You're heroic Snuggly. Well done there.

I'm under doctor's orders to relax. Not just to relax but to Relax Harder. Ya Gads.

Coppersulphate · 07/06/2017 12:42

Sunny, how do you relax "harder"?
DGS is much better. I thought he was in an ordinary ward but it's a high dependency unit, whatever that is. I assume it's a halfway house.
A lot of his drains and cables are out which is good. He's complaining, which is also good.
Sorry folks I am up to date, just a bit preoccupied.
Laska....where are you going on holiday...?If you don't mind me asking...anywhere nice?

SunnyLikeThursday · 07/06/2017 13:07

Copper that's great about your dgs. Relaxing harder currently means abandoning the housework, and all other non-essential tasks. I've to aim for 5 hours off a day, which is a pretty tall order, but I'm working on it.

SunnyLikeThursday · 07/06/2017 13:08

We've got 20 posts left in this thread if anyone fancies making a new thread.

Laminators are ace Fluffy you'll never look back!

Snuggly you have my sympathy. Sleep regressions are cruel. One of the big shocks tonne as a first time parent was how you can crack something and then NOTHING obvious changes and you go backwards... gritted teeth and cake for you Cake

Fab news on DGS Copper. The great thing about having the surgery brought forward is that is now behind you! Complaining is a great sign too.

Sorry about DH Lonely. You do have a lot to deal with, running your own business and all the races and earning other money. Interesting about bf, it's all militant breastfeeders round my way. Those few of us who didn't succeed all had a hard time getting over it - I met a mum with a 10-month old who broke down in tears telling me about her 'failure', and I was just as bad! There must be a lovely middle road for pressure too.

I was going to finish work today but I am
Nowhere near able to hand this project over... I think there will be a few late nights in the next week. Grrr. I am steeling myself for a difficult meeting now - I write a document that is critical of a piece of in-house work (some by someone who worked hard on it but doesn't know the industry) and now I need to go through it with him. Not sure what the tone of the meeting will be like but I am not getting my hopes up!

Last lovely Pret lunch today. It has been very naughty of me to buy lunch when I'm the office but it has been a lovely silver lining!

SunnyLikeThursday · 07/06/2017 13:26

Good idea to treat yourself to lunch Christmas. I've been a very proud RL scrooge frugaleer for years and have learned to spend a bit on myself through this group, and I must admit that I do find it nice to have nice things once in a while. Targeted use of funds is definitely a nice thing.

ememem84 · 07/06/2017 13:27

Nails done. The name of the colour "purple purple" someone must have run out of steam when creating names..!

Leftovers lunch eaten. And no more spends today. Yay!

Watched a bit of the rugby this morning - boss had it on his desk. Baby boy got all wiggly when it was "Sonny Bill Time" haha!!

ememem84 · 07/06/2017 13:28

So obviously a proper kiwi rugby fan like his dad 😀

Coppersulphate · 07/06/2017 13:45

Em, did you know you can get the All Blacks rugby kit for babies....body suits, tiny shirts, the lot. I saw them a few years ago when we were in NZ

Cagliostro · 07/06/2017 14:59

Potential new pupil :) was a bit weird though as I decided to be upfront about the fact I will be on some semblance of maternity leave in November so we shall see, they may quite reasonably decide it's not right for them if I'll be stopping quite soon after starting.

Not really sure how it's all going to work TBH, teaching up to near due date should be fine as pupils come to my house and I am just sitting down :o but after baby who knows? I know some of my best mates are super excited more than happy to snuggle the baby while I teach their kids, and it's all very informal anyway, so that should be doable! They wouldn't be remotely fussed if I had baby in a sling while I taught either, it's just super chilled. But I will have to wait longer to sort out the other lessons where I don't have that kind of relationship with the mum. Depends what DH's work hours are like and if I can get baby to take a bottle if necessary.

