Crikey Cag
That cant have been very good with your pain etc
I simply wouldnt be able to get up if I were on the floor due to my shoulder problems.
Aaah it will be lovely when you get new ones.

ememem84 · 26/06/2018 20:30

Good work meadow getting out and about is important! Re bf I’d agree it hurts a bit (or feels uncomfortable maybe not hurts) even when it goes right.

The let down always made me wince a bit too. Although at the time I never knew thee was a proper word for it I just referred to it as “fizzy boobs”

I had a few disasters - sprayed ds in the face a few times..haha!

I can barely walk. Stupid gym. Haha! So many squats.

QuiteCleanBandit · 26/06/2018 20:31

Are cabbage leaves out of fashion Grin😂😂😂😂😂
Aaah lovely an icy cold cabbage leaf on the boobs #happy days

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/06/2018 20:49

Lovely cake
Love that pain after a gym beating em. Must get back tomorrow as finally going to make it into the office. I've been very lax
Cag, my 10 year old has her eye on the day bed that opens out to a king but that might be too big. I will find the name
Well done on getting out meadow. Cabbage leaves for mastitis quite. They are ace though.

Meadow what kind of pain is it.
Does dd latch on and start sucking which causes the pain or is it your nipples that are sore?
The pain on latch and feed is your let down and will get better.
Nipple pain is usually due to latch position not being quite right, your nips getting used to it but that should not cause cracks, not airing your nips or damp bras/pads.

Pain on feeding; get your latch checked at the beginning and throughout as they can slip when tired. There should be no slurping or clicking noise as that is air.

Try various positions as some are better for baby and you.

Hope that helps meadow.

You have made a baby and given bf an awesome go. If you want to carry on don't worry about getting the bf people out.
If you decide to stop as it's too much then so be it. Dd will be fine and your health is equally important, including mental health.
It's not a failure on anyone's part, it is what it is.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 26/06/2018 20:49

Dd is in a standard single bed now Cag she had a midi bed up until this year but had out grown it and wanted something a bit more grown up, it was second hand and has two useful drawers underneath.

Great cake sea

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/06/2018 20:52

YY to lansino it's the gel of god's.

Try lots of skin to skin on bare skin, let her root about. Helps air your boobs but is not glamorous.

Bf is hard, it's portrayed as natural and idolised (not the word I want but hope ykwim) in the press. You and dd are both learning here.

If you want to express do one side while dd is on the other but don't be disheartened of you get nothing.

Recipe for Quite

Meadow you are doing brilliantly.

I’m too hot to cook tea and too hot to eat. I have been to school thing and watered parents garden and picked their strawberries. Will have them for breakfast.

Ran into one parent who was asking very kindly about ds because they had noticed he was not himself and another be a bit of an arse about ds which I did not need. I also spoke to the safeguarding lead - we didn’t bond! Overall a mixed bag of an evening

Hive emailed to tell me my house is too hot. No kidding!

Wolfcub · 26/06/2018 21:00

Cag ds has a white metal framed day bed from ikea which they don’t seem to make anymore all three sides are the same low height. It’s full single bed size and fine for adults staying over. He is coming up to 12 in the next few months so it probably does need replacing within the next year only because it’s not really a grown up looking bed.

SnugglySnerd · 26/06/2018 21:01

Fizzy boobs is exactly what it is like!!!

Cagliostro · 26/06/2018 21:08

Em I got myself in the face the other day 😳😂 was just checking she’d finished (I don’t really get a letdown feeling myself) but apparently she wasn’t 😳🤦‍♀️

Thanks all, that’s actually the one DD likes the look of online life :)

My main worry with beds is how strong they are, particularly for DS. He is rough on everything. Not deliberately, it’s just the lack of spatial awareness and his own strength, and the constant stimming, due to ASD. Nothing lasts around him :( I’m hoping the trampoline will help both of them but it won’t change the fact that he just hurtles into everything, hangs off everything, it’s not being naughty he really can’t help it :( I am constantly on him about it but there’s only so much I can do. OT I spoke to reckons it’s extreme sensory seeking/hyposensitivity/modulation disorder as it’s beyond ‘normal for an autistic child’. But anyway. I just don’t know what will actually be safe and what will last. I’m kind of thinking a plain divan would be best as there’s not really much to wreck with that. Plus he won’t be sharing a room and he does have space for regular storage furniture. Won’t be much floor space left though. But I am just envisaging getting a bed frame that gradually gets weaker and weaker the more he uses it, and having to replace it in a few years anyway.

