I love #1 and #2 is a different but close second #3 wouldn't be to my taste at all.

€8.15 on benilyn day & night, I've got tickly throat & slightly stuffed head. Got a little sunburnt today on my arms, nice farmers tan by tues I think Smile

Wolfcub · 30/06/2018 20:39

Life. I like 1&2. I think there is an awful lot you can do to 1. The gardens are small for both but if that’s the payoff fora big house that’s worth it. 3 isn’t my cup of tea. It’s a bit boxy as lonely says

QuiteCleanBandit · 30/06/2018 20:52

Now totally obsessed in wanting to move again Grin
I wouldnt buy a big house with a small garden-they take ages to sell and it is often the case that a chunk of the garden was sold off and there is a newer property crammed in at the end.
If my DC were 8/10 again I would want a bigger garden.

lifelongfrugaleer · 30/06/2018 21:01

Yeah that's where we are, small garden.
The garden is defo more important to me this time. But so is the 3rd bedroom. There are the deal breakers for me.

Loveabaconsandwich · 30/06/2018 22:08

Oooh I love looking at houses and wishing I had a bigger budget

wolf I appreciate your kick and my application form is coming on nicely now. DP said he was surprised I had done so much of it already Grin I have form for getting fed up and giving up half way through. I could submit what I have done, but will do a bit more tomorrow night. I then have to put my big girl pants on as it says visits to the place are essential before interview which fills me with dread but it is a perfect looking job.

I think we spent about £15 of DPs cash at the school summer fair. Then another £13 at Tesco on the bits I forgot with Ocado. Then the DC spent the afternoon in the paddling pool, with the holes stuck together with masking tape 😂

It is so very hot here. I napped most of the afternoon and still feel tired. I really feel for snuggly and others with little ones waking in the night due to heat and light

Glad to hear the caglets are on the mend cag. At least they weren't sick on moving day.

QuiteCleanBandit · 30/06/2018 22:28

I meant ti reply to Snuggly
I used to pin the billowing curtains down with very heavy books on the window ledge.
Also place cold hotwater bottles onto the sheets and keep a water spray and a cool flannel handy .
Mine adored being spritzed at bedtime Grinand as it evaporated they cooled down .
They werent tiny though -sympathy for the constant wake ups.
A cool wipe with a flannel to the face and hands is quite nice though for LO .

Cagliostro · 30/06/2018 22:42

Well hopefully as I haven’t puked I have avoided it. Really weird. It wasn’t a precooked thing BTW but a marinaded thing you cook yourself. It was the taste of the skin they hated and made DD feel weird instantly. Ah well I shall never know! Won’t get it again regardless. They have gone to bed ok now, but DS especially still looks really rough. It’s weird seeing them like that as normally they are irritatingly hyper :o

Still haven’t got a moving day. I’m really relieved that there isn’t one specific day we HAVE to move everything - yes we have to be out by July 27th, but we do have freedom within that. We may even take some more furniture over before the biggest move. Definitely need a tip run soon too. And to work out what will need to be collected by the council if we can’t tip it. I have been making more plans today since I couldn’t get anything practical done (3 very clingy little people, plus me getting dizzy with the heat again)

My ds has now come down with a tummy bug, so I guess my thrilling test on Monday is off, as dh and I would both have to go and now one of us will need to stay home with ds.

Cag I'm glad you are well so far. Fingers cross you keep that way.

LonelyOversharer · 30/06/2018 23:36

cag you are supplementing your fluids to allow for cagletini's milk in this heat aren't you? It's too easy to become dehydrated as your body will steal it from everywhere to make milk (well not quite, but you get my drift). Please take care of you too x

Nice evening working. £24 while watching Robin Hood, the Russel Crowe one (I know he's a twat, but I do like him in films), and a bit of the Mummy 2. Amazon prime finally has some of my old faves on. Every extra penny I can make will help.

Dd1 text me unprompted! Safe at her campsite. The house is odd without her. Even though she mostly stays in her room. What the hell am I going to be like in 3yrs when she goes off to uni or whatever she chooses?

ChristmasSeacow · 30/06/2018 23:52

Plans are coming along there Cag.

Life that’s tricky. I quite like 1 - not the finish obvs but the rooms look a good size. I wish they’d done a floor plan though as that would make it easier to compare to the others but I think the layout is sensible? 2 is decent but I guess it’s hard to compare value for money to 1 as they are in such different conditions. 3 is tricky - no one really chooses those boxes on looks but the space is usually better for the budget so it can be a practical ‘head’ choice, though not ‘heart’. However, that one has an annoying layout downstairs - I’d be quite irritated having to go all the way round a square to get from the sitting room to the dining room. And I’m shallow so I do prefer a bit of curb appeal. Ooh, I do love House porn. Keep it coming.

Snuggly my dd has been sleeping okay even though her room is really warm. I think her crap daytime naps help 🙄 as well as the fact that we’ve not tried to black the room out so she’s got used to sleeping in the light and noise , day and night. We had the flapping blackout problem with DS last year so decided to try without it this summer. DD’s okay with it at the moment but that will probably change as she grows. I quite often put her to bed with wet hair too - kind of like Quite’s spritzing but extreme Grin. DS just messes around at night much more in summer because of the light evenings but last year he used to mess around with his blackout blind anyway so we’re no worse off there, it’s still basically crap. Grr. It is painful. I don’t appreciate being woken up at 5.15am either.