LonelyOversharer · 07/06/2017 16:29

cag it will smooth itself out with your pupils. For me, your set up seems ideal (apart from your health conditions, I guess you could do without those), teaching from home, kiddies home, and no disruption to new baby - don't forget, we sometimes get a baby who sleeps ...caglet might be one of these rare beings!

copper so pleased dgs is complaining. This is a very good sign. Onwards and upwards, so his problems should be all fixed? What a relief.

My top up shop was barmy. £100 Shock not spent that in a single supermarket shop all year. £35 of it was pressies, and £10 on cake things and chocs (ds and dd3 both have birthdays in next 10 days). I am going to try to make angry bird pigs out of ferrero rocher. We shall see. Solid balls of fondant not tempting, as dc would gub the lot, and then be sugar-sick.

I also spent £80 in the amazon. Pressies for ds, penguin themed, as we have booked the zoo for sunday!! I'm far more excited than dc will be. We are rolling it with picking a £3k bike up for a customer (dp not trusting this one to a courier) and birthday 'tea' (I'll take cake) with mil. And I ordered myself some linen 3/4 length loose dungarees! Sound awful, but I'm not known for my taste in clothes or glam look!

LonelyOversharer · 07/06/2017 16:32

Oh, dp is ok. He got more steroids, and an inhaler spacer. He is being such an arse I told him to stop it. Very clearly. He's currently making risotto for tea, looking downcast. I get he's unwell, but taking it out on me is not on or fair.

Cagliostro · 07/06/2017 16:40

Ha, well I may be lucky! :o DS was a pretty easy baby really as long as boob was available. DD OTOH still does not sleep. Not without screaming at bedtime and suchlike. I fell asleep in the hallway by her door yesterday.

Cagliostro · 07/06/2017 16:40

Oooh penguins! And the zoo! Awesome. Glad DP is ok

AdoraBell · 07/06/2017 16:53

Glad DGS is complaining Copper

Well done telling DH Lonely, good that he is responding to his meds.

em you must get the full All Blacks kit 😁

£27 today on present for Father's Day. We have our anniversary in a couple of weeks and I have no clue to get for DH Confused but it's gotta be cheap.

needastrongone · 07/06/2017 16:54

Checking inSmile

I've had a manic week or so, therefore apologise for not being up to speed. Much prefer to be busy though so not complaining.

I did just want to say how glad I am that your DG is okay Copper. Such a huge relief for you all. What a time for you guys.

Spends have been minimal, I've bought some beauty stuff but sold tons of stuff on Facebook so I'm still in profit. I've lost a lot of weight through running so lots to sell. One benefit of buying slightly higher priced stuff is the resale value is good.

We are struggling at work to find staff. Get this..... had someone turn up today for an informal chat. Not got the experience we advertised for but worth a chat at least, being open minded. Demanded to be paid £2.50 per hour more than the advertised position and refused to work the odd night away ( which was in the advert). This is a position paying £30k a year, with overtime in addition, and
and a van, pension paid at 5% of salary and this is for a fitter essentially, not a highly qualified position. This guy is currently unemployed!!!!

I did get pranked at work today, one of our customers pretended to be from DEFRA, saying the neighbours had complained about the chickens. Insisted he was coming out the survey them and probably remove if complaint upheldGrinGrin. Fell for it entirely and the whole office was in stitches as I argued like a bugger!! DH out him up to it.GrinGrin

Will try to keep up but traveling tomorrow to a Uni open day, staying over as a long distance from home.

WreckTangled · 07/06/2017 17:01

Sorry I don't have the energy to catch up. Have driven 85 miles today and still have another 30 probably to go 😴 just spent £60 odd in tesco.

Saw my friend in tesco with her three dc (who are lovely but, erm, spirited. A lady told off all the dc and us because we allowed them to be 'out of control'), if she's a mnetter I would expect s thread about it Blush

ememem84 · 07/06/2017 17:26

copper adora dh bought "baby" as he was back in march an all blacks top (to fit an 12 year old) when he was there. He also bought me one. Both the lovely cotton warmy old style ones. So we can all watch together in October when it's the autumn internationals. Idea being baby will grow into it! Haha
