You've just had twins snuggly I'd say baby weight is extra permissible right now!!!

Thanks for tip about Next, I'll have a look :)

SnugglySnerd · 16/07/2017 18:35

The weird thing is that I am the same weight as I was pre-pregnancy and my old jeans fit ok but I do still have a bit of a bump. Not sure how to get rid of it really!

Cagliostro · 16/07/2017 19:03

I am the very worst person to ask, frankly Blush :o

LonelyOversharer · 16/07/2017 19:06

Hey everyone, I am absolutely pooped! Race went very well, but to bed at 0130, up at 6. Then didn't sit down, except driving car for 20 mins until 1530. So tired! Got some cake left, so don't need to bake for the last 4 school lunches. Dd2 has 4 days left of primary school.

I haven't been in a pub for about 12 years I think. Since pre smoking ban, that's terrible! But I don't drink, and we don't go out like that. So old before my time!

snuggly I am at a loss as to what to do with the baby shape on my tummy. I am 9 stone now, the slimmest I've been for 9 years, and you can clearly draw a line where my baby bump was, right round, it's so weird. It's like that bit is just too worn out to look like it used to. I tuck t shirts in, and will never wear a bikini, and no one but me will ever have to look! I bet in reality that you look great though. Little dc just have a brilliant way with words!

fluffy I finally started using top cashback, so qualified for the joining bonus, guess you did too. Sorry it took a year to get organised!

ememem84 · 16/07/2017 19:07

I just asked dh. He suggests core exercises. No sit ups. Things like plank. Maybe some gentle yoga. Pilates.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/07/2017 19:11

She's just a baby herself snugg, any hint of a tummy = baby in her mind now.

About £10 on top up stuff before waitrose arrived tomorrow.

ImAFurchester · 16/07/2017 19:12

snuggly it might be Diastisis recti - I think there are a lot of exercises which can make it worse though - EG sit ups.

Pilates is great.

Taytocrisps · 16/07/2017 19:27

I spent the day doing housework and catching up on laundry. DH mowed the grass and did some gardening. Our rose bush in the front garden has lots of lovely peach roses on it, so we ended up with a frugal bunch of flowers for the dining table. We have a strawberry plant out the back which produces approx. one strawberry every summerSmile. We let DD have it 'cos she helped DH.

It's been a gorgeous day here. If we'd known it was going to be so nice, we'd have gone out somewhere. But then I guess we wouldn't have got so much done. And we'd probably have spent money too.

NSD for me but DH spent a few euros on milk, peppers and onions (and magnums Blush).

Jolly japes in July (only if they are frugal)...!
Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/07/2017 19:42

I hate to say it but I have come to the sad realisation that your tummy never quite returns to how it was pre baby, I still have a little pot belly that was never there pre dd but hey ho.

Had a nice day, quiet which is what i wanted. Popped to a garden centre and spent £13 ish, got some ceramic pots that dd is going to decorate for teacher leaving gifts. Also got some bamboo canes and a few other bits.

Bit gutted its work tomos Sad oh well last week of term thank God

CremeEggThief · 16/07/2017 20:04

Stunning, Tayto.

ImAFurchester · 16/07/2017 20:05

I'm gutted it's the summer holidays as all our baby and toddler groups round here shut down for the whole 6 weeks - I don't work on Tuesdays or Fridays and am going to seriously struggle with entertaining 16mo DS. There's only so many times you can go to the park.

I can't drive either though am having lessons but I am DREADFUL. It's v annoying.

Spent £15 in Wilko today topping up cleaning products. I do love Wilko.

ememem84 · 16/07/2017 20:15

tayto they are so pretty!

We tried the cake. Baileys filling was maybe too much. So when I make the real cake maybe just vanilla filling.

Mummysh0rtlegs · 16/07/2017 20:18

Fur - some of our classes aren't stopping, download the Hoop App on your phone and you might find some other local classes that fit and are running. I have some summer lists for entertaining 22 month old Gabriel and 4 year old Wilf. Gabey is loving drawing at the moment, so opened out box on the floor and some pens keeps him busy for ages.

I did my ten (11!!) mile walk over night, got in in just over 3 hours, the first half we were really hemmed in at the back but when we reached the registration point we managed to get through quite nicely.

NSD, I made slow roast shoulder of pork for dinner even though I really wanted pizza and chips in bed!

SnugglySnerd · 16/07/2017 20:41

Thanks everyone. I used to do lots of pilates. I should try and get back to it at least via YouTube if I can't get to a class.

Has anyone used the Everything £5 website? Just had a look and there were some nice things like loose floaty tops. Might order something.

Mummysh0rtlegs · 16/07/2017 20:44

The quality is market stall and I wouldn't buy their work out clothes again. But I have some nice cardis and basics.

Laska5772 · 16/07/2017 21:21

HI again.. Am back . was a fab, fab holiday ( Did I mention I was going on holiday?Grin) , Scorchio!!!! - we had some days over 40c .. . I am pretty brown for me (am rather pale, can burn easily and so dont sunbathe).