DS is being quite hard work at the moment in general, lots of anxiety which manifests itself as a very low threshold for screeching and meltdowns. I think he’s upset by changes afoot at school - the normal routine is breaking down with end of year activities like sports day and there’s a lot of talk about going up to Year 1. He loves his teacher and has become very clingy towards her since he’s realised he’s going to have someone different next year. He’s also been waking up in the night with bad dreams, and being highly anxious. Sad for him but also very hard work for the rest of us! 😬

Garden picnic thing was really nice today, though it made me sad to hear a couple of school mums reminisce about all the parties they’ve taken their kids to this year. DS Just doesn’t get invited to them, this was the first we’ve been to and probably only because I’m friendly with the mum. Watching him with the other kids (or not, as the case may be) also very starkly highlights the difference between my lovely boy and his peers. So I’m feeling a bit Sad tonight.

Still, DH bought a newspaper today but NSD for me, yay. Made a lemon drizzle cake for an ASD charity bake sale tomorrow, will make cheese scones in the morning so they’re still warm when I take them over.

ChristmasSeacow · 01/07/2018 00:00

Sunny he might bounce back tomorrow. Could your parents not sit with him on Monday, since they are nearby now?

SunnyLikeThursday · 01/07/2018 07:17

They can't really Christmas but thanks for the thought. Dm and I are both very susceptible to tummy bugs, and dm is quite frail, so when there'e a bug in the house, they give us a very wide swerve, and everybody waits while I inevitably catch the bug. I'm sure the tester can fit someone else in to the day, though. Hey ho.

Mission No. 1 for me now is to kill the bug fast so I don't miss my exciting concert outing on Saturday. Also to load ds up with iron, as I've let that slip a bit recently, and it's clearly not working out well for him.

All very cheap things to do, fortunately.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/07/2018 07:57

This is another example of the smaller style bedroom. It's over priced imo

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/07/2018 08:00

Ah sorry the bug has struck sunny and your can't get Tomorrow after you had prepared for it.

Sea, you have every right to feel down. It's hard with 3.

Good tip on the spritzing quite.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/07/2018 08:02

DS and dh doing park run this morning. Need to bake for work tomorrow.

Might go to a car boot this afternoon and sell some bits

ememem84 · 01/07/2018 08:12

Up and ready to go out! I’m competing with my work team in “it’s a knockout” today. Wish me luck!

I only realised the other day what I’ve let myself in for....

Dh is not happy it’s a whole day event. Or that it’s such an early start. I’ve been telling him about this for weeks now. Sigh.

We (as a team) have raised over £1500 for the special care baby unit. I’ve asked dh if he’d like me to stay home and not take part in a charitable event. For the babies.

Wolfcub · 01/07/2018 08:19

There are a lot of early risers this morning. I need to get up sad df is picking me up in a bit to go and take ds sandal shopping. I have a hangover and I don’t want to get up

Sunny hope ds recovers quickly
Em good luck!

WreckTangled · 01/07/2018 08:21

Good luck em!

Life I think that house is overpriced too. I've looked in my area and all that's available is a three bed terrace for £350k. Ex council house.

We're going to my dads today as he has a pool so can cool off. Dh has only just got up and is in a foul mood because his back hurts. Joy.

SunnyLikeThursday · 01/07/2018 08:26

Which house is it life? I only see the map with a list of lots of houses.

Good luck Em. That sounds great, and so properly wholesome to be bashing about and getting messy.

life do you get on well with selling stuff at car boot sales? We tried recently and couldn't sell anything. I then sold two things on ebay to non-payers, so just had to put the stuff back in the attic. I did sell an old Paddington Bear for £27 though, so that was a start.

QuiteCleanBandit · 01/07/2018 08:27

That sounds fun em
Cant DH come and cheer you on ?

lifeI really like that one .
Lovely garden and I would rather have the garden than a bigger bedroom.
Are the DC BB/GG ?
Could they share the bigger room?
Having been through the teen years-its been amazing having the size if garden that we have here massive
Even now DC have their friends over and yesterday they had a BBQ but werent under my feet at all .
Sea thats sad about the parties, if its any consolation kids parties are shit and one of mine hated them.
I know its being invited and part of the group thats important.Flowers
The spritzing started when DD grabbed my posh facial water spritzer - so refreshing and she cooled straight down.
At bedtime I would "water"the children" but it really worked and they slept in the heat.
Sorry abiut the test Sunny
Could a friend go with you ?

SunnyLikeThursday · 01/07/2018 08:29

I think they'll just postpone Bandit. It has to be dh as they want to see both of us. I'm sure it's fine though. Thanks for the sympathy though. I must try harder on the iron in ds's diet. He clearly needs tons of the stuff.

ememem84 · 01/07/2018 08:31

Thanks guys!

sunny yes! It sounds super fun. Gigantic inflatable obstacles water slippery...what could go wrong! Haha

Ds and dh are goinf to come up later on. That was the plan anyway it’s chucking down with rain at the moment. So once it dries out I imagine they’ll pop up.
