meadow hopefully we officially move on 16th. unofficially we'll get the things were taking to dparents moved on 15th, then spend the rest of the day dismantling beds, cleaning bathrooms and putting oven pride stuff in oven. the morning of 16th i'll remove said over cleaner. and will do a final hoover scrub once all furniture has been removed on the afternoon. we officially have to be out by 1030 on the morning of 17th. sob.
it'll be worth it though. once we have the dream house.

we desperately need to get back into healthy eating. tonights dinner was yum. saumon with broccoli baby corn french beans and cous cous. mmm.

i feel awful. my throat feels like its on fire. so have taken myself off to bed (dh is with ds they're "wrestling" - ds is winning - i can hear him cackling!!). have also just taken multi vitamin, vitamin d and a nice ibuprofen. have hot water bottle. early night for me.

Ok, £26 quid on stuff for DS.. his washing machine emptied water out all i over flat floor this morning. Mum Ne Nahed around as he called in a panic and didnt know what to do (luckily i work nearby) and then the rest of the morning was spent cleaning up .. spent £16 on Mop bucket stuff to clear drains other cleaning stuff coffee etc etc. his flat was a total mess too , it had to be cleaned before we could even think of call the letting agent in.. (but luckily it turned out to be just a blocked filter so could deal with that ourselves and so no LA required ).

But i dont know, he's 27 and still cant look after himself.. That flat was disgusting , it really was.. I now have a key and we've agreed that for one month only , I will go and HELP him clean once a week.

He is v depressed at mo over looking for a new job as his temp contract is due to end in 7 weeks.. Sad .. he has had interviews but so far m nothing .

Seriously dont have kids ! ( and if you do , move house quick as soon as they leave , right!)

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/03/2018 20:00

YY em you need lots self care. Moving is very stressful.

Nice to hear you are getting more supply in crème.

Sorry for that fluffy. I could have sworn you had a hush habit.

It will take time to settle love. It's only day 1.

Nsd today.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 07/03/2018 20:06

We are home after another busy but lovely day in Bristol, Hairspray was fantastic I would thoroughly recommend it to peeps that love musicals, dd and I loved it anyway!

Got an email back from the year head 😉 he was very apologetic about not replying to my first email, looks like we are meeting next week which is good.

Have spent loads today, here goes;

£12 train tickets, the ticket man told me that when I renew my family railcard to get it on my phone and to get it for 3 years as it's cheaper and you get one year free!! The rail card is well worth having and pays for its self after one trip!!

In total about £10 on various drinks throughout the day.
£9 subway lunch
£3 souvenir for dd
£4 ice cream
£6 buses

So in total £40 ish, was dds bday day out though and we had a great day so worth it.

Wigwigeconomist · 07/03/2018 20:42

This thread moves super quick!

moanranger thanks for the stocks advice/info

girlie thanks for the railway card tip

Day at home with the children today-NSD

Laska5772 · 07/03/2018 20:43

girlie I haven't been to Bristol in years (DS was still in buggy). A great town if I remember , id love to go back for a city break...

CremeEggThief · 07/03/2018 20:52

Sounds like a bargain for a day out in Bristol, Girlie.

Me too, Life. Thank you! Currently, it's only T.A. work and afternoons, so the money is crap, but I'm glad of it all the same.

Hope everyone under the weather or a little bit down feels better soon. Flowers

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/03/2018 20:56

It's ok life, much, much worse things have been said of me over the years.

meadow not a huge amount in derby/Notts imho apart from shopping and bars. Yorks lovely, or bath if you like history or architecture.

wolf sorry about Boden. It washes well and sells well on eBay.

Laska5772 · 07/03/2018 21:10

Hee hee.. Wolf! dont listen to that, Fluffy .. Boden is pretty good, but Hush is better ! #lLaska-enabling
Grin

Laska5772 · 07/03/2018 21:10

Wolf, I meant ..

Wolfcub · 07/03/2018 21:16

I’m not sure I’d suit Hush, it looks like it’s for very thin people. Boden fully lined things are great for a more padded figure

Laska5772 · 07/03/2018 21:23

Naw wolf Hush come up big .,, I'm sz 14 top ..I often end up getting the small! Go on, go on, go on, go on.... Grin oh sorry, this is a FRUGAL thread But you could join us on the S&B Hush thread ..

Wolfcub · 07/03/2018 21:26

Enablers the lot of you!Grin

mammymammyIRL · 07/03/2018 22:12

Hush fans : Em, Need & Laska Grin

Thanks for support guys, today was uneventful.

My purchases from beautybay.com arrived so project grow longer nails has started. My birthday money from my aunt paid for this. Sinful doesn't sort mine out unfortunately need but I still use it regularly.

