wolf will be strange for you to have everyone away together, try to do something nice for yourself too, you became a single mother overnight, this is possibly your first chance to breathe since then.

lonely it definitely wears off.

Question for mothers with older children, when do they stop coming into the bed in the middle of the night. Ds came in at 3.30am and turned on the main light in the room, then refused to either go to toilet or go back to his own bed so I'd to go find a plastic sheet for under him in my bed, and then whinged when I turned off the light again as he couldn't see. I'm afraid I was rather sharp with him, I said deal with it or go back to your own room where the lamp is on Blush He fell asleep and was comatose in my bed when I left!

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/06/2018 08:36

Life you've already done what I would've done. Feet don't bruise much. See how she is after school.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/06/2018 08:47

M&S sent my dh a coupon for free socks near his birthday, I've just received 10% off food, 20% off clothes Hmm

QuiteCleanBandit · 25/06/2018 09:59

Start of 3 weeks glorious leave plus minor surgery

OmgWreckmy heart would be pounding at that.Glad Wreckcat is ok !
Lonely you are still young Im ancient
mammymine are almost grown up.
They only got up in the night if poorly and then calpol, drink and firmly back to their own beds.
I would be sharp as well and they all slept like logs as the message never wavered from "back to your own bed"
I think I had enough with ebf the lot of them after that I did not want hot sweaty whiny DC in my bed kicking me Grin
Gawd that sounds callous but they were super happy and felt safe and loved their beds and still do!
Good sleep habits are essential to happiness/health imho
mammy it sounds like your DS is probably unsettled by whats going on and needs reassurance and firm boundaries/routine .ie its ok ,Im here -now back to your own bed
em your DH loves the "blame game "doesnt he?
Nasty that he is snarky that you are feeling better Hmm
Why wouldnt he be happy his DW is feeling well/better?
Plus its his own fault if he slept in until 12 and also off that he thinks he is entitled to nap on the beach as well .
Im sure you will have words!Grin
Its roasting here -Dcat is making me smile as he is sleeping on the cold floor with his feet on the cold metal chair legs .
Clever Dcat Smile

Thanks for all the birthday wishes for DD :o still can’t believe she’s 11.

I wouldn’t say she will be a frugaleer just yet, normally money burns a hole in her pocket (and I’m quite glad we are past the jojo bow phase 🙄😂) but she’s never had the grand sum of £40 before 😂 she may use it for clothes as there’s some bits she wants, but she is also outgrowing lots and I’m not sure where the balance is of providing what she actually needs while also encouraging her to take some responsibility for fripperies etc...

Can I admit I am now getting really excited about moving! Especially the fact we can actually decorate (eventually). I have never lived in a decorated house - I grew up in a horribly run down place with hoarder parents (in fact the decades of “someday we will do it up” was one of the main reasons my mum refused to live with dad anymore! They sold up and it’s now being done up to its full potential by new owners), I lived with a broken window in my bedroom for years just covered in plastic 🤔. And the two private rentals we’ve had no choices in anything and this place is still trade paint/horrible carpet.

But now although obviously it is not our own property, we can decorate it however we want, we can choose what WE like, and I know it will take ages to actually do it but OMG I am just thinking of what colours we can use, and wallpapers and where shelves can go and the place can actually look how WE want it to and nobody can tell us not to! Having never had that, it is really exciting!

DH is giving notice on this place as I type! It is all very real 😱 landlady is surprised we have given the heads up and not just left?! Maybe they have had bad experiences or something but surely a phone call is not that unusual 🧐

Dh is ok this morning. He did have a patent fail though (and tried to blame me). Ds rolled off our bed. I’d left him with dh to sort out catfaces box and water. And dh was getting ready for work.

Apparently “someone should always be watching him. You can’t just leave him alone emily” told him to shove it. I hadn’t left him alone. He was right there. On the bed.

Ds thought it was funny though - I heard the thud and a cry and then picked him up and told him he was silly. A silly silly rolly boy! He laughed. Phew.

At work today. May pop into JoJo at lunchtime and see if I can grab some bargains in the sale for ds.

Taytocrisps · 25/06/2018 14:21

You all need to talk to talk me out of buying a summery dress because I never wear dresses and also it's €57. But I can still hear it's siren song........

mammynowanauntyIRL · 25/06/2018 14:33

Tayto wait for it to come up in the sale & then if you still want it go for it. I think you're being very unfair though expecting us to discourage you when we haven't seen a pic Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/06/2018 14:37

They mellow em, you’ve just got to not kill him before that.

£2.50 Tesco
£5 aldi. All I do in summer is buy salad & bloody eggs.

ememem84 · 25/06/2018 15:11

£29 boots (using points - I have a ton of points) on: bath mat, swim nappies, couple of toys for ds (swimming penguin thing and some balls - ones with noisy things inside....)

£22 Jojo in real cash. The rest was a voucher - shorts and a couple of pairs of leggings; a new sun hat and some sunnies for ds

£13 M&S fruit

£3 sandwich.

Taytocrisps · 25/06/2018 16:16

It's this dress. Sadly, I possess flabby pasty limbs unlike the model's golden arms and legs.

The Friendly Frugaleers, halfway through June!
Taytocrisps · 25/06/2018 16:31

Forgot to say that it's in Fat Face. The picture's a bit meh but it's really nice irl. As I said, I don't wear dresses much and it will only be sunny enough to wear that dress about twice a year in Ireland but I could wear it this week.

ChristmasSeacow · 25/06/2018 16:36

Thanks Fluffy. I can get some double base gel tomorrow. Out of interest why shouldn’t it be rubbed in? I won’t be able to put my feet up in the morning, I’ll have to hope it doesn’t make my feet too slippery!