I really really wanted to have a trundle bed at least though, underneath their beds. As we have people staying over and I was so looking forward to them no longer having to sleep on the sofa.

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 26/06/2018 21:40

I’d say go for a 3’ wide divan with a sprung base. They weigh a lot and feel sturdier than our previous beds.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/06/2018 22:03

I don’t know anyone normal with guest facilities, I know very well off people with guest rooms but usually you fill the rooms you have with children & use Z beds.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 26/06/2018 22:05

Beautiful cake seacow

Meadow I haven't much to add to all the advice you've already got here on bf. With dd she was mixed fed from day 5 on advice from phn Angry bf never really got established and it took until 3.5 years later when I was pregnant with ds for me to find out I wasn't producing much milk because my iron was rock bottom, if I'd known this maybe it might have done. Anyhow with ds, I was probably more relaxed and more determined and he was primarily bf except when I wasn't around & he got formula then as expressing was a disaster for me! Glad to hear you've help coming again tomo. Cabbage leaves are amazing but also advised to dry up boobs so maybe don't use them much, lanshinoh or any of the own brands are amazing, definitely air your boobs as much as you can because dampness can lead to thrush and you don't want that. Signs of this is sensation like pins are being stuck in your boobs and a high temperature and perhaps white spots in baby's mouth.

Well done on first outing Grin

mammynowanauntyIRL · 26/06/2018 22:08

I successfully changed my Fitbit strap following YouTube tutorial and removed links from strap too. Have a feeling YouTube videos will be used more in the future for handyman type jobs that H normally did. Luckily I've been quite independent anyhow so can do quite a lot myself.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 26/06/2018 22:09

Spent €5.80 on can Diet Coke, sweets for dc and cuppa for a friend who happened to be in shop at same time. He didn't realise until he got to till and I was gone that I'd paid for it.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 26/06/2018 22:14

We had two spare rooms at one point fluffy now h is in a room, I'm in another, au pair in another dc in another and remaining one is a playroom, house is not huge bedrooms are just small.
If I purchase my own house it'll be three bed most likely, dc in one, me another, au pair another, dc will have to share until we no longer need au pair, I'm going to get a decent sofa bed for sitting room and sleep there myself when guests come and they can have my bed. Dc can top and tail with their friends or one come in with me while their bed is given to other ones friend

ChristmasSeacow · 26/06/2018 23:08

Any progress on the separation Mammy? I know you were eyeing up properties a while back but needed to agree terms with your H first.

Cagliostro · 26/06/2018 23:25

So DH may have broken his finger(s) at work this evening Hmm

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 27/06/2018 07:00

Oh dear cag

Back to work today so will walk into town. Possibly spendy possibly not depend on the lunchtime gym class

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/06/2018 07:10

The lunchtime class is not my taste. Will go and get a gift for the babies and root in pradamark for holiday clothes

mammynowanauntyIRL · 27/06/2018 08:12

Love it when this happens. Our electricity in Ireland is billed every two months however I transfer money to them in order to avoid a shock. I'll take two weeks off putting money towards electric around time of our holidays now!

Seacow there's absolutely zero progress on separation, yesterday was supposed to be start of mediation but H couldn't make it, and can't fit in next week either so I've rebooked for 10th July, unsure if he's being a jackass or if he genuinely can't make it. Think he's trying to avoid taking time off work for it but that's impossible as it's a part time office. I'm away with dc this weekend and he's away too, I'll inform him of new appointment and if he can't make it I'll have to escalate things. 16 weeks of my life wasted in limbo if that's the case Sad
Four properties I was considering 3 are sale agreed and one a guy from work is considering purchasing! That one I'd planned where I was going to put things, which room was which etc as it had been on the market such a long time Sad

Cag what happened your poor dh? Just when he needs his hands for packing, unpacking and making furniture Shock

mammynowanauntyIRL · 27/06/2018 08:14

Lifelong I'm doing the trial classes for boot camp at the moment that I did last year. Once my health tolerates this weeks classes I'll sign up for 3 times per week for the next 3 weeks. €75

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 27/06/2018 08:51
