Ooooh. Thanks laksa. Not very frugal though!!!! Haha.

Laska5772 · 19/07/2018 16:02

No Not hugely Em..... but then its for those times when everyone else is drinking around you and 'G&T moments' only .. Grin.
Otherwise I stick to water lemon and ice

CurlsandCurves · 19/07/2018 16:03

Not the NSD I had planned, but I sorted my mums birthday present. Me and my brother have gone halves on a treatment voucher for her local salon. Got her a facial, which she wouldn’t normally treat herself to.

Next is the problem of what to get DS1. He turns 13 next week and I have no clue what to get him. Well, he wanted a gaming laptop for a joint birthday and Christmas present but there’s just no way we can stretch to that, totally out of our reach. On a practical level I’m going to get him some tshirts but apart from that, no idea!

Loveabaconsandwich · 19/07/2018 17:16

NSD

lonely we've put DC3 ideas on hold really, at least for now. With my dad potentially going to be more unwell in the future, and maybe needing to help my mum a bit more it just doesn't seem a good idea.

But who knows, with all these weeks of holiday we will both have, we could change our minds again in a year or two. I'm on the fence, I still can't quite say never!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 19/07/2018 17:24

curls some male toiletries? Some books or dvds?

I gave up drinking about 8 years ago! I lost all tolerance after I had dd, I don't miss it any more. I enjoyed my drinking days in my 20s but it's not as much fun when you've got a child to sort out the next day!!

Work was manic today, I'm so tired! Got pilates tonight and then planning an early night. Think I've got a trapped nerve in my arm as it's been painful all day 😣

LonelyOversharer · 19/07/2018 17:31

You've loads of time love and larger age gaps work well, it did here. I did not enjoy having 2 in nappies when dd2 and dd3 were small. When I had ds dd3 was 4 and a half, quite easy all round.

laska I got a 9-5 job at the place I home painted for. I spend my days screenprinting, mixing paints (into your spice jars!) and checking other peoples painting work. Sometimes I'm lucky, like today, and get paid by the hour to paint too. I love it, it suits me to a t. I'm a month into a 3 month trial, fingers crossed I get a permanent position then.

Nsd, as dp gave me £20 (he sold an old bike bit) and I gave it straight back to pay for my ebay postings.

He had an asthma attack last night. Last year the same thing got him blue lighted to a+e. This time we watched and waited and he took a lot of blue puffer. He has an oxygen thingy for his finger, so we knew his sats were ok. He's much better today.

mammy fingers crossed you manage the holiday sans stress. Dd3 slept very well, dd2 will try hers tonight.

LonelyOversharer · 19/07/2018 17:32

girlie snap, thats exactly why I don't drink anymore. Dp doesn't as it messes with his painkillers.

ememem84 · 19/07/2018 17:33

£39.50 nails.

Other than that no spends.

Payday tomorrow. Yippee!!

Picked Ds up from nursery and he is so happy!! He sang all the way to the car.

Loveabaconsandwich · 19/07/2018 17:35

I realised that the year 10 work experience lad at work today, I was old enough to be his mother. I feel old!!! Shock

Bornlazy · 19/07/2018 17:54

Love just wait until your old enough to be your colleagues mother, that’s when you feel really old 👵🏼😂

WreckTangled · 19/07/2018 17:59

Most of my colleagues have dc a similar age to me Grin

Just made these, very easy but they need cumin or onion seeds in them next time.

SunnyLikeThursday · 19/07/2018 18:24

Lonely your job sounds brilliant. Smile

We had sports day today and ds won a race. Yay! It wasn't a speed race, but rather a physics race, which involved complicated handling of a ball and hoop. He was very pleased.

I have gone on a house-cleaning bender and have been rattling round cleaning and hoovering and have even done the windows and the car.

Wolfcub · 19/07/2018 18:24

Cagliostro · 19/07/2018 19:13

Spent most of today over at the new house. Friend (sort of an extra mum/grandma to the Caglets) was over again, we moved more stuff in, and she got them working on the garden! She’s started treating the fence, it’s a lovely purple. The Caglets are also painting the picket fence at the edge of the decking, which we will be keeping at least until next year. It is a brand new experience for them, doing that sort of thing, and it’s so lovely to see.

Got the first Tesco delivery unpacked (mostly cleaning/household stuff and some snacks for tomorrow while we build furniture) and I’ve started the deep clean of the old house too (still got a few more bits to pack but thought I’d make a start on scrubbing doors and such)

Good day! DH and I are sharing a takeaway later (Caglets are eating at St John as it’s party week). Will basically be our last proper meal here. Eeeeek!

SunnyLikeThursday · 19/07/2018 19:19

Wreck what sort of weeds were they? Did any look like this?

www.crocus.co.uk/plants/_/euphorbia-amygdaloides-var-robbiae/classid.2780/

That's the only moderately poisonous thing we have in our garden. Most things should be okay. Even dandelions are actually edible, though they are quite peppery I believe, so might make your tongue burn.

Cagliostro · 19/07/2018 19:21

@Bornlazy remember we were discussing favourite Simpsons episodes and you said the Cape Feare one... well, DS was clearing the cut grass, I’m sure you can guess what he did with the rake 😂😂😂

Also friend brought up her old patio furniture, including parasol! So don’t need to buy any yet. She has also said that as she was going to buy us a dishwasher 😱 but can’t because we have nowhere to put it (until we ask in a year for permission to take a cupboard out) she would like us to choose another bit of furniture instead. How lovely is that 😍 will probably go for our wardrobe. We will be putting in another Ikea order at some point as we need more kallax. Our house is going to look like the catalogue I swear 🙄🤦‍♀️

Sammy900 · 19/07/2018 19:29

£50 Aldi grocery shop today 5 bags full - going to make it all last as long as poss :)

Lonely your job sounds amazing it almost doesn't sound like work at all

I like the idea of cutting down on booze as I can't cope with the 2+ day dreadful hangovers these days, maybe I could have a tipple every other week.....cutting out drinking at home is a good idea to change the mindset

Laska5772 · 19/07/2018 19:44

Exciting cag.. do the caglets love the new place? I really hope they will cope with the move well.

loney that sounds like a fab job ! well done you .

wreck milk should help.. I expect you have done this already by now.. hope you dont get any blisters.

LSD, just washing up liquid and blackpepper corns , both of which we were nearly out of..

But Vets visit tomorrow for more tests , (if I can find the cat ) so that will be £££ again no doubt.. .. Hes done the offski again, (complete outdoors loving cat this one ) but hopefully will be back in the morning for us to go ..

WreckTangled · 19/07/2018 19:53

Cag She obviously thinks a lot of you all.

Lovely lupins Wolf, Deffo having them in my garden next year.

I miss Need terribly. I pm'd her in May but no response.

EWFL is on at 8pm.

SnugglySnerd · 19/07/2018 19:57

Evening all. NSD. I've just cleaned the kitchen and dh is doing the bathroom. What an exciting life we do lead.
We don't drink much since having dcs. We never drank in the week anyway but would cane it on Friday and Saturday. Now we have 1-2 beer or spread a bottle of wine over the weekend. I still look forward to it as a treat.