QuiteCleanBandit · 07/03/2018 22:33

So tired -cant keep up !
Moan you can buy second hand Levis on ebay.
I got a pair as DS bought them by mistake Smile thinking they were mens .
Pristine in a Levis way £10 havent paid him yet
DH was boasting he had an early finish but came hone to fire lit and house cleaned Smile

AuditAngel · 07/03/2018 23:12

Evening all (I am nearly old enough to remember Dixon of Dock Green)

I returned a swimsuit I bought for DD1 yesterday, that she didn't like £10.59 refund
80p parking, we also or need a bank account for my mum's estate. £3 meal deal for very late lunch. £10 karate for the girls. DD2 will grade at karate next week.

Brither is being a pain, apparently we aren't consulting him, even though all for funeral was discussed with him last week. He is trying to garner oldest sister into his court. But we have been discussing everything with them both. He is trying to flex his muscles as the only remaining "nan" in the family. This will get him nowhere. DH offered to break his knees, I retorted that I will break him by flooding him with questions Grin

It seems that the death of a parent can bring out the worst in people

ChristmasSeacow · 08/03/2018 00:33

I think you are right Audit. I reckon it’ll be fine between me and my sisters but I predict trouble with BIL and SIL when PILs depart Hmm. Hopefully it won’t be a serious (long lasting) fallout with your bro?

Laska hope your DS finds something. It must be so hard to help enough but not too much, and not to fret yourself silly. I dread the worry about adult kids - it’s always been on my mind: who will look after DS when I’m gone? Obviously he has SN so is likely to need real input with lots of stuff. He’d better start being nicer to baby dd (currently he doesn’t like her because she grabs at him enthusiastically whenever he ventures into her orbit Wink)

Bit of a spendy day today as I bought some birthday gifts for DH (spent about £90) and my top-up shop was c £25 though I got a lot of stuff for that.

I am being sorely tempted by the baby Boden stuff but need to STEP AWAY!

DD rejected the precious ripe avocado I’d bought for her lunch so I helped her. This is why I am fat.

mammymammyIRL · 08/03/2018 05:03

Awake very early this morning, poor enough nights sleep actually, have budgeted out my transfer to joint account in ynab which all looks good. Did the same in my own acc too and it doesn't look as good however my bank balance in ynab is about €50 lower than my actual balance so when on pc I will compare to find this error. That's the money for gift for dm for Mother's Day & for lunch out with dsil on Saturday Hmm
I'm still going though even if I don't have it because I need this weekend away with my family.

Audit love you'll break him with questions Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/03/2018 06:22

There is nothing worse than a death to start family arguments. Give him a massive list of what needs doing and see how he fares.

A small top up needed today and tomorrow as visitors over the weekend

Wolfcub · 08/03/2018 06:59

Audit sorry your brother is being an arse, I agree with Life, give him a list of jobs and see how fast he backs off

It’s snowing again. Ds goes to school from my parents so all his uniform is there but he can’t go this morning as roads are lousy. I’ve managed to find a pair of trousers and a shirt that are clean but I’m putting my faith in a 15 min wash and the radiator to give me a jumper that’s ready to wear in an hour Hmm as it smelled of sweaty boy so he can’t go in that

Wolfcub · 08/03/2018 07:05

And school is closed until 10am so now there’s time for the jumper to dry

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/03/2018 07:18

That or they feel entitled to drop the veil audit, I’ve seen shocking behaviour when my gp passed. It’s a great way to make a shitty time even shittier. Funerals and probate are hard enough. One of our relatives is a barrister and they found it hard going, especially when hmrc demanded a dead person sign a form they sent to her.

Forgot the mayo. I always forget poor dhs foods. Mayo and white bread flour and some dried parsley. Shouldn’t be too much.

ememem84 · 08/03/2018 07:26

Agree audit nothing worse than a family death to bring out the worst in people. Hope everyone is ok.

Should be nsd today. I’m not planning on going far.

WreckTangled · 08/03/2018 07:53

Audit agree with everyone else. I know my mil's sister was awful when their dad died.

£6.95 on a birthday present for dds friend. Really need to get Mother's Day cards. Might pop into town today. Will need stamps too. Argh. Going to have a really spendy weekend too as going to London to see my friend. We've been friends for 18 years she's got a great job and a rich husband. Our lives are very different Grin

LonelyOversharer · 08/03/2018 08:26

I had a really busy day yesterday, a trip through to Ikea with my sister, spent £56 on storage boxes and other small things, we had breakfast, so yummy. Then back via my storage, 3 things sold £67 in 2 days. Went to hers and built the stools she bought, we are chalk and cheese, so I do the flat pack as she hates it. But we're getting along a lot better these days.

Picked up dc, then realised we didn't have time to eat before parents evening, so did that and then had a macdonalds, first one in 8 weeks. Still £32 for the 6 of us.

Ooo Alston is on the bbc breakfast. They have finally dug it out. We are 10 miles away from them towards civilisation.

Got a lot of housework to catch up on today. It felt decadant bunking off yesterday.