We had our fastest time ever through Gatwick coming back though. Landed 13.35 and were through, and on a 14.05 train going south !!! .. Amazing.. but it was a v long day , and (for those transport nerds out there) I reckon a record journey utilising almost all forms of transport in one day! .. car, minibus, plane, monorail, train, boat, bus, then walking dragging cases home from bus stop! ( I was tempted to scoot down to the shop after just to complete the set! ) .

Barney cat seemed (reasonably for a cat) pleased to see us but he looks ginormous compared to skinny Greek cats) .

The garden has totally exploded .. There were 30 courgettes in the fridge!!!! (I said to take ant produce but it seems like the person doing the watering didnt like courgettes then). We have tons of runner beans also ! Looks like I am going to have to get pickling... Greenhouse has also gone mad, but no toms ripe yet, lots of salad stuff too and it looks like a bumper crop of sweetcorn, apples. pears and and blackcurrants are on their way.

It wasnt a frugal holiday, although theres not much more than beaches to go to , but we ate and drank well..lots of lovely fish and Wine .. soI am pleased -surprised- not to have put on weight. But things definately seemed a lot cheaper , we came back with euros , even despite getting a puncture and having to buy a new tyre for the hire car. Grrr..

Back to work tomorrow (Sad) but my first email will be to the pensions guy to make appointment to see him..I have thought more on it and am pretty determined to get out now as soon as I can. Thinking about it more , it wont make much differnce going now or at the end of the year and I can take my current pension now (with a penalty, but its not worth much anyway ) and I have my old BT pension maturing in December anyway as its set to age 60 and another local govt one at 62.. I think I can survive until then good old DH!.

I came home to lots of Hush sale things but have only kept one dress .. Smile .

Need to catch up! but tomorrow.. Smile

Loveabaconsandwich · 16/07/2017 21:46

furchester you have the same days off as me, I thought I was special with that work pattern Wink

Glad you had a great time laska and good that you sound like you are almost nearly there with your retirement decision

It would have been a NSD today and yesterday but I bought a dress for DD on joules outlet on eBay. Never tried joules clothing before. I have noticed that all the more expensive (sale) clothes for DD1 are still good enough for DD2. The Primark stuff etc is just change bag clothes now. Although Primark is still good for some stuff, like shorts and swimming costumes that don't get too much wear

Whoever suggested the tefal stackable saucepans (maybe mammay ?), I love mine too. Thank you for the recommendation

SnugglySnerd · 16/07/2017 21:47

Thanks, Mummy and thanks for mentioning the Hoop app. Just what I need too but not enough memory on my phone at the moment. I must get an sd card.

Welcome back, Laska. Pleased you had a great holiday. I love courgettes. In the HFW Veg Everyday book is a courgette filo pie. It's delicious.

Just checked bank balance. We have £334 and DH gets paid on Friday. I owe about £80 on cc but am due a refund from Bravissimo for £30 something so will wait until that clears before setting it. Meeting a friend for coffee tomorrow and need to get something to feed another friend who is coming to visit us later in the week. Also need to do supermarket shop and buy a good luck/leaving card for a friend at work. I reckon we'll have at least £100 left which is a vast improvement on last few months especially as I got paid much less last month. My frugal efforts are paying off! At least until the summer hols start next week...

Laska5772 · 16/07/2017 22:06

Snuggly Hi, that pie recipe does look good, Do you need to cook the rice first though? its not clear from the web recipe..

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/07/2017 06:15

Morning, early start here. £120 spent by dh and dd at the little mix weekend. I spent £56 in sainsbury on shit. Skint now so had to transfer some savings as not been frugal enough. Early day at work today, evil thing, then usual kid activity. Need to buy a stamp and that's it today.
Oh wait dh car is being serviced. Sigh.

Welcome back laksa. Pleased the holiday was good

Wheelycote · 17/07/2017 07:58

Morning allStar. Working again today but tomorrow I'm off!!!!yay!!!
I've missed a fair bit, need to catch up on the thread. Hope your all ok and having lovely sunshine!

I'm still not managing to take a pack lunch and buying lunch on the hop...it's about 4/5quid a time...eek.

SnugglySnerd · 17/07/2017 08:51

No need to cook the rice. It cleverly cooks in the liquid from the courgettes.

Loveabaconsandwich · 17/07/2017 13:07

School holidays have started early here. DD1 has chickenpox Shock

100yearsdotcom · 17/07/2017 13:14

Oh no love! Hope she's not suffering with it! Flowers

I had a NSD yesterday and should be a NSD today too, although I'm starting to look at Christmas stuff for DD and nephews and nieces.....

Mummysh0rtlegs · 17/07/2017 13:42

Spent £10 in sainsbury, DS has his end of term party at preschool tomorrow and we have to send them with a plate of party food. He requested things and I have got them.

Pricing up an Orlando holiday for 2019 to stay in the star wars hotel. With going for two weeks and a week of disney and a week of villa and universal / busch gardens it is looking at £13k with everything in. GULP.
