You’re all probably right. I tend to overthink these things. 😳

Wolfcub · 12/06/2018 10:26

Cag I think it will be fine. There are loads of people doing mlm type roles, those are self employed work from home and of those a proportion must live in HA houses surely. A couple of piano lessons must be exceptional. I think writing to your MP if it isn’t is the right approach.

MeadowHay · 12/06/2018 10:39

Cag I think like Fluffy said they just put those restrictions in to avoid crazy stuff like ridiculous amounts of traffic, offensive smells, industrial-level noise etc from small businesses. What you and DH do shouldn't cause any problems for anyone over and above normal household family noise tbh so I'd probably not have even mentioned it to them and just get on with it. Try not to worry Flowers. House sounds great. We have a big cupboard in our hallway that we use mostly as a pantry. It's great, I will kind of miss it when we move but then we won't need it anymore because we hardly have any kitchen cupboards here and we will have a lot more in our new house. MIL has a dryer and dishwasher in her utility room I'm not sure if that's an option for you? Sorry I did read back but bad short-term memory Blush. The table-top dishwasher sounds great. I agree regarding local selling/community sites are a good place to look for recommendations for a cleaner. Lots of people advertise and look for cleaners in my local groups here.

Lonely That's great about the £500 from your DM! I like the colour of your shoes. Also good news about the ferret neutering lol.

Whoever asked about Lindy Bop - I love the style of their clothes but find quality a bit hit and miss and sizing is also odd, it's generally on the small side but then really depends on the item of clothing. I've ordered a few things from them years ago and though I really like the styles I don't think I'd really order from them again because it's too much of a faff when stuff arrives and there's threads coming off it everywhere or it's tiny and having to return it etc. Having said that, that was a few years ago so it might be better now.

The newborn class was quite good. DH and I have both enjoyed our few antenatal classes, they have helped my anxiety feeling a bit more prepared about things and the staff at the hospital are all so lovely. I had a missed call yesterday from the 'parent infant partnership' organisation that the PNMH team referred me too, can't believe they contacted me so quickly, I need to call them back or she said she would call me again. Somehow need to get the courage to answer the phone Blush.

Baby is not fully engaged yet - was '3/5 palp' at my appt yesterday - but am I right that can happen quite quickly and isn't necessarily an indication of when labour will start? I'm still on AL this week so want baby to come anytime from Saturday as my full pay stops then anyway Grin. But have a feeling I will be be overdue but I'm quite anxious about the prospect of induction so I hope not...

WreckTangled · 12/06/2018 10:48

Tried getting tickets for kids week London theatre and the website kept crashing and then they'd all gone. So typical.

LonelyOversharer · 12/06/2018 10:55

Our washer and dryer are in the conservatory, chest freezer too. I do like the idea of having them in a bathroom, it seems more sensible than the kitchen for some reason.

We have a slim line dishwasher, so takes up less room (tiny kitchen), but still manage fine with the 6 of us.

cag they are probably stunned that you even asked about wfh. I bet no one has ever asked before! Or declared it to the hmrc either. I paint from home, for a company; but dp works for himself in the shed. We both declare too. They know your circumstances, try not to worry.

And as for the piano, trust me, there are worse things to live next door to!

Dp ordered the wrong tyres for the car. He is cross. I am not in the least bit surprised. It will be fine.

laComtessede · 12/06/2018 11:28

Sounds very exciting @Cagliostro. But stressful too, so look after yourself.

NSD yesterday.

Cagliostro · 12/06/2018 15:30

Yes I think the changes all happening at once is what’s stressing me out. All the unknowns, will they be nice neighbours... argh. I don’t remember being so stressed about all this when we moved last time.

Bought some plastic tubs today as packing up more games and things like my piano books. Getting rid of some toys too. And another home ed parent has offered us a load of packing materials as they’ve just moved house.

WreckTangled · 12/06/2018 16:49

Just had to rescue this poor bird! Heard some very loud cheeping and found it behind the toy box

mammynowanauntyIRL · 12/06/2018 17:19

Awww poor thing wreck hope it's ok

I've managed to successfully do balance transfer from Tesco CC so I decided to do my possibly last order of Boost. Have €30 for bowling arcade near us and €40 for a waterworld type place.

The nice me is saying give one to H as some of the points were earned with joint money. At least dc will get two nice days out as a result.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/06/2018 17:21

The cat was just looking after it Wreck. Honest.

20p photocopying.

LonelyOversharer · 12/06/2018 17:48

I haven't spent any money today, yet. Will have to pop out for milk and possibly some chocolate in a bit, so about a fiver.

Tea was left over lamby mince (mostly rice actually) in a pastry case, with butternut squash on top with the extra pasty grated on; and cheesy leeks with some pasta. Very full now.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 12/06/2018 18:16

Looks like a fledging wreck what have you done with it? We are still getting lots of birdies on the feeder, starlings, blue tits, sparrows and a robin today. Luckily girl cat is a completely useless hunter, they aren't even scared of her!!

Am watching dd in this dance festival tonight, £6 for a ticket.

Also bought two recliner chairs for the garden, I shopped around and found two for £54 in argos which seemed to be the cheapest. Will be lovely to lie out on in the summer and read my book.

In frugal news I cancelled girl cats cattery booking for our summer holiday, neighbours boy is going to pop in and feed her for £15 which will be a saving of £60!!!

