I don't think the bites are too bad because it was on the underside of the mesh on the seat I was sitting on so every time I felt pain I moved. But then, because I didn't know what it was, I put my leg back down again and got bitten again (8 times!)

CremeEggThief · 01/07/2018 16:34

NSD to get the month off to a good start!

ememem84 · 01/07/2018 16:51

Ouch. I am sore exhausted and a bit sunburnt.

Had the best day. I’ve slipped slided and bounced my way through 12 obstacle games with the work team. So. Much. Fun. And for such a good cause!

£4.50 on a bacon cheese burger and chips from the van at lunchtime. We had a ton of sweet food and booze in our tent.

Dh and ds arrived in time to see me trip on a “run with a cup of water over soapy bouncy castle and deposit it in bucket” obstacle. I skidded head first off obstacle and took out our water collecting bucket. Oopsy!! 😂😂

SunnyLikeThursday · 01/07/2018 16:54

I'd probably best not Girlie as it's the raging watery diarrhoea. Confused. Didn't really think that through before saying it. I'm waiting to hear back from the assessor by email. I'm sure she'll have a clear idea of what she wants done.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/07/2018 17:16

NSD & im registering with nationwide simply rewards program. I never knew it existed before today.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 01/07/2018 17:42

Spends today stopped at Johnstown Garden Centre tayto might be familiar with the place
Lunch €19.25 me and both dc
Drinks €9.35 drinks for us and my friend
Icecream €6.65 me and both dc

Wreck hair is brilliant
Tolls this weekend €3.80 plus whatever m50 is I'm registered to be billed for that

I'm also still house hunting -have found a place I think will suit us well if guy from work buys one I was interested in.
It's a two storey which has been renovated two bedrooms upstairs and an ensuite bedroom downstairs, small kitchen, utility, small sitting room with stove downstairs kitchen/sorting room slightly open plan I think and another bathroom possibly downstairs, huge grounds and a garage attached to house for €90k. Nothing to do but move in, maybe put in patch of concrete to improve parking area & I'd like that out back rather than at front. Have emailed selling agent to view.
Similar distance to work, dc will be further from school but au pair would drive them so could leave 30 mins later in morning than bus cost.

Life pity about porch GrinGrin

Girlie I've had sore throat and tickly cough all weekend, allergies have been suggested to me, I'm now sunburnt as well, cough has woken me every 45 mins for past two nights, hoping I'll sleep through tonight. Hope you feel better soon, gargling with a soluble paracetamol is great.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/07/2018 17:45

I’ve registered with Shoppix too. You see receipts all the time around supermarkets so I’m going to start wombling them. Today is the day all vouchers etc start getting saved fo Christmas. Also my ghds are giving up after >15 years so I want wide plate ones next time.

Loveabaconsandwich · 01/07/2018 17:52

I haven't signed up to shoppix yet, so do send me your referral code if you have one fluffy. Receipt hog is ok pays out in amazon vouchers but takes a while

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/07/2018 18:02

It’s 49ECE9K1 Love. Every receipt is worth the same and I like that. I always see receipts on self serve tills and trolleys so it won’t be hard to find them.

They pay out in PayPal too. I wonder if PayPal takes a cut?.

WreckTangled · 01/07/2018 18:18

We've had a great day at my dads. Dd and ds were in the pool all afternoon and they're both exhausted. I am too!

CurlsandCurves · 01/07/2018 18:31

Hi all, can I join?

I did contribute a bit at the start of the year but life kind of got in the way. I really need to get things under control again. Every month we are starting in the overdraft and I’m syphoning off cash from what’s should be savings to overpay the mortgage just to get us back in the Black.

I’m going to do an inventory of the freezer as it’s really full and yet I still find myself buying more fresh meat, chicken etc. Also meal plan tomorrow which I’d got out of the habit of.

My washing machine blew up last week and while a new one was ‘only’ £250 it was still an expense that made us realise that we’ve been sailing a little too close to the wind. In years gone by I wouldn’t have batted an eyelid at that kind of unexpected bill because the money was there. Now it isn’t. More expense in July as I’ve got to pay some more off next years holiday, and DS is going on a school trip overnight to London and needs spending money for that. So yeah, recent weeks have been a bit of a reality check and lead me back here.

One thing I have done that will benefit me long term is I got a refund from a disputed I was embroiled in with a mobile phone shop. Basically they mis sold me a contract I didn’t need. So the few hundred I got back I have put in a separate account and this will see me right for the kids expenses for a good while, things like scouting subs, camps, etc.

Wreck, keep an eye on that horse fly bite. I had one years ago, my ankle blew up like a balloon and I needed steroids to get it down. Sounds like everyone’s had a good day, we’ve been out with the boys, had ice cream, played in the park etc.

Off to check out receipthog and shoppix....

WreckTangled · 01/07/2018 18:44

The bites look fine (excuse my bum 🤣)

The Friendly Frugaleers, halfway through June!
WreckTangled · 01/07/2018 18:45

Also I have to say that's the top of my leg so not as much of my bum as it looks like!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/07/2018 19:04

wreck 😂 the bites don't look too bad, apparently it's a bad year for horse flies.

We are back home, dd has had a nice day out with my mum and work was okay, got some more of my revalidation done so that's good.

Girl cat has gone awol, very very unlike her as she is always around but am trying not to worry too much..... dd has been out shaking the dreamies.

I think it's a cold mammy am snotty now, ridiculous getting a cold in July! ! The house sounds good.

Sounds fun em

QuiteCleanBandit · 01/07/2018 19:06

That doesnt look like a horsefly bite Wreck
Did you see it ?
Looks like bedbug bites 😞

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/07/2018 19:09

Welcome Curls.

Cagliostro · 01/07/2018 19:12

Really intrigued by shoppix, might get that when I get the new phone (no memory on current crappy one, but DSD is giving me her old iPhone when she upgrades). We will be walking through Asda car park any time we go to town once we’ve moved 😂 so would be a lot of opportunity for wombling 😉

Ikea tomorrow! Not buying any furnishings as we will be ordering it all online instead, but taking bets on how much we end up spending in the marketplace. 🧐

Welcome curls. I know what you mean about life getting in the way. I'm usually great at keeping count of everything but have been hopeless since January. I need to start being really careful again.

WreckTangled · 01/07/2018 19:21

Quite definitely a horse fly like I said I was sitting on a chair and it was on the underside. I kept jumping up going 'ouch' and rubbing my leg then when I asked dh to check my leg to see if there was anything there he saw the horsefly. My dbro killed the bastard. There's loads at my parents, they like the water.

Loveabaconsandwich · 01/07/2018 19:24

Welcome back curls

My referral code for shoppix is D5OJDXRL if anyone wants to use it.

QuiteCleanBandit · 01/07/2018 19:25

Oh crikey
You have got off lightly then, the swelling is usually awful #bitter experience.
Whats Shoppix?
And womblingBlush

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/07/2018 19:25

Have you got your family Ikea card Cag?

I estimate it’s 100 receipts per £5 voucher for Shoppix. Plus any surveys you get etc.

I’m planning another free Christmas.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 01/07/2018 19:26

Girlie I'm very afraid as this is how my flu started in January Sad

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/07/2018 19:31

Wombling is picking up dropped receipts, usually for asda ones to use the price check gaurentee.

It helps the environment too.

WreckTangled · 01/07/2018 19:34

Quite I think I jumped up so quickly each time it didn't get time to do much damage
