Bloody hell Em, can't believe it's a year....crazy.

Had my walk with my friend and the dogs. That's all my jobs done that I planned.

Okay, I'm asking for crystal balls here but..do I buy my euros now, or wait? The exchange rate is so shocking at the minute I can hardly bring myself to part with cash, but can't see any major improvements in the near future.

Well a year on sept 10th. That's her "birthday" I've promised her some nice fishy. crazy cat lady alert

Friend has just emailed me to ask if I kind if they (and a load of others) go to Ibiza for Aug bank holiday weekend. 😭😩 I've said no I don't couldn't really say yes you can't go without me! as know I can't fly now and realistically I wouldn't enjoy it even if I could go. Part of Ibiza to me will always be getting a bit tiddly and dancing like a loon.

SunnyLikeThursday · 13/07/2017 21:45

Wheely yes I'm a shy geek. I like to do stuff like that.

Cag Yes I'm hoping it will help with winter health stuff. If you're interested you could pm me. The bits cost about £50 and it's belting good home ed stuff. ds says it's really boring

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/07/2017 22:01

Nothing like kids to keep your feet on the ground. I'd love solar panels, and a grey water recycling system.

£33 meal, £15 pre dinner drinks on the marina. Sancerre. Le yum.

Poor cat must be feeling the strain, their such sensitive little souls.

SunnyLikeThursday · 13/07/2017 22:04

Me too Fluffy. I have something like a grey water recycling whatsit, after the neighbour built a massive extension with the roof water draining away into a big block of gravel buried in the garden next to our fence. I always plant thirsty things there now and it works a treat.

We asked about solar panels, but we have a hipped roof and practically nothing fits up there. I really got excited about it all after you were talking about it a couple of years ago.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/07/2017 22:15

Dh has said no to panels. Roofs south facing too, all day sun Angry

ememem84 · 13/07/2017 22:29

I think she is fluffy she seemed happy all snuggled up with me earlier though she was lying across the bump balling kneading and purring.

She's just gone bonkers and has spent the last 15 minutes charging about jumping on and off the bed. Crazy little thing.

She'll be ok. Must buy more felliway. That seems to chill her out.

We've played loads tonight though. Given her a ton of attention and told her she's our best girl. Well I have. Dh just played with her. Haha!

SunnyLikeThursday · 13/07/2017 23:00

We've a got a cat to look after while the neighbours are on holiday at the moment. It's really fun. We know the cat already and she came and gave us a big welcome today.

It's odd, but I seem to get to know my neighbours in a totally different way when I care for their pets. It's not like just polite chat in the street any more, but they really open up when explaining the instructions. I think it's a very nice way to get to know people.

Coppersulphate · 13/07/2017 23:08

Welcome Newbies. We are all really nice and helpful on here.
Cag, tell me about the new Jurassic museum please. Somewhere else to take DGCs.
DGS rang me earlier. Just had his checkup at the hospital. They said the operation was very successful and his heart is no longer enlarged.
Apparently they told him he can now go to Legoland, Diggerland and the Space Centre. He said it as if they were all next to,each other. Apparently they also told him he can now do dangerous things.....as if!!!😳😳😳

CremeEggThief · 13/07/2017 23:13

Need, I got my euros last week and we don't go away until the 28th August, as I could see it getting worse, but not better. This is the first time I've ever got them even more than a week in advance.

That's good, Sunny. I've often looked after other people's cats and had lots of neighbours look after mine, in the past, and you do feel like more than "just" neighbours afterwards.

CremeEggThief · 13/07/2017 23:13

Fantastic news, Copper. Delighted for you and your family. Grin

thewaitresses · 14/07/2017 06:11

Unfrugal confession time - at the beginning of the year I finally caved and got a tumble dryer. To begin with I was religious about putting each load out of the line as usual before finishing off in the dryer. Even in the middle of winter. However this has slipped and I'm embarrassed to admit that even in this glorious summer it must be 2-3months since any washing has seen a peg in this house Blush. But I am turning over a new leaf and have just pegged out the load of washing I remembered to put on last night! It's amazing what having a smart meter can motivate you to do (ours was fitted last week and it was the kick up the bum I needed!)

