Hey could I join please? I love reading your tips and could use some motivation to save as am trying to get a house deposit together for our first home - it seems so far away!

needastrongone · 22/05/2017 16:23

Thank you for the new thread.

Been a busy day, so a quick post.

All, I forgot to reply to you. Although, I can't help, sorry as we are much more specialist that that kind of application.

Laska Grin, I know what you mean, I glanced down at myself on Saturday and thought I was a walking advert for Hush... terrible really.

Mammy it's really tough isn't it? You feel like they can turn on 'the face' for everyone else sometimes. I'm glad you are not just accepting things though.

DD is a 30FF, which is a really awkward size, I'm quite the opposite but beginning to have sympathy for you ladies that are large of boob.

Spends were 20 quid in Aldi, but bought tons of baking stuff as my ladies are laying a lot. Will save on biscuits and crap being bought.

In other good news we've had a $4k repayment from HMRC for overpaid self assessment tax!!!!! Totally unexpected and very well received. Think of the shoes I can buy LaskaSmileGrinGrinGrin

Cagliostro · 22/05/2017 16:28

Sunny 😂😂😂 I really wouldn't try and figure out what I look like, you'd only be frightfully disappointed if you knew the truth 😱😳

Cagliostro · 22/05/2017 16:29

Welcome cats cool name and a valuable life motto :o

SnugglySnerd · 22/05/2017 16:41

Just checking in. Thanks for the new thread and welcome newcomers.
Another NSD here, I think that's nearly a week, that might be my personal best!

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/05/2017 16:47

Welcome Cats, what have you saved on so far?.

needastrongone · 22/05/2017 16:49

Welcome CatsSmile

LonelyOversharer · 22/05/2017 16:52

Had to pop to asda (for more scrubby/cleaning things), plus bits for tea £30, I got a box of hair dye, I haven't dyed my hair for 8 years, as my skin went a bit sensitive after uvb treatment grim guttate psoriasis but I have so much white now, I'm going to try to cover it up. This might go horribly wrong!!

Dp stayed home with dd3 (on 48 hr school lock down) who hasn't been sick again. I went to the shop as my sewing machine is all set up there. Have machined the border, and done all the neck and zip placing for my dress, the posh fabric is a dream to work with!

My breasts are reducing nicely just now. I have gone from 34dd/e to 32d, another half stone and I know they will fit into a c cup. I had huge boobs for my frame from age 12, so the joy of little I mean empty you understand ones is real for me! I did have 6 years breast feeding out of them, so feel I've had my money's worth!

WreckTangled · 22/05/2017 16:55

Welcome cats

Laska I like my small boobs. Although I think some tips would look better if I could fill them a bit more.

£4.50 parking
£1.70 co-op as had run out of jelly babies.

Later will be £25 for ds' swimming lesson.

SunnyLikeThursday · 22/05/2017 17:11

Cag Now I'm really curious. Smile

Wreck I know the feeling. I had to wear three padded bras to my wedding. Btw I was thinking of you when I rang our GP this morning. I always feel more confident ringing them and thinking that the receptionist might be nice like you. Smile Thanks for helping me along.

catsb4twats · 22/05/2017 17:20

Thank you for the welcome Smile I have saved about 8k with my DP so far but we are in London so this goes precisely..... nowhere 😬 We save some each month after payday, but don't have a budget etc and I think we are both prone to impulse shopping !

Loveabaconsandwich · 22/05/2017 17:36

Welcome cats

I had to wait 30 mins for the start of my train journey home. In that time I resisted an ice cream from the van in the park I had to walk through and a hot drink too Halo

My conference was good. I do love learning/broadening the mind. It was at a uni, it made me want to think about doing more studying and the subject matter touched on something I studied at uni 15 years ago

WreckTangled · 22/05/2017 17:42

Ah that's nice sunny Smile

Well I've made 250g of mince make two meals. Spag Bol tonight and enough left for another night or maybe a lasagne Smile feeling pretty pleased with myself.

mammymammyIRL · 22/05/2017 17:46

Grrrr that is all!
I did the grocery shopping in Aldi, dc were wrecking my head at checkout, will have to check Internet banking for the total, I didn't even notice what it was.

OP posts:
MeadowHay · 22/05/2017 17:52

Love What did you study at uni if you don't mind vaguely telling us a broad subject area? (If you do, that's totally fine obv just ignore this, I'm just curious).

I have caught up but erm you've all been too chatty so I can barely rememeber a thing Grin Blush but I'll try...

Need WOW that is boss about the tax refund, bet you're cheddarded! DH got £30 tax refund the other day and we were made up with that :'D

Cag Is it weird that in my mental image of you, you already had big boobs?? :'D You have just confirmed it for me.

To other small boob ladies, I am one of you too. Well actually I'm just sort of in between I guess.

Em Glad catface is going back to normal slowly. Bet your DH feels bad.

Cat Welcome! Property prices in London are crazy. A couple I'm friends with live in Islington and pay nearly 3X the rent DH and I pay, and their flat is about half the size of ours Shock!

Mammy Hope you're ok Flowers.