WreckTangled · 12/06/2018 18:19

Girlie we took it outside near the hedge and it flew in.

QuiteCleanBandit · 12/06/2018 18:30

I would suggest getting in early with your neighbours Cag so that they know and that you maintain lines of communication.

Being honest our last neighbours were "musical "not at all and it was hell with tuba practice all the time plus cello.
Luckily we knew they were only staying for 6 months or I would have complained.
It was utterly miserable listening to the grating racket and they were retired so it was all day and evening Hmm
They didnt improve one jot the whole time.Wink
A friend teaches and has a soundproof wall which I think is very reasonable .
Other noise such as children playing in the garden/lawn mowing is expected but unwanted noise particularly constant practice isnt fair.
I think the business from home thing is so you dont open a factory or something like that.

Cag, take advantage of the overlap in your tenancy to clean the new house before you move in and the old once you've moved out. That's how I've done it the past three moves. It won't take that long to clean the new house, as it will be your kitchen cupboards, white goods, bathroom and windows to focus on. I did mine over a few afternoons, to cope with my fatigue. Regarding decorating, in my area most decorators charge by the day and the going rate (I've asked a few people recently, who are well off enough to get the decorators in!) is about £100 a day, so I think it would be substantially more in your area. I'm only starting to think about decorating now, almost a year after moving in here. I borrowed a wallpaper steamer and stripped all the horrible wallpaper off, over the last two weeks. I'm not sure the walls are in good enough condition to paint, so I need to look into skimming costs, at least for the sitting room, as my next step.

Lonely, I was really pleased to hear about your bonus. Delicious looking cake too!Smile

Spends- £4.40 bus fares yesterday and about £4 in the Co-open. Today: £4.65 in a café; £9.12 Aldi; £1.20 bus home.

CremeEggThief · 12/06/2018 18:59

Co-op*!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 12/06/2018 19:12

So just had a delivery of cooked crab claws in exchange for some eggs, and my chicken curry was just ready so they'll be on tomorrow's menu Grin

Need to do my grocery shopping tonight for delivery tomorrow night, phone almost dead so will charge that first.

Had intended doing a workout but I'm feeling tired so think I'll have an early night with Emmerdale on tv3 app on my phone instead, tomorrow's another day 😃

Cagliostro · 12/06/2018 19:50

That does sound thoroughly miserable quite :( glad they were only short term inhabitants! I only play maybe once a fortnight ATM, I would love to play more as it relaxes me. I promise I am good though 😂 but I still don’t want to disturb people. For example when the neighbour was on nights I never played in the day. Never had complaints but a couple of neighbours said they had heard it once and enjoyed listening to me 😳 #smug 😂 (TBF I heard one of their video games All. The. Time. 😡) but I’ve read so many nightmare neighbor threads that it’s really freaked me out. It’s on an outside wall ATM but the new house is a terrace. So it will go on the living room wall perpendicular to the house sides IYSWIM, as near to halfway between the two as I can make it. Ideally I’ll find out when the neighbours are out and work around that. Lessons are very quiet indeed as they are absolute beginners.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 12/06/2018 20:48

Dd was great in the dance festival, her dancing has come on loads.

Popped into coop on way home and did okay on the yellow stickers! Got bread, 4 muffins and 4 corn on the cobs for 84p 😇 also bought 4 bounties for £1, we love bounties!!

QuiteCleanBandit · 12/06/2018 20:54

I would just mention it to them Cag and then the lines of communication are open .
I had severe anxiety about approaching mine due to an awful experience with neighbours who were quite intimidating.
We have nice neighbours atm.

Watching Martin Lewis Money Show Grin

ememem84 · 12/06/2018 21:08

£37 at coop for weeks shop. I pushed ds round in the trolley. Dh did the serious shopping. Ds and I just ducked about. Pushing him away from me down empty aisles; doing “banana phone” and “orange eyes” threatening to beat him with a baguette...I’m hilarious at shopping. he thought it was funny

Dinner was chicken noodles. Mmmmmm.

Ds has had a bath and I’ve showered and washed my hAir.

Stuff is sorted for tomorrow.

Cagliostro · 12/06/2018 21:10

Thanks quite sorry about the anxiety. Glad they are nice now! We’ve not had any bad experiences really (annoyances yes but nothing horrific) I just get worked up about all the millions of possibilities. The terraced row is all HA 3 bed properties, so hoping that means they are all families as the houses are from 2011/12 and with the current rules (no lifetime tenancy) they don’t allow under occupancy. So I dunno maybe we will all be in a similar boat with family size etc. Would be nice as there aren’t many kids where we are, when we moved here we were the only family in the street.

QuiteCleanBandit · 12/06/2018 21:49

Im really good now Thanks CagSmile

Wolfcub · 13/06/2018 06:59

Morning all. I have a hangover and an all day conference. £34 spent last night £10 of which I can reclaim. £5 in the work canteen for lunch yesterday which I can’t reclaim. Need to buy breakfast as had to leave hotel before breakfast was served probably can’t reclaim. I’m in delightful southern rail and the heating is on on the train. Yuck!

Hope everyone has a lovely frugal day.

WreckTangled · 13/06/2018 07:16

Oh no wolf sending you energetic vibes for today. You need carbs, salt and fluids!