ImAFurchester · 14/07/2017 06:22

waitress we have to use our tumble dryer loads as have no garden to hang things out in, it's a nightmare Sad

ememem84 · 14/07/2017 06:44

Another one here with no garden waitress and fur so in winter we use the tumbly loads. I try where possible to only use it once things have air dried for a bit or for quick drying things - pillow cases, pants, tshirts etc but sometimes have to do towels and bedding.

We have the benefit of being a first floor flat, have neighbours on most sides, south facing windows, and fully double glazed. So we rarely need our heating on (it tends to only go on in January- Feb).

I've slept so well. Was awake at 530. Have been sat up with a cup of tea since. Catface came for a snuggle on the couch but now is getting twitchy. Must be breakfast time!

Spends today, likely to be around £10 for lunch.

thewaitresses · 14/07/2017 06:45

Fur I console myself that I'm helping eliminate condensation in the house by not having washing drying on airers! When we lived in a flat and didn't have a TD I used to hang on an airer by an open window but it would still take days to dry in the winter. My life has been transformed since getting one!

thewaitresses · 14/07/2017 06:47

Em our flat was really toasty too!

SnugglySnerd · 14/07/2017 07:43

Waitresses there's nothing like a few babies around the place to make you want to get washing dry quickly! I'm doing at least one load of washing every day. No wonder we had a huge water bill!

Yes we do need to start thinking about Christmas. I don't know what to do for the babies. They won't know it's Christmas and we didn't give DD much at that age but obviously she will wonder why Father Christmas hasn't brought them much. I think I'm going to start scouring the charity shops for a few baby toys.

DH just worked out that our elderly cat with his insurance, special food and high litter tray usage is costing us nearly £100 per month! DH was also cross that the cat woke him up at 4am. I am a little bit worried for the cat now! Grin

Pleased I'm not the only one who got the rage with those landlords. Thoroughly unpleasant.

Nearly the weekend!

WreckTangled · 14/07/2017 07:45

Work this morning then the hen do. Have to drive three hours away 😴

LonelyOversharer · 14/07/2017 09:35

Lost my post yesterday, but had a very busy day. Just spent £10 on tea, as we ate pizza at the shop, no time to go home between dd2 opticians (reading glasses, hormonal changes apparently), and music performance.

Got home to find our 2 girl ferrets had liberated themselves from their enclosure (literally chewed through 2cm thick wood, behind the hutch). The buff one was easy to catch, she just came to my hand, but the other is m.i.a. Hopefully she won't go far, and will turn up. We have left out some raw chicken where the cctv will see her, so will hopefully see is she's still in the garden.

I avoided the landlord programme, I knew it would wind me up. Glad I did.

Dp convinced me to get a plastic tree five years ago. I was such a tree snob. We call ours Steve. He was £60, and is as good as new still. I used to spend about £40 each year on a real one.

A mum at school one of the only ones who talks to me has already done a lot of her Christmas shopping Shock Amazon prime day, all I got was some very cheap cat food! My old cat never gets sheba, he is now my very best friend! snuggly our old boy cat will be 17 soon. He's never been insured, but I do 'treat' him with the food he likes best. He was an arse this morning at 4am though - he is the polar opposite of a timid cat. I guess the 4am thing is, "hey, pink blobs, it's light and I want food, NOW"

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/07/2017 09:47

I wouldn't have been a popular school gate mum either lonely, I'm always on the periphery. Plus I prefer animals to humans.

I bet there's a Xmas shopping thread already up & running in Christmas.

Amazon Black Friday is the day. Loads of other websites had Black Friday deals last year.

snuggly is your cat weeing a lot? There was a thread in the litter tray a while back about using horse bedding because it's highly absorbent & totally dust free. I'll link to it because it was really cheap. There's bound to be a horse feed shop within a reasonable distance to you.

WreckTangled · 14/07/2017 10:41

I have bought three presents for Christmas so far. I got slippers, 5 packs of socks and a t-shirt from joules for £21 off the eBay outlet.

Cagliostro · 14/07/2017 10:59

I wasn't a popular school gate mum either. It's only since starting home ed that I have 'mum friends' at all! We are all a bunch of misfits in HE :o

On way home from a lovely week 😩 It's been lovely

Cagliostro · 14/07/2017 10:59

So lovely I said lovely twice in fact 😳