My exam today was hard and not how I expected it to be. I don't think I did myself justice and I was so pushed for time that I didn't get a chance to read over my answers which is awks because usually I find I miss words out when I read them back through...hopefully the examiners can still understand what I mean. I do have a cover sheet for learning difficulties so they are not supposed to mark me down for things like that anyway but you just don't know really. Really tired and still three more exams to go :'( the next is tomorrow morning, sigh.

NSD so far but need to do online shop later but might get DH to do it instead as I'm so knackered.

Oooh, electrician finally came about our kitchen light by the way. He just replaced the whole light with a new one. But it works and it was free given we're in rented accomodation. It will be great being able to see properly in the kitchen at night again!

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/05/2017 17:55

Nsd hurrah

32f here but I'm a size 10 clothes, well sometimes 12 on top for my norkage. Tisa nightmare. I never wear shirts.

WreckTangled · 22/05/2017 17:55

Ooo need that's awesome! I think you should have a summer holiday with it. You deserve one for sure. And you'll need new shoes to wear on it...Wink

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/05/2017 18:02

Nice one need.

I'm on the Lego card swaps thread so will be spending a bit on postage soon. Also in sainsbury as you can now but the cards for 50p a pack except they are like hot cakes

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/05/2017 18:06

Blimey you lot have been chatty today!! Grin

Thanks for the new thread, not caught up yet but signing in, work day today.

Spends £44 petrol.

Loveabaconsandwich · 22/05/2017 18:07

My degree is in sociology meadow. I've never really needed it yet but then I got a 2:2 and I really should have worked harder. In theory it has some overlap in the area I used to work, although nowadays I'm more the problem solver/ tea maker/ paper clip ordering person Smile . Uni feels a very long time ago

Whoever (I forgot) got the 4K refund should share all the unfrugal things they could spend it on and then let us know what you will spend it on!

ememem84 · 22/05/2017 18:09

Things I've learned. laksa and sunny are small of nork cag has ginormous boobies (is that before preg or as a result of?)

I'm usually a 34DD (while we're sharing...!) but they've gone to a 36E so am feeling incredibly boobalicious at present. 😀😀😂😂😉😉
I'm sometimes jealous of small boobies. You don't have to wear a bra all the time, they don't try and get away from you, you don't get the under boob sweats in the summer....

This arrived today. Yay!!

May we continue our furious frugaleering into June : )
LonelyOversharer · 22/05/2017 18:14

Hi cat crossposted with you. This lot are great! How much ballpark are you going to need? I have no idea how crazy London prices are, I live in the cheapy cheap bit of the north.

wreck that's some serious mince stretching! I never use less than 500g (usually 750) and with lentils (a grated huge potato last time, worked very well) that will do spag bol for 5 (various portion sizes), and a small lasagne if I'm lucky!

need fab refund. Have you something in mind for it?

Home made pizza tonight. Put a little leftover pulled pork on ours. Totally delicious! I'll do that again. The rest has gone in the freezer, by a pack of pitta bread...meal idea!

mammymammyIRL · 22/05/2017 18:16

Further spends €30.06 on diesel
There's a detour at village i work near & it's not convenient to go to usual petrol station& use my fuel card so just got it on the road now, had to drop off car for au pair & drop dh to garage to collect his van. His attitude hasn't improved at all

Great result Need 💷💰💰

Sorry the exam was tough Meadow, you might have done better than you think though

Islington is trendy so v expensive even by London standards!

Welcome Cats. At least house price growth has slowed a bit so you are creeping ahead by saving. London is ridiculous, my sister has been well and truly priced out.

Boobs: I was a 32JJ before getting pg, now 34KK and rising. I think I have some 34Ls in a cupboard from last time. Nuff said 🙄

I am a bit worried about how swollen my feet are. I honestly don't recognise them. They are really puffed up and very painful. It looks as though my toes are stuck on the end of a big fat ham! Dr Google says if you press and the skin springs back that's good (and it does). I am trying not to fret. Midwife wasn't very interested on Friday (because skin pinged back) and my blood pressure was low, although it's a lot more swollen now. I'll be commuting into the city in flip flops tomorrow if there's no improvement as I can't get anything else on my feet. My emergency crocs arrived from amazon today and they sent the wrong size, just as I need them!

EHCP Paperwork all submitted at lunch time - big phew. That's not the end of it because it was so bad I have asked for another review cycle so it feels as though it will never end! It's a bit draining too as you spend hours reading and writing about your child's difficulties (by my reckoning about 20 hours this weekend!) so it's not the most fun. Managed an hour's nap this afternoon but still knackered. DS has chosen a good day to be an angel again apart from the ongoing refusal to wear school uniform . I ❤️ him so much.

Spends £70 private SLT (so worth it) and ££ on a white painted chest of drawers and bedside table for the baby's room, delivery Wednesday. Only a few things to buy now for the baby (a monitor, cot sheets) and we are READY! Practically if not mentally. Smile

MeadowHay · 22/05/2017 18:38

Just did our food shop, about £50 from Iceland which will arrive tomorrow. Got a lot for my money I think. Iceland is the best.
