Dh was there. He said a few bits but mostly to back me up. There were some misunderstandings. There were a few tears. We apologised. And we hugged. And we went to the park. The 4 of us. I’m hoping this is the start of an easier relationship.

I’m exhausted. I feel awful. And like my body has given up on me. A reaction to all the stress and anxiety I think. Sore throat, all achey and still more mouth ulcers. The buggers won’t go away!!

I’m bed now having taken a multivitamin and a half dose of night nurse to a) ease sore throat aches and stuffed nose and b) help me sleep.

Spends today £6.85 on three ice. Teams at the park.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/06/2018 20:48

Go to bed, get some rest em.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/06/2018 20:50

Girlie Vegetarian food is very cheap though and so healthy. I’ve tried three times to go veggie but I get ill every time and feel better eating meat. I have heard drs say some people just can’t and I think I’m one of them. I eat veggie breakfasts and vegan lunches though if I’m not having left overs. I’m sorry you damaged your nose, the most ridiculous accidents are so easily done.

Em I really hope this is a turning point.

Sea Waitrose garden do cashback on topcashback.

Wolfcub · 03/06/2018 20:52

Em sleep well. Please mention the tired and run down when you see the doc this week.

Girly I too thought you were going to make mumsnet classics with a fork through the foof. I can’t inagine how you stuck it through your nose but I think you were probably quite lucky it wasn’t worse.

ememem84 · 03/06/2018 20:55

wolf I will. I’ve got a list to speak to dr about. I’m going on weds morning and will possibly just take the day off work.

I suspect she’ll want to sign me off for a bit.

BeeOne · 03/06/2018 21:00

This family are pretty frugal, they live in a van - parents and two kids. Frugality to the extreme!

The show I saw yesterday was "Monogamy", it wasn't really for me, but it was ok, it was an afternoon off.

Today £43.01 on petrol, which I can reclaim from work.

Very difficult rehearsal today, it was too hot to be putting costumes on the poor kids. Plus, the lights that had been added to DD2 dress were too tight and she couldn't get it on. I showed our dressmaker, she said to yank it, I did and the wire separated from the light bulb Blush.

Poor DD2 has a big bum, in proportion to the rest if her, but not good for costumes (I love to squish her bum!)

AuditAngel · 03/06/2018 21:07

Also, I did the first part of couch to 5k this morning. Free, beautiful in the park next door to home, just need to keep going. I'm doing a 25km walk in September, so heed to start training.

Wolfcub · 03/06/2018 22:13

Audit well done.

H has been sent home for the evening but has to go back first thing for an mri

Wolfcub · 03/06/2018 22:13

When I stay home I don’t mean home here

Cagliostro · 03/06/2018 22:23

Oh FFS the fridge seal has broken. Only just got the bloody thing (from charity shop). Door kept coming open after a while and it’s many degrees too warm. 😡 Too tired to think about it tonight TBH. Gah.

Cagliostro · 03/06/2018 22:24

That’s a bit scary wolf :( really rubbish timing :(

Wolfcub · 03/06/2018 22:25

Can you wedge it shut for the night with a chair Cag?

WreckTangled · 04/06/2018 07:50

Cag what a nightmare Angry

We had pil's round yesterday for lunch, it was lovely but that's now two main meals I've hosted which I hadn't planned for so need a top up shop today for salad and humous (other bits I can do without). Dh drugged mil with one of my really strong Benadryl's from the US. She fell asleep BlushGrin so will be a mid spendy day today. Think we're going to do a bbq in the park with friends.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 04/06/2018 08:29

I have a day off today, planning on going for a little run and then meeting a friend in town.

Planned spends
£15 school dinner fund.
£30 to my friend as going to a spa evening on Wed (can't wait!!)
Approx £26 to a friend who picked me up a load of wine from France, planning on starting to stockpile wine in preparation for my 40th in November!!

£5 coffee with my friend
£10 bits in town.

Still can't decide whether to sign up for pilates again, I really enjoyed it but would mean leaving dd for an hour between 6.30-7.30.... not sure!!