Are you feeling any better Meadow? It is generally pretty uncomfortable afterwards and if you’ve had an assisted delivery there’ll be the bruising etc too so it’s going to be a bit painful. But if you are still finding it hard to deal with it’s worth talking to your community midwife or GP.

Gotta change a nappy, back later

Cleaner £50 but otherwise NSD.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/06/2018 17:48

It seems to form a film that’s rapidly absorbed into skin, if you rub it in it doesn’t absorb as well. It soaks in really quickly though considering it’s liquid paraffin. I’ve never had to sit around waiting to put shoes on and it won’t mark bedding.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/06/2018 17:51

So after she was not happy walking to school I turned dd around and sent her home, took ds to school. 3 hours later it's a suspected fracture of the growth plate in her foot. Back to fracture clinic tomorrow for either nothing or a pot or anything in between. £2.50 parking
No other spends
Worked from home.

Mammy dd is 10 3/4 and come in now and again but falls straight back to sleep usually after a bad dream. Many times I've not realised she is there but we have a big bed and I sleep deeply

It is a nice dress but I'm not sure it's worth £57.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/06/2018 17:52

Em, totally the right reaction.

LonelyOversharer · 25/06/2018 18:24

Another good day. A nsd too (so far), but dh did some food shopping. I've not had enough to drink today, forgot my bottle of juice this morning. Nippy headache from lack of caffiene.

mammy my ds is just 6, and comes through 5 nights out of 7 at some point. We never return him to bed, as I cba and dp is a softee. He is bony and sweaty and wriggles. He co-selpt anyway until 4. Dd3 started to stay in her bed every night at about 7.

I'm wondering what your dh will be like when ds is crawling at speed em they really don't stay where you leave them, head for the most dangerous thing possible and do not respond to 'stop' or 'no'.

I'm glad you're getting excited cag. My house is like a rainbow. I care not. But we live in hoardy chaos. I was brought up in a 'do not leave a mess, not a crumb, put that away now' house, so I swung the other way! It will be interesting to see how my dc go.

WreckTangled · 25/06/2018 19:04

Neither of mine come into our room at night unless ill. Dd sometimes struggles to sleep but has to go back to her own bed. They're 8&5.

ememem84 · 25/06/2018 19:18

Ahem. We are too cool here.

The Friendly Frugaleers, halfway through June!
Loveabaconsandwich · 25/06/2018 20:02

I got the 10% off food and 20% off clothes from m&s too for my birthday fluffy

Yay, to moving cag! Glad you are getting excited. We're all excited for you Smile

£1.50 back on Ice lollies on TopCashBack for a few days. Appears to be any brand.

Glad you all think my DP is odd about his not leaving parties at the same time as others generally. Glad it is not me being the strange one! Grin

I've bought some Clarks sandals off amazon with my birthday GV. They dropped in price too by £13 since yesterday. I hope they are nice in real life.
£3 on a meal deal as I was too lazy to make my lunch. Must.not.get.back.in.this.habit

The novelty of going to work does wear off lonely. But it is much more tolerable if you like what you are doing or can see the value in what you are doing there.

Hope you are having a good holiday laska are you having a sneaky catch up whilst you are away as you miss us?

I really need to get off MN and start this job application I need to write. I still haven't started but I have another 1.5 weeks to write it which means I have no urgency with it yet.

Wolfcub · 25/06/2018 20:25

Cag I’m so pleased you’re starting to get excited

Fab pic Em.

Em so let me get this straight. Ds and dh were in the same room and somehow it’s your responsibility alone to watch ds? Someone needs a serious fecking head wobble and it isn’t you!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 25/06/2018 20:27

Dd occasionally comes in at night if she has had a bad dream or she is ill, there is no way it would be a regular thing though as I'm a light sleeper and dd keeps me awake!!

Too cool for school em 😎

Sooooooo hot today! Nsd although have written a cheque for dds school trip £15.

Wolfcub · 25/06/2018 20:30

Ordered a skirt in the fat face sale £22 with 23p cashback

ememem84 · 25/06/2018 20:51

wolf yep. I’ve wobbled his head. I asked how he’d cope if I wasn’t here to watch ds. Answer “id manage”so my response was “so do it while I’m here”

He’s also just done the same thing this evening. Insisted I watch ds while he’s I. The same room. I put cushions around ds and had a shower.

When I’m getting ready in the mornings ds is usually on the bed with me. I can see him in the mirror. I also keep popping out when I’m cleaning my teeth (we have an en suite). Or I clean my teeth sat on the bed. I make it work.

We collected ds from dparents this evening and Dm invited us for dinner which was kind.

Ds appears to have conjunctivitis again. Sigh. He’s back at nursery properly for two weeks and another thing. Dm took him to the pharmacy though and got him some drops. Annoyingly (although super kind of her) they’re 4 time’s a day ones and not on prescription ) so I’m either going to have to pop into nursery at lunchtime tomorrow and give them to him (Nursery won’t do meds unless prescribed which is absolutely fair enough) or do them first thing, then at drop off, then at pick up then at bedtime. I need to read the pack to see how many hours to leave between them. Dm did them at 3 I did them at 8. So maybe we could have snuck another one in there. Maybe not.

Just as well I bought him the sunnies really....

Cagliostro · 25/06/2018 20:53

Ah bugger. Well we are off to a great start with the new house, DH went to phone up to pay rent (it’s every Monday, obviously we have filled in a DD form but they said they don’t always set it up straight away Hmm)

HA website said phone line is open 9-6. So he phoned up after his meeting at 5.30... message says it’s closed as the line is open 8-5... WTF 😡🤦‍♀️

Will take a screen shot and tell them off for their out of date website tomorrow
