CremeEggThief · 05/06/2018 16:34

Looks lovely, Girlie.

NSD.

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/06/2018 17:24

Nsd

AdoraBell · 05/06/2018 17:26

Grocery delivery was £140-ish, nothing else spent today.

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/06/2018 17:38

Scrub that £8.80 prescription

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 05/06/2018 17:40

There's an online gardening site called crocus seacow that's good, shame no morrisons, I got some plants and bulbs from tesco as well, also lidls and aldi. I think if gardeners world ever do a programme on budget gardens they should come to me 😉

Thanks for all the nice garden comments, I do love it 😍

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 05/06/2018 17:42

Wrong I'm north as well (I think!) We could be neighbours 😉

ChristmasSeacow · 05/06/2018 17:43

Ooh yes, I’ve bought stuff from Crocus before.

That garden is a G&T garden, definitely Wink

mammynowanauntyIRL · 05/06/2018 17:55

Garden is fabulous girlie
Haven't caught up with rest of thread yet.
Grocery delivery today, lunches would be very eclectic tomo and ds doesn't do well with change like that so got it a day early.

6 weeks ago my bank contacted me about a credit card balance transfer, finally being done today. Think it's 6 months interest free to clear €933 approx €36 weekly.

Only the big one gathering interest but at 3.9% so will leave it for now.

SnugglySnerd · 05/06/2018 18:59

Beautiful garden Girlie. I remember when you moved into your house, the garden looks like it's had much more than 2 years of love if you see what I mean. It's putting ours to shame as we've lived here close to 10 years and ours is a tip!

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/06/2018 19:03

Mammy Are you using the standing order trick to pay the big one?.

Crocus is also waitrose garden. Waitrose garden do cashback.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/06/2018 19:09

Although crocus cb is higher so ignore me. I’m obviously clueless.

ememem84 · 05/06/2018 19:11

Have just had session one with my trainer. So. Much. Core. Work. I am going to hurt the next couple of days!

£32. Per session. But worth it if it gives me the kick start I need to get my self feeling better b

SunnyLikeThursday · 05/06/2018 19:12

OMG Girlie that is stunning. It looks like a show garden from Chelsea. Would you mind my asking what the purple things are exactly? I can't quite make out from the photo. They are lovely.

I have had a successful day today I think. I've discovered that playing my Mum's clarinet knocks my chronic hyperventilation on the head really spectacularly and went to ask if my GP thinks that's a sensible way to treat it instead of breathing exercises. He says "yes, do it" so that's good. Quite excited about having a proper medical reason to do something that I've always wanted to do for years. Must now actually do it.

Ds has saved money to rent a french horn so we went and got it and he is making cheerful honking noises. It's called an "F horn" which I suspect is because F is the only note it plays. Ds claims to be able to play 7 different notes, but they are all F, as far as I can tell. They all sound nice, which is all that matters.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 05/06/2018 20:01

Fluffy I was concentrating on the one that just got moved as it was high interest. I have standing order set up to pay €5 weekly to the big balance card plus the direct debit every month. Now that this one is under control I'll set up standing order for last months direct debit figure rounded up to next €5 and cancel monthly direct debit.
I'm conscious all the time of impending separation and finances then so trying to do my best without over stretching myself

ChristmasSeacow · 05/06/2018 20:15

That’s a good result Sunny. Loving the idea of the F horn (from my safe distance Grin)

Laska5772 · 05/06/2018 20:29

I came a cropper! Fell UP the steps at work , ( like I had never been there before?) and I think I've broken a toe! if not actually broken very badly bruised ! Really swollen up and a lovely colour SadAngryand Blush.

I currently ave it raised and on ice.. but probably should have dome that earlier

I spent £40 in M&S today on t shirts for dh and a bra (all needed!)and got their latest beauty box for £!5 its got some fab stuff in ,. I think worth it

Wolfcub · 05/06/2018 20:35

Ouch Laska. Hope it’s just badly bruised

Sunny that’s good news

On the subject of gardens does anyone know whether a wisteria would cope in a (big) pot? I’ve always wanted a wisteria.

Just got home after a marathon day. I need matchsticks for my eyelids. £10 parking and £10 food mostly reclaimable from work

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 05/06/2018 20:59

Yes but snuggly you have 3 very good reasons why the garden would take a back seat 😉

I have quite a few purple plants sunny they are mostly cottage garden type plants so lupins, delphiniums, foxgloves etc. Dd is learning the clarinet and I think it has helped with her breathing as well.

wolf I'm not sure re wisteria, they are quite tricky to prune apparently and can go a bit mad which has put me off even though they are so beautiful. A rambling or climbing rose might be easier?

Unescorted · 05/06/2018 21:03

Sorry dropped off for a couple of days.

Wolf happy belated birthday for Yesterday. Did you have a good day in the end of was it spent sorting out not so DH?. Hope managed to get things in for you.

Cag Google planing search for your local authority.

Girlie I love your garden. Mine is a mess made worse by Cadent digging their trench and compacting the soil down when they back filled. We have really clay soils so I complained..... They are coming back tomorrow to take the clay away. They are also sending compensation for the faff.

Wolfcub · 05/06/2018 21:47

Girlie I have lots of roses so ideally I’d like something different also my neighbor has chronic black spot and doesn’t deal with it so any rose is taking its chances
Unescorted thank you. My day was ok thank yah. Nice walk and picnic. Hope all is ok with you.

AuditAngel · 05/06/2018 23:22

We have a wisteria in a pot, but DH put a hole through the bottom, so it could spread!

Tesco £51, included PE shorts for DD2, gift and card for DD1's friend, 2reuseable water bottles, milk, not much more.

Train fares and parking canreclaim

ChristmasSeacow · 06/06/2018 00:15

It is possible Wolf but they are quite thirsty. It might stop them growing too rampantly though. We inherited one growing over our front porch and it was incredibly fast growing, hard to reach and simply impossible to keep up with the pruning. They also need to be pruned hard to flower well. So I tried to take it out... and failed. It’s unkillable. I might try again to keep it pruned and trained. That would make DH happy.

SunnyLikeThursday · 06/06/2018 05:35

That's interesting that your dd is learning the clarinet too Girlie. I've always wondered whether the sensory stuff was caused by chronic hyperventilation. I'd be interested to know if the clarinet helps with your dd's sensory issues too. I'm hoping it will with mine.

Your plants are lovely. I see what they are now you mentioned the set of names. Ta!

The F horn is causing much hilarity here. I can't help thinking of the flumpet that grandpa flump played, if anyone remember that.

Wolfcub · 06/06/2018 07:20

Morning frugal friends. Life I think it’s your birthday today so happy birthday, have a lovely day Cake

I feel like I’ve done a sum wrong somewhere. I keep taking the bills I still have to pay this month off the ever decreasing amount in the bank and I seem to have more left over than I think I should. Can’t work it out and I am convinced I’ve made a mistake somewhere
