I've been seen. It was awful, am I'm really good at the dentist. He put enough of the anesthetic in to numb my nose and eye lid, but could still feel the tooth. I asked him to go ahead anyway. Drilled out and packed, root canal in 2 weeks. Feel very rough now.

I use Alberto Baslm shampoo and conditioner, £3 for 4 bottles usually. Apple and coconut both great. I have timotei hair, and it suits that. Anything expensive makes it heavy and look greasy even if it's not.

Am going to try a nap...

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/07/2017 13:46

sounds painful lonely. YY to alberto balsam the raspberry conditioner is lovely.

what a brain fart day i have had which has const me £24 in matalan, £2 in school meals, £4.75 in asda. FGS

CremeEggThief · 10/07/2017 14:38

Ouch Lonely. Sleep as much as you can and keep up with the painkillers. Hope you start feeling better soon.

Have a great time away, Cag.

Another fan of Alberto Balsam here. I hate spending more than £1.50 on shampoo or conditioner, so always get a cheapie like Alberto Balsam or something on special offer.

NSD again.

SnugglySnerd · 10/07/2017 14:57

Lonely that sounds horrible. Hope you feel better soon.

NSD.

Wheelycote · 10/07/2017 15:28

Lonely feeling for you. Rest and sleep a little if you can

needastrongone · 10/07/2017 16:16

Oh Lonely, that sounds dreadful. Tooth pain and ear pain are just the worst thing. Well done for being really brave. Try to rest if you can.

Been a REALLY expensive day as I've paid the balance of the holiday and booked the car hire (through TCB).

However, frugally will be returning everything I ordered from M&S.

Also, having a lot of dollars left on a currency card has worked to our advantage as I've requested a refund and the rate is good. Unlike when I buy the Euros......

I often use Aussie Rules shampoo and it's usually on 3 for £10 in Boots, so you could use an advantage card. My hair tends to be dry and frizzy if I don't use reasonable products, so these are the cheapest I will go to but I find them great for my hair type.

Anyway, lots to do again so off I pop Grin

Hope you feel better soon lonely

I still haven't looked into the pastries fluffy or the matched betting Blush . Although I have some jus rol pastries which I plan to cook tonight for a special birthday breakfast tomorrow for DD- if I remember to do it!

Spends
£2.50 on a birthday card with a badge. The cheap card shops didn't have one so had to go to Clintons
£2.69 on a Mcds happy meal.
£2.30 on a yoghurt and a pack of apples

Cagliostro · 10/07/2017 16:33

Ouch lonely what a nightmare. I am terrified of dentists at the best of times. Hope you can get decent rest.

We are here and have already had a swim in the outdoor pool which is literally right in front of our door. Yay!

Cagliostro · 10/07/2017 16:35

I remember when happy meals were £1.99

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/07/2017 16:58

I've been using the coconut shampoo and conditioner from boots. Smells nice and so cheap. I always get ichy scalp from cheaper shampoo but I use it once or twice a week as a break from sheer blonde which is much more £s

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/07/2017 16:59

lonely Infection stops la working if it's a bad one. The ph is altered & the la can't work. It sounds awful but it's better to drain out all the muck.

WreckTangled · 10/07/2017 17:10

Oh lonely poor you! I was once told that if there is an infection it shops the anaesthetic from having an affect.

Haha Cag me too. Hope you enjoy your holiday.

£4.50 parking.

Have made some cauliflower, potato and bacon cheese bake for dinner. Just threw it all together so hope it's ok!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 10/07/2017 17:30

Ouch Lonely that sounds bloody horrendous!! Have you got some decent pain killers to take? Can buy cocodomol over the counter...

Wheely my hair doesn't cope well with cheaper shampoo and conditioner but I always buy on offer!! I refuse point blank to pay full price Grin have you got a Wilkos? They normally have something on half price...

Cag well done to your dd Star have a fab trip!!

Spends £46 on petrol.

