audit echoing everyone really but passing on my sympathies at what must be a difficult time for you....hopefully their behaviour improves Confused

Gah the valuation on the farm is booked for Monday, then I’ll be getting a full builders survey which I’ve found out is £1k geez!

Only then will I actually believe it’s ours... fingers crossed.

Mind spinning with things to do - but I’m making a list so I don’t spoil this beach time hah

Any tips Em on starting to pack two whole houses and two full garages (one full of stock for my Ex Mini Boden Ebay shop!!)...

And I must NOT keep looking at new horses to buy as I have 5 empty stables ( of course my DD wants a pony at 2yrs old hmmmmm).

Laska5772 · 08/03/2018 10:10

Audit sorry to hear this, yes so much family bitterness can be created at this time esp if there is a scent of £££ involved. Id would sugest keeping all correspondence as formal as possible abd trying not to respond to attacks even if you really want to . My 'possible inheritence' situation has receded as it seems the poor person in the middle has refused to die !! Its now turned into a longterm nursing /power of attourney situation.. I am still keeping out if it as much as I can.. however the scent of ££ and the denial l that there will be anything left as fees will have to be paid is still not stopping the venom towards me.. (the Unworthy one who by circumstance of being born is it seems unwittingly to be standing in the way of others 'rights' and expectations) l really hope it all goes on fees and the person has a v long life!!

ememem84 · 08/03/2018 10:51

nofilter oh jeeeez. That’s a lot to pack.

I’ve been going drawer by drawer. Which I believe is the Marie kondo way. This morning I’ve done my nightstand drawer. And my underwear drawer. Have ditched about 20 pairs of pants.

My tip is to start early. Don’t bring anymore into the house from today. And be ruthless.

We’ve packed up the empty things and the non essentials. Or I have.

Also start collecting boxes now.

Anc. Start using stuff up. I’m using ds’ cotton wool to take my make up off. We use cheekywipes for his baths so don’t need the cotton wool. I’m yet to use them for his nappy changes....working on that.

I was using them for my make up too but do not want to a)waste the cotton wool and b) cart it from house to house. So I’m using it. All. Up. Same goes for beauty products. Use it. Up. I’m down to one plastic storage box of shower stuff moisturiser dry shampoo etc.

In other news I have answered the question “do cats eat scrambled eggs on toast?” Yes. I left my lunch unattended and Came back to find catface with her face in it.

Another charity shop bag packed.

And I have packed a suitcase full of shoes to go into storage. I have 7 pairs of knee high boots. All varying styles and shades of brown.

I am being ruthless now. I haven’t worn my black suede boots this winter. I can buy new ones next year. Mine have seen better days. Binned.

Hello all,

Audit thats rubbish re your brother, I agree with the others though that a family death does seem to bring out the worse in people.

Nofilter sell/gift what you can? Donate some of it? I feel like I don't do a lot for charity so sometimes give stuff I could sell but donate instead.

I have been on the naughty drivers course this morning Grin was quite good actually, definitely will make me more conscious of keeping my speed down.

Went into The Range on way back and somehow spent £42!! I got a years worth of compost, a mini greenhouse, a hard broom and some other bits but even so was naughty as not really budgeted for Blush

Still need to do an Aldi shop but needed a little break before going out again.

Wigwigeconomist · 08/03/2018 14:10

You all sound very productive today, moving house/buying farms etc

Just wondering does anyone have something like a 5 year plan?
We put 20% deposit down on our house but want to upsize in approx 5 years...did you just let the equity build up and then sold at some sort of profit? Orr did you also commit to a separate savings to increase the size of your next deposit? Hope that makes sense

Boden does do some fabulous pieces

northender · 08/03/2018 14:35

Trying to catch up again!
Sorry to hear about your mum Audit Flowers
Quite a frugal week here so far, sticking to the meal plan made after the freezer audit. Tonight is toad in the hole with gravy & braised red cabbage.
Productive day so far. Circuits class done, topcashback query submitted (showing £123 for our holiday cashback when it should be £150), refund on energy exit fees requested fro new supplier Bulb (£60), Mothers day flowers ordered for mil, football tickets ordered for dh & ds. One of dh's friends is coming up for the game and staying with us Friday-Sunday. He is good company so it'll be fine but I was quite looking forward to a weekend on our own.

Still to do, buy fitbit and some new exercise clothing with birthday money (from November), catch up with washing, post mother's day card and a parcel.

Will try to catch up properly later....

WreckTangled · 08/03/2018 14:43

I MUST start exercising again. I felt so much better about myself. The spinning is so expensive though and I don't get any time alone at home to do the shred unless I get up at six instead of half past. I suppose I could do that....🤔

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/03/2018 15:17

£5.59 asda mayo, parsley plat for freezing, squash and bread flour.
£6.50 wilko two tester pots and two soap dishes. They actually look really nice. I have a voucher for Jl but their basic ones get bad reviews.
Homebargains £2.77 dustpan, caustic soda for the sink traps, alcohol gel.

Just need tomatoes, garlic bread, oven chips, loads of salt for weed prevention and dw tabs in lidl.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/03/2018 16:03

I forgot to say —perimenopause here I come— you know those antique style led bulbs with the brown glass and exposed filament that cost £5 each at least? £1.99 in Homebargains. They had the globe style and the funny teardrop style. String of lightbulbs for the garden are £11.

North You are on fire today.

5 year plan sounds sensible wig, as soon as you start paying the mortgage over pay. Even if it’s only £10 a month do it from the start. I wish I had. I do £30 a month now and that takes a year off our mortgage.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/03/2018 16:20

Ooh strikeout fail. That’s the menopause that is. I won’t be able to operate the iPad soon.

SnugglySnerd · 08/03/2018 16:44

Really struggling to keep up. Just placemarking to catch up later. Losing track of spends too.

ememem84 · 08/03/2018 16:56

wig we sort of did both. We bought knowing this wouldn’t be our “forever home”. We haven’t overpaid every month but saved up 20% or thereabouts and have paid off chunks each year. Dh (accountant) worked out we’d save more this way.

I’ve two charity shop bags. And have packed up another two boxes.

Ds (or captain shittypants as I’m now calling him) just had to have an emergency bath. I’ve also had to strip the bed. And disinfect the changing mat. I’ll leave what actually happened to your imagination.

snuggly I expect you're a little bit busy getting used to being back at work and having 3 littleies to care for! Hope things are running smoothly. Being back on full pay will surely help as well (or do nusery costs eat it?).

£6 in the coop, am using cash now until the end of the month. Checked and sorted my credit card payments for the month, so am up to date. We also sorted bt, who were charging us £7.50/m for bt sport, which no-one watches. They agreed to cancel it without a fee, after dp said he'd been mis sold it!

What was the deleted post upthread?

Taco thursday for tea (kit at the back of the cupboard, mince from freezer), and I need to make a mountain of biscuits for dd3's class tomorrow. She's 10 on saturday Shock

QuiteCleanBandit · 08/03/2018 17:08

I may be wrong wigbut I think a bit of both is a good idea.
We withdrew our endowment(against all the advice !) as it was at a standstill and paid off around half our mortgage .
Then we overpaid manically to clear the mortgage early.
I think if you had a fairly good deposit you would get better interest rate/terms.

WreckTangled · 08/03/2018 17:17

It was just spam about working from home earning ££)
