Christmas thanks, yes the music teacher is helping me hugely, but he's helping me by hammering grade 5 music theory into my head at high speed, so I can keep up with ds.

It's a bit of a big step for a tired brain. I think ds is a lot more musical than I am but FIL gives opera singing masterclasses, so I'm guessing that is why. #IAmOutOfMyDepth

Cagliostro · 27/06/2018 09:51

Thanks, he reckons it’s not broken today so that’s a relief - he can bend all the joints easily which he couldn’t yesterday. Horrible bruise but it looks like that’s it.

It was crushed by a mobility scooter! He was helping a customer and she went the wrong way and it got squished against a wall or shelf or something.

Off to the new house soon to let the cleaners in 😀

My joules order arrived with a voucher for free sausage rolls! Frugal win. Dresses are nice, fabric on one is a bit stiffer than the others so not quite as comfy but it may soften when washed

Wolfcub · 27/06/2018 11:14

Bloody hell. Pension payment bracket has gone up 2% with wage increase I wasn’t aware of that being a potential issue

Wolfcub · 27/06/2018 12:29

Urgh just totted up school uniform requirements for high school according to uniform policy (all branded with school logo) top half clothes only with no shoes coat bag etc £142. Bloody hell

I just went for my violin lesson, and I've to stand up straight and practise bowing slowly instead of at light speed, which is my usual way. I think I should probably apply that to all parts of my life really. £30 but worth so much more, really

Cag When you take over the water bill go on this site and see if you can get any free water saving devices www.savewatersavemoney.co.uk

mammynowanauntyIRL · 27/06/2018 14:22

wreck and em Envy

€6 on my lunch - southern fried chicken wrap and a can of monster ultra, super healthy today Grin

Grocery shopping this evening €141 incl discount but I've asked about last weeks discount and hoping they'll apply that too bringing total to €127.00

fluffy in my hurry setting up standing order for biggest credit card I deleted the direct debit and then failed to set up standing order as well. Will ring them to sort it out and then ring my own bank because I can't make a payment to the card I balance transferred to either until I call to set it up.

wolf is H still contributing to ds's needs?

Cagliostro · 27/06/2018 15:37

Those who know about cleaning stuff... what’s good for stainless steel sinks please? It’s clean, but not shiny #firstworldproblem

Nsd. Woooooo

ememem84 · 27/06/2018 15:53

We’re having a dinner picnic this evening. Dh wanted me to pick ds up wait for him to finish work drive through the traffic home make dinner then we’d go to the beach.

I took the executive decision to take dinner with us. So under my desk I have my picnic bag (with wraps, a bottle and some snacks for ds, some toys, a couple of books etc, picnic blankets) in fridge at work are cold southern fried chicken and salad. Then I’ll grab some chips from the cafe.

I’m picking Ds up from nursery (after I’ve put my short shorts on!) and then we’re going to the park for our picnic.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/06/2018 15:58

Shiny sinks Cag.

Wolfcub · 27/06/2018 16:10

Boden sale selection arrived. In a bloody miracle for Boden it all fits so I’m keeping it all and I think a couple of pieces can be put to use for work after the holiday so that’s good. Joules dresses definitely not work suitable but I knew that when I bought them and they were a lot cheaper than the Boden ones!

ChristmasSeacow · 27/06/2018 16:23

Cif (formerly known as Jif). That old fashioned cream stuff. Only thing that gets my sink properly shiny.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 27/06/2018 16:43

Went to The Range this afternoon, got quite a lot of toiletries (toothpaste 69p!) Plus bird seed and loads of other bits for £34. I'd forgotten how cheap it is, cheaper than Poundland for lots of stuff!!

Going down to aldi in a bit...

Cagliostro · 27/06/2018 16:57

Thought you were being flippant fluffy didn’t actually realise that was a product name 😳😂

Both look good, thanks :) might try the cif one first as that says it’s ok for plastic, so I could use that on the one here as well

I do want to gradually move to eco products/homemade stuff in the long run, but for now in terms of getting this place and the new house as decent as possible... well, fuck it I want all the chemicals 😂😳

Nsd here too. Was late picking the dc up from after school club so will probably have to pay for that but should only be an extra £2.

Wolfcub · 27/06/2018 17:08

Cag barkeepers friend for shiny sinks and shifting any grout here. Also good for removal of tea stains from worktops

mammynowanauntyIRL · 27/06/2018 17:11

Vinegar is good for most things cag
I also thought fluffy was being flippant.

Free mediation rebooked for 10th July, hopefully he'll be there and we can do this the most economical way

Wolfcub · 27/06/2018 17:11

Mammy yes he’s contributing, I will only take the gov calculation of child support though and half life insurance (he is almost uninsurable so it’s his fault it’s too high and I refuse to pay it on my own). This month I am also charging him half the balance of the scout trip as he was supposed to be responsible for all scout costs and half for a new waterproof for ds. Given I’ve bought ds an entire new wardrobe this month because nothing fits I don’t think that’s unreasonable. I will expect him to contribute to school uniform but I am living in fear of him losing his job and having to find everything on my own

mammynowanauntyIRL · 27/06/2018 17:17

wolf hope you didn't find that question invasive, was just concerned for you. Why don't you get him to contribute to ds's clothes too, especially if there might come a time when he can't contribute?

Now that you mention life insurance, mine will probably come down a lot on next mortgage as it was high due to h's age.

Today I text H that last installment for paying back money to his fund from dsd's rent is ready in our joint account. €270 balance, €900 paid back since Jan (my friend using our au pair repaid it so wasn't coming out of money for everything else) Glad to be clear of this as he thought he did us a massive favour giving us a loan out of it when booking.com charged me the full whack last Dec. Now the only way money is owed is from him to me and not the other way around.

Wolfcub · 27/06/2018 17:33

No Mammy not at all. Here is the only place I talk about what’s going on and it helps to know you are all here