LonelyOversharer · 10/07/2017 18:15

You're all so lovely, thanks! Slept a bit, and woke up much better. The pain has gone! Still very bruised, not my usual dentist, this guy had a rather rough manner! He had to inject more into the root, which really did hurt, but then went numb. It had a lot of infection, thanks for the info on the anesthetic, he said it probably wouldn't work well, but didn't say why!

This is the 4th of my back teeth to go, needing root canal. Dentist is non plussed as my teeth are really good, but I think it's two babies in 2 years that did it, they all went after dd3, I was very run down for a long time.

Now I can think straight I'm catching up on all yesterdays housework jobs. It has been a nsd, because I forgot my purse, just as well, heaven knows what I would have bought this morning, I was in such a state.

WreckTangled · 10/07/2017 20:41

I've got the hen do this weekend. I could cry at the cost. So far:

£138 for the apartment
£10 for the kitty
£18 for a table in a bar (included three drinks)
Declined the cocktail making at £30

Will be:

£20 parking
£40 fuel

48 hours worth of eating/drinking out. I think I'll be ordering starters and tap water Sad

It seems really badly organised and we're going to such a lovely city where there's so much to do and they're just doing bulk standard tacky hen stuff! I'm obviously getting old....

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/07/2017 20:52
Shock

This is when I'm glad I have no friends.

NSD.

thewaitresses · 10/07/2017 21:00

I've just been on a fairly spendy hen weekend too 😳 luckily the accommodation (which included most food cooked/provided by the bridesmaids) was paid for back in January so it didn't feel so depressing. I gave myself a budget of £100 for everything else including travel, extra food and drink and Saturday activity and I came back with about a fiver in my purse so pretty spot on!

ememem84 · 10/07/2017 21:13

70p on local paper today. Yay!

(And about £200 on baby stuff on Amazon prime day deals which we'll put through tomorrow)

Have just done some house admin. Yay! Washing done. Washed up properly (dh had just left a bunch of stuff to soak Eugh) have activated my new debit cards and have changed all details on Amazon/PayPal.

Have emptied my purse of reciepts. Much tidier now.

And have filled in my latest preggo food questionnaire.

Successful evening and I got engrossed again in the Charlie hard thread here and saga on Facebook

Dh is frying veggies to make veggie breakfast burritos tomorrow morning #organised.

Catface is chasing a moth around the living room. She's never going to catch it but it's fun to watch her flinging herself about.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/07/2017 21:15

She might like a da bird toy. Hours of fun & not much effort on your part. Amazon do them.

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/07/2017 21:34

I've never been on a hen weekend and only one hen night and didn't enjoy that much . It appears I am now too old and have no friends to go to such things

Sounds so spendy wreck but hopefully it will be better than expected. And you do like your friend so it'll be worth it and you come across as a sociable person

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/07/2017 21:35

fluffy did you qualify for the travel panel? £100 over three months allegedly

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/07/2017 21:40

No I just checked, no travel surveys for me. Well done, I've never made more than £20 so a £100 is fantastic.

Just in time for Christmas too!.

ememem84 · 10/07/2017 21:53

We've just been playing "what songs are 20" this year.

Turns out a lot. I'm old man.

I also thought let's get ready to rhumble by pj and Duncan was 20. Its not. 23 years ago that was released. I just showed dh my wicked crazy nineties dance skillz. He wasn't too impressed.

I need a lie down now

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/07/2017 21:59

Boo fluffy . I am a very well travelled person you know Wink My office is in a very exotic location Hmm

I have just talked DP out of spending £450 on a robotic lawnmower. He has £100 of vouchers which were his leaving gift but we just cannot justify the other £350. Please tell me they are rubbish as in theory they sound great! I resisted buying one previously when they were £800

thewaitresses · 10/07/2017 22:39

Love I try to avoid them as much as possible when it's clearly an invite to fill beds! I find the expectation to spend so much money with no real choice quite annoying (and this one was quite reasonable compared to some I know of). However this was my close cousin and as I've known it was coming for at least two years I managed to put a little ££ aside
