Oh no Life. Hope her foot is ok.

Cute pic Em. I love your cat shirt!

Food shopping done. Absolute essentials only plus ice cream because DD and I will want ice cream in the hot weather and it was cheaper to get a load in Aldi than to keep buying them from the local shop. So I think that's frugal. Sort of!

ChristmasSeacow · 26/06/2018 03:37

Too hot to sleep. And so I’m lying awake worrying about all sorts of things, including the fact that it is 27C in the baby’s bedroom Hmm

ChristmasSeacow · 26/06/2018 06:38

Well, I went to bed at 11.30pm and was then awake from 2.30am. Right around 5am, when I started to feel sleepy, DD woke up.

It’s going to be a long day.

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/06/2018 06:57

Fractures clinic today £2.50 parking.
Keep the blinds/curtains shut today sea. Can you open your loft hatch too.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/06/2018 07:32

Snuggly Have you got your till receipt? Topcashback snap and save are doing £1.50 back on ice cream and lollies. Started yesterday.

ememem84 · 26/06/2018 07:42

Ds is looking cool in his 3/4 trousers. He’s playing on the floor while I’m having breakfast. He keeps reaching for my feet! He’s obsessed with my toes! Haha!

SnugglySnerd · 26/06/2018 08:10

Yes I have Fluffy. They are Aldi own brand will that still work? I tested one last night. Just to make sure DD would definitely like them Wink

WreckTangled · 26/06/2018 08:11

Em ds used to come up to me and try to suck my toes

mammynowanauntyIRL · 26/06/2018 08:17

Wreck I'm not funny about feet but that would freak me out

SnugglySnerd · 26/06/2018 09:13

Ds was just sitting on my lap reading a story and DD2 came and nibbled his toes. He giggled so much and she kept doing it to make him laugh. Cutest thing ever!

SunnyLikeThursday · 26/06/2018 12:53

Everything is very complicated here. Just one big rattling complication after another. Cheap to manage, but fiddly.

I'm being better about keeping my spreadsheet up to date though, so that's good.

ememem84 · 26/06/2018 13:05

Eye drops done. Ds had red Thai curry for lunch. It’s mostly all over him. He smells delicious. Haha!

We had a cuddle after the eye drops and then a bit of a play and patted the nursery dog.

I had a walk back to work (up to 5500 steps now!) and grabbed a sandwich. £3.25.

Gym later and a walk home. Phew.

It is gloriously hot here.

Cagliostro · 26/06/2018 13:12

Oh dear sunny anything we can help with?

Bit more decluttering done here. Drop in the ocean really but still.

Wobbly tired dizzy today, may give tap a miss. Frugally defrosting some bolognese sauce, might have to get DD to cook the pasta (she’s done it before a couple of times) if I can’t stand up long enough!

DH has 19 non work days up to and including our last day we can be in this house (27th July) - he’s taken a bit of holiday mid July. Eeeeeeek. I’ve written them in a list so we can gradually plan the time. Cleaners in tomorrow for general house and oven clean. Carpets cleaned on Thursday. Hopefully moving some stuff over on Friday (just boxes of stuff we don’t need ATM, so we can get more space to work in here). Ikea on Monday to decide what we need, will hopefully order it that evening and arrange delivery for a day we can just go and wait in the new house.

Plan is to build the Ikea stuff and then the Caglets can be kept busy unpacking into that from the boxes that are already there.

Thanks Cag no I don't think so. Just silly things, like a misunderstanding with a friend, and a need for a letter to get ds's special diet at school, which for complicated reasons, can't be provided. And me working super-hard to sort out my general health, and the ASD test next week. It's just everything all the time.

Also my mission to help self and ds involves a lot of music, which I think is absolutely the right thing, but it's making my brain overheat. Here's the problem:

Ds is playing the French horn and piano, and I'm playing the clarinet, piano and violin.

The Clarinet and horn are transposing instruments so if you put a C in the top of the horn you get an F out of the bottom. Likewise, if you put a C in the top of the clarinet you get a B flat out of the bottom. So when I try to write music for us to play together it gets fearsomely complicated. I'm working on the flump theme tune and the womble theme tune just now.

Also ds is just blazing through his piano book and now needs me to play the teacher accompaniment, which is very very hard because I'm crap at the piano and so I'm learning that on the fly.

The violin is pretty well behaved, and my wrist is not hurting, thank goodness. Everything in all of this would be easier if I just could quickly get myself up to speed for grade 5-ish music theory, and lots of people keep saying why don't I "just do it". OMG.

None of this costs any money, which is glorious, but my brain is getting very hot.

First world problems...

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/06/2018 15:10

Snuggly Yes it works with aldi. It’s only for the first 10,000 receipts though so best to get in there.

£2 cat litter.
£2 Poundland foundation for my legs & powder to blot the sunblock on my neck. My hair gets sunblock on it otherwise.

Wolfcub · 26/06/2018 15:17

It’s too darn hot to want to do anything. I’ve had my head in finances all day and it’s not my thing at all. I’ve given up. Having five minutes sit and then will water garden. Need to do dparents garden later too.
The bank accounts are down to 27p and 70p and that’s only because I transferred money from savings. Roll on payday. I am owed about £90 in expenses. The claim has gone in but I doubt I will see that before payday. I’m supposed to be going out for dinner on Thursday but I reckon I have just enough to cover it in my wallet as I won’t be drinking

Loveabaconsandwich · 26/06/2018 15:39

Quick check in...

cag I think someone posted earlier that Ikea is doing half price delivery at the moment, although you have to spend £300 Shock

Boiling here. DD2 is crashed out asleep in the pushchair

Plumber due any moment to look at shower which keeps running cold. I fear we need a new one

Loveabaconsandwich · 26/06/2018 15:58

I got excited earlier as I thought a package left on the doorstep might be a late birthday present. Instead it was a month's worth of dishwasher tablets to test Grin Frugal though!

Out for dinner tonight with an old friend. Hopefully less than £15 as I have a money off voucher.

Plumber is running late.

Cagliostro · 26/06/2018 16:14

£300 will be surpassed scarily quickly easily reached TBF 😂 Caglets don't even have beds so there's a lot to buy. And kallax

Disappointed Caglets as I'm not well enough to take them to tap today. End of term next week and that'll be the last time I have to do the two buses each way... We are moving ten minutes up the road!

Anyway they were bored and now DD has her phone I have let them walk to the park alone to meet friends until 6pm. First time they've gone without me being there at all. It's 15min walk each way. DD has to give me a quick ring at half five though.

OMG

Aah sunny that amount of transposing would fry my brain too! It's lovely you are sharing music with your DS though. My two haven't really taken to it :( mind you we are going to be a lot more structured in our home ed after summer so I may introduce piano/recorder at a regular time. Or I'll look into council tuition.

Cag brave mommy alert 🚨
Hope you get some rest while you've only cagletini to watch over

Cagliostro · 26/06/2018 17:49

I'd love to say I've been productive in this time, but all I've really done is anxiously watch my phone and eat cereal

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/06/2018 17:57
