicer than expected.
Do we have a mass of knitting lurkers as the other colours have gone out of stock HmmGrin

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/08/2018 09:38

It's a sideways move for you Snuggly. Having twins when you need full time childcare is not cheap.

SnugglySnerd · 01/08/2018 09:48

That's a good way to look at it Fluffy.

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 01/08/2018 09:49

Bandit I thought she was really called Catface too. Smile

I love that you have cat voice. I used to love to do animal impressions in my teens, but had to give up, as my filter in polite society was almost non-existent. Specifically, I had to give up baaa-ing like a sheep before I went for postgrad interviews.

Scandi its £7 to park

Gorgeous here though!

ScandiLady · 01/08/2018 11:27

Wow wreck that some expensive parking. Glad council cant charge parking

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 01/08/2018 11:30

Are you doing okay for money at the moment Wreck? I know you said things were tight at the end of the month and then your paycheque didn't come through properly. Are you managing okay?

Haha. No! Her name is Millie. Miss Millie. But in the song it goes “where is my lovely Millie millsy millsy millsy Mills...” And “millie Mills she is my girl...”

She talks with a very lahndan accent. Proper cockney bit gangsta. Haha!

Bornlazy · 01/08/2018 11:51

Ha Ha em we do that as well. All our cats have different accents to suit their personalities.

ememem84 · 01/08/2018 11:53

Her language is terrible too. She swears a lot. She’s all “yo catdad where the eff are my biscuits? It’s 7 effing am and I haven’t been effing fed yet”

Loveabaconsandwich · 01/08/2018 12:14

I always get my DP to check my hair before going to the hairdressers for nits. It would be quite mortifying Shock I always tie my girls hair back and plait it for school/nursery/ cm. I bought a nitty gritty after it was going round at school, yet to use it.

I struggle with thinking you guys have real names, not your mn names, let alone the DCs (eg cagletini) and pets. If we ever met in person, I'd never be able to call you by your proper names

Spendy morning
£9 Asda food
£31.50 Asda school uniform
£18 Dorothy Perkins (used £10 gift voucher)
£21 Next
£4.50 Boots
£3.80 Caffè Nero (but used Gift voucher)

I haven't looked at kids clothes in Next for ages. I could've spent a fortune, they were far nicer than H&M etc but not in my price range

Still need to get shoes and raincoat for back to school.

Thatsnotmybookworm · 01/08/2018 12:15

Thanks everyone for your support of my pre return to work expenditure Smile. I also spent £38 in M&S yesterday on two tops for me (which will hopefully pull a couple of work outfits together), and a jumper for DH.

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 01/08/2018 12:19

Love I know what you mean. I can imagine in 20 years time we'll all be the only ones who really know each other's lives properly and if we all met up it could be very strange indeed.

We are still poor but we can afford all of our bills Grin I need to keep some money by for school uniform and trips though.

Scandi this beach is on a private estate I don't mind the charge really as there's life guards and the beach is kept really clean.

QuiteCleanBandit · 01/08/2018 12:48

em thats so funny Grin
One of mine is a mobster.
He says gimme da bisquits ya b*tch
My other cat is extremely polite and Hmm at him.

They hate each other.
The dog is secretly envious he has so much front but is well trained.
Sunny its the voice we think a cat would speak in ,we dont do animal impressionsGrin
Boring lunch of cobbled together bits from the fridge 🙂

Cagliostro · 01/08/2018 13:14

I really want a pet praying mantis, I wonder what voice he will have?

Cagliostro · 01/08/2018 13:21

Also has anyone seen any small glass chopping boards? I much prefer glass but the usual ones often called "worktop savers" don't fit in the sink!

Cagliostro · 01/08/2018 13:23

Also also
Any recommendations for carpet cleaning stuff, there's a few marks from yesterday. Not the HA fault at all, they wore overshoes, but some dirt was coming down from the attic :( plus it would be good to have something for the inevitable spills etc

ScandiLady · 01/08/2018 13:39

We have a cat too. Love her to bits. She came to us just shortly after we moved in, clearly been dumped by her previous owners. Took her to the vet, who said either she was put to sleep or else we had a cat... Most expensive cat ever with sterilization, vaccines, removing bad tooth and chipping her. But totally worth it.
Found new kids stuff to sell and bought a baking bag from too good to good, 2 £...
wreck sounds nice with life guards and private beach Smile

SnugglySnerd · 01/08/2018 13:45

My cat talks like Alan Rickman in the Harry Potter films. He's quite scary.

SneakyGremlins · 01/08/2018 13:46

Enquired about ESA.

So apparently as I sent in a paper form it's been languishing in the unprocessed pile for six weeks. "Bob" is sending it straight to his colleague in processing and I'll get a call to update me in 48 hours or so. Angry

BestFootForwardAndThenSome · 01/08/2018 14:06

Wreck I'm glad you're getting on okay.

Bandit. That's a whole different thing. I must try that.

Cag I reckon a praying mantis might talk like a mafia boss.

I had no idea that cats talked in different human voices. When I had a cat I talked to him in cat and he talked back to me in cat. The possibility that he could speak English never even occurred to me. I wondered if he knew?

OP posts:
ememem84 · 01/08/2018 15:27

sunny I meow at catface sometimes but she just looks at me like Shock so I’m obviously being super offensive. Haha.

My friends dog didn’t understand English. They got her from a dog rescue who ship them over from Spain. So she had to learn dog commands in Spanish.

SneakyGremlins · 01/08/2018 15:30

I meow at Luco and get the most withering stare
