Oh nothing worse than a hot train and a hang over

mammynowanauntyIRL · 13/06/2018 08:59

wolf Chocolate, salty crisps and lots of water to rehydrate, nothing worse than stuffy public transport when you're hungover. Did you enjoy the night?

laComtessede · 13/06/2018 10:28

Spends yesterday
£12 supermarket

ememem84 · 13/06/2018 12:22

Full fat coke and salt and vinegar crisps.

ememem84 · 13/06/2018 12:58

Waiting to meet dh for lunch. I am sat outside just people watching. So far have seen some gorgeous summer work outfits.

Must. Not. Buy. New. Clothes.

We brought lunch with us today but it will keep until tomorrow. If dh hasn’t eaten his may suggest we head to French cafe for crepes. Mmm.

Cagliostro · 13/06/2018 13:58

Mmmm crepes.

Having quite a productive day here. Decluttering and stuff, feeling much more positive.

Need to message some more cleaners though as I want a range of quotes ideally.

Also DH phoned the fuel provider for the new house, obviously we couldn’t get all the details yet but they talked through the process of getting the prepay meter removed, AND it doesn’t cost anything thankfully (HA lady said some providers charge for this).

Who here has a smart meter, can anyone explain to a total ignoramus how it works please? As they can put one in when they take the prepay away.

LonelyOversharer · 13/06/2018 14:44

They are fab cag. All it means is the meter talks to the elec company, so no more meter readings, and no more estimated bills. You'll probably be given a thing you plug in that shows you how much elec you are using, flashes red when you boil the kettle etc, then you can play the "how low can we go" game. But in real terms, they just show you whats going on, the clever bit is getting correct bills.

Bought the last (budgeted for) pressie for dd2, a big pack of fimo and some tools £31 (with sweeties) in the range, and £18 in tescos. Off meal plan tonight, chilli instead of sausages.

QuiteCleanBandit · 13/06/2018 15:09

Cag
Top tip with Smart meters is to take a photo of your usage on the 30th/31st of the month and then you can compare with your billing to ensure its accurate.
Its reduced our consumption and bill massively .

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/06/2018 15:26

£9 aldi
£3 Tesco.
£13 john lewis, sandals reduced from £55 and I had voucher. I should get 90p cashback from kidstart which will release £10 cashback I have with them.

£10 in nectar points paid out.

Cagliostro · 13/06/2018 15:43

Thanks both and that’s a great tip! I shall write it all down in the utilities section of the Moving Notebook

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/06/2018 15:52

Cag If it’s a recent newbuild it’s likely not to drain surface water into the sewerage system but into a soakaway instead to prevent flooding. There will be a form on your waterboards website to fill in. Pm me if you need it printing, I have free stamps and envelopes at home.

It knocked about £60 a year off my bill, other areas might charge more.

You’ll need led lightbulbs too.

Cagliostro · 13/06/2018 16:09

Ooh yes I remember you mentioning that! I’ll add that to the book. It was built around 2012 I think.

LED bulbs already on the plan. I know you’d never forgive me otherwise Wink

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/06/2018 16:31

I would take it as a personal insult 😂

CremeEggThief · 13/06/2018 17:05

5 mile walk in the countryside to clear my head. £1.80 bus back.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 13/06/2018 17:09

Busy day at work, tired now and cba to do all the other jobs that need doing! !

Nsd.

Dd has a friend coming for tea on Fri and has been invited to another party, this is real progress bless her!!

Cagliostro · 13/06/2018 17:14

Aw that’s great girlie sounds like she’s really settling in now!

Loveabaconsandwich · 13/06/2018 18:45

My day at work was a bit like an episode of eastenders, all that was missing was someone yelling "get outta ma pub" 😂

Drama aside, just £12 spent in tescos on a top up shop

I didn't finish the job application on Monday so didn't apply. I may regret it if the work drama continues. On the plus side, as drama unfolds I am so pleased I don't manage any staff anymore!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 13/06/2018 19:57

€4.40 printing photos and €1.89 on sweets for dc after dds gymnastics show. She got a medal and was absolutely thrilled(they all did!)

SnugglySnerd · 13/06/2018 21:14

Sounds like an interesting day, Love! I've had 2 boys literally shouting me down at school today. I wonder why I do this job sometimes!

NSD though and dh just made me some Marmite toast. Is there anything better than toast made by someone else?

Wolfcub · 13/06/2018 21:18

Just home. I am beyond exhausted and there’s been no time to eat in the way home so pizza ordered

SnugglySnerd · 13/06/2018 22:29

That's a good reason for a pizza Wolf.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/06/2018 06:39

www.hotukdeals.com/deals/50-off-bedding-linen-eg-slumberdown-pillow-pair-450-black-reversible-duvet-set-4-pair-of-pillow-cases-1-tesco-direct-2957371. Tesco bedding sale. Duvets, mattress protectors etc half price. Topcashback were still doing cashback the other day when I checked.

Free cider on checkoutsmart.

Wolfcub · 14/06/2018 07:22

Thanks Fluffy I will have a look at that.

Woken up still exhausted and all my crap joints are burning/screaming. Grumpy Wolf! Very busy work day today I don’t even think I’m going to set my desk (kitchen table) up I’m just going to work from the sofa with a hot water bottle and a dailymailsadface

Need to return a couple of bits to primarni on Saturday whilst ds had contact and will need to spend £15 on stadium parking in Manchester on Tuesday evening. Other than that I need to watch the pennies a bit as I’ve been a little slack this week.

Will put in expenses today and reclaim what I can.

Have a lovely frugal day everyone

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/06/2018 07:40

Yip, work from your sofa wolf.

The fridge is decimated so will need to but fruit today. DS wants goalie gloves, dd an unlined note book. Hair cut tonight £40.
I'm putting my expenses in Friday.

Losing weight is not frugal as non of my trousers fit properly now. Have a bit of birthday money but spent £35 on some tan sandels from Clarks/eBay last night.

The adresha river if anyone in interested

LonelyOversharer · 14/06/2018 08:21

I'm going the other way life, getting larger (I yoyo in a slow 2 year cycle), so all the lovely summer things I bought last year do not fit. Am back in my oldest scruffiest stuff, which fits, but looks perpetually dirty. Sigh. Cba fixing it at the moment (ie losing weight). Buying new clothes is out.

Quiet night here, but ds was testy this morning. Called me a loser then screamed when I left him to it. He then called his dad "a big fart" which although hilarious (and true) is still inappropriate. He's been a bit spoilt for a long time. This is changing as we are all a bit sick of him being in charge.

Anyway, it's blowing a gale here, so once I've checked the garden I'm just going to work today.