Are you seeing the house today Cag? So exciting!!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 04/06/2018 08:40

Suggested a walking trail to dc today which happens to be near a garden centre with recently renovated playground so they wanted to go there. We've compromised with walking trail & picnic followed by icecream at garden centre and meeting dm and dgm there.

Shopping delivery on Wednesday seems to be working a treat here. Dc watched a movie last night & I ordered grocery shopping & cross stitched my way through it Smile

Girlie glad to hear it doesn't look bad, take arnica tablets to help with bruising.
Shock** at your dds announcement, at least it's not veganism Grin

Sunny you're correct a & e visit is €100 off the street but if you go via gp approx €50 and get a referral letter you don't pay at a&e at all, think it's to cut down on time wasters

Wolf are you being contacted by hospital as H's next of kin?

Wreck fingers crossed for your villa

Em what a horrible thing to happen with MIL but simmering the whole time she's there isn't good for your health either

Cag depending on brand of fridge seals can be cheap enough, ours was €100 & is still in my bedroom, it'll ended up being an emergency replacement some day Grin

Ooh girlie what you planning on doing for your 40th? Wine from France is so cheap. We still have a few bottles from trip in 2013.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 04/06/2018 08:48

Oh and re dd being a veggie I don't have too much of a problem with it, we don't eat massive amounts of meat anyway mostly chicken with the odd bit of sausage/ham. I said to dd that its fine but she is going to have to find some veggie substitute to like as otherwise I can see her diet becoming mostly carb based which wouldn't be healthy.

Am also going to say she needs to eat fish until she can prove to me that she will eat a varied enough veggie diet, atm she loves fish so imagine she won't give it up to quickly anyway.

We will see.....

WreckTangled · 04/06/2018 08:49

Good thinking girlie

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 04/06/2018 08:51

Im having a ceilidh for my 40th!! A good ole fashioned Somerset barn dance Grin

I think the wine was 2 euros a bottle!!

One of my friends has recently become vegan, I admire her but have no clue how they manage it!! I imagine you would have to be super organised and plan ahead all of the time.

Wolfcub · 04/06/2018 08:58

Mammy that sounds like a wonderful day out to me.
Girlie good plan on both the veggie dilemma and the birthday plans
Cag hope the fridge kept everything cold enough overnight

Mammy he’s in touch by text so I’m getting regular updates and trying to be supportive. I won’t visit unless it becomes critical which I don’t think it will. He has had some very horrible (and near death) experiences in hospital in his life time and had a bit of a horrid time yesterday so he gets stressed out being there. Hopefully he will be treated as an outpatient after scans today

WreckTangled · 04/06/2018 09:08

My sister is vegan but also crazy gym person. I like cheese and chocolate way too much. Plus jelly babies save my life when my sugar level is low Grin

ememem84 · 04/06/2018 13:14

I’d struggle being vegan. I like cheese too much.

Apparently there’s such a thing as being a vEGGan (egg eating vegan). And I’m a classic “flexitarian” (someone who eats meat but not often).

SunnyLikeThursday · 04/06/2018 13:22

I had a minor frugal win today. We went to our local safari park, which normally costs a lot, but my tesco tokens paid for the tickets, so I didn't have to pay anything. Yay!

ememem84 · 04/06/2018 13:23

£3.40 chemists on metanium cream for ds. Dh bought the wrong one. To be fair though I didn’t know there were 2 types....

And £5. Lunch. Dh was being an arse this morning. Screamed actual proper screamed at me for being lazy (there’s that word again) and for getting in the way (trying to make ds’ bottle which he’d asked me to do) and being ungrateful (because he hadn’t heard me thefour times I’d said I was walking to work and he’d have to take me in). Did not help me feel calm about going to work at all....

I’ve made an appointment to speak to someone to talk everything through.

Wolfcub · 04/06/2018 13:29

Em the sooner mil goes home and everyone distresses the better by the sounds of it. You are definitely not lazy and it’s very unfair of him to say so. Glad you are going to speak to someone.
Sunny that’s a good frugal day out
Walk done and a picnic in the camper van. On way home now as I have a work conf call to do £17.50 on buns for everyone in Betty’s for tea later and for dm, df and ds for breakfast tomorrow as he will have to stay with them as I will be travelling at sparrow fart tomorrow- I will have my breakfast bun for supper
