Laska, you look absolutely as I imagined. Funky and sassySmile

God, I've forgotten everything again!

Meadow, I'm sure you've done fine in your exam. Easier said than done, but nothing you can do to change it now, if you can possibly have that thought process that is!

Love the peacock, we had one that used to sit in the garden at our old house, it belonged to the local farm.

Thanks. I've got many ideas about the money. I've had the accountant confirm that HMRC are not mistaken! DH and the DC need clothes. DH wants a few things for the garden. A chunk will cover the pony and his rehab, soon gone, a whole chunk of money eh?

needastrongone · 22/05/2017 21:28

Seacow, you have got it full on haven't you? Have you tried any of the standard stuff for the swollen ankles? They are probably worse as you didn't rest last night. You do cope with so much so well. Please take time for yourself before DD comes along.

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/05/2017 22:09

You wish laska. Ha still here.
I have short hair but in going grey dis gracefully.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/05/2017 22:14

Seacow you need to keep your feet elevated as much as possible and def go to bed thats nurses orders!! You maybe able to get some travel type hosiery in boots that will be a PITA to get on but will help massively with getting all the fluid off your feet. If possible in bed tonight prop your feet up higher than your heart on pillows.

Waves at Need Grin hows the pony doing?

Laska you look awesome, so cool!

I have always had small boobs, 36 B or there about but recently all my bras have been really uncomfortable so am wondering if I should get remeasured, not that I can afford new bras anyway!

Had a nice evening pottering in my garden, keeping adding things to my Amazon basket like bug killer and lawn feed Grin so rock n roll!!!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/05/2017 22:15

Just read that back I mean Boots as in the chemist!!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/05/2017 22:20

Returning frugaleer reporting for duty.

Spends today,
£12 on non slip socks for Pilates,
£12 for DDs to do Pilates class with me.

Grocery delivery due tomorrow, £72.

CremeEggThief · 22/05/2017 23:04

Welcome back AdoraSmile.

ChristmasSeacow · 22/05/2017 23:22

Thanks nurse Girlie! I should be asleep but indigestion is keeping me awake. I have to sleep slightly propped up at the head end because of reflux so it's hard to prop my feet up as well. They are defo looking better than this afternoon though after lolling around all evening. I love the word 'lolling' Grin

Need you are too kind! I actually feel pretty good now the EHCP response is done. That was the thing that was worrying me most because it matters the most and because it's my first time so I am feeling my way and probably not doing the best job. I seem to 'get' each stage just at the one after it, so it has been a struggle! I'll ace it an the annual reviews after this though Grin.

The other stuff is busy but not worrying me: my work project is stuff I know and it's nice to use my brain; childbirth was fine last time and I can't control it anyway so no point worrying about it ; and getting baby's room together is actually quite lovely fun! (Never ending paint touch-ups aside .)

Tomorrow I am out with some friends so that will be nice. Probably the last time because I feel my tubing days may need to take a break soon.

Em employer schemes aside (which vary a lot) I think our statutory mat pay is for much longer (9 months) but at a lower rate. So maybe it's not so hugely different, other than more or less generous employer schemes. Public sector here is good but private sector ranges from amazingly good to just statutory benefit.

I am waiting for some pay slips relating to this project to apply for statutory pay. Not sure whether I will get it as the rules are a little opaque but it would help a lot.

Laska that's exactly how I imagined you!

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/05/2017 06:26

I am tired this morning. Late to be and woke up early with a tickle throat.
I spent £16 in asda on a bikini and a t-shirt in school house colour for sports day.

Team lunch today £15 + drinks. Might do body pump tonight, might sack it off. Lost all motivation.

Loveabaconsandwich · 23/05/2017 06:38

Hope your feet/ankles has gone down today seacow and take it as easy as you can.

Incredibly sad reading the news this morning. Who does that, especially aimed at children/ teenagers?

Loveabaconsandwich · 23/05/2017 06:48

Good luck today meadow

WreckTangled · 23/05/2017 06:52

Laska you look as cool as I imagined

Girlie I'm pretty sure you're wearing the wrong size. I would measure yourself using the bra intervention. I'm a 28C.

Christmas if you haven't got any get some ranitidine. Cheap as chips and stops the indigestion and heart burn.

Bacon I was so shocked to read it this morning. So sad.

Have done the shred. Will pop into siansburys for top up shop on the way to work. Need celery and strawberries poss some other bits. Also need petrol again.

ememem84 · 23/05/2017 07:15

seacow I think you're right. I have a feeling "your" stat pay is for longer at a lesser amount (from memory if studying uk employment law as part of my studies - 39 weeks at £139 or 80% pay - the lower of the 2...or something like that...)

That's why I'm pushing for reduced days. I know some people have no choice re nurseries at a young age but I feel 4.5 months is just too small to be left full time childcare. I want to spend time with baby boy. If I work 3/4 days a week I can still have my time with him. We'll see what's agreed anyway.

CremeEggThief · 23/05/2017 07:34

So upsetting about what's happened in Manchester Sad. R.I.P.

LonelyOversharer · 23/05/2017 07:37

Had the news on all night (as we do) SadSad I have no idea who the singer was, but am assuming all the casualties will be teenage girls. Feel a bit sick actually. Will give my dd1 an extra squeeze before school, which she will hate.

My hair is stupidly long, but very fine, will get dp to take a photo! Will get him to lop 3 or 4 inches off it...will make no difference, but will tidy the tatty endy bits.

My career was over as soon as I was pg. Plus I worked for an offshore company, so they owed me nothing. The gave me all my leave owed (3 months) and 3 months 'sick' on full pay. It was the best they could do, but that was it. At the time though my circumstances were very different, and being a sahm was just fine.

ememem84 · 23/05/2017 07:59

lonely I've just caught up with the news. Awful awful stuff. And why? For what reason? Just to keep people on their toes I suppose.

Chris Evans on radio 2 said we should all be sharing a bit of love and kindness today. well everyday but still. He's right.

Have my lunch all packed up and ready to go just have to get myself dressed and out of the house.

Set to be another gorgeous day here so may take lunch to the park and read my book.

Started a wardrobe clear out yesterday. A lot of my work clothes have seen better days and they are now on the snigger side of snug. I have a bag on the floor next to wardrobe with a bunch of pencil skirts in it. Keeping the nicest ones for when I return to work (grey wool skirt isn't appropriate for summer). In the meantime I'm trialling other outfits. If they fit im keeping if not I'm ditching. Today's outfit includes a bright orange/coral skirt. It's lovely. But it's 3 years old and is on the verge of becoming too tight. This may be its last hurrah.

If anyone wants a size 10 knee length cotton coral/orange skirt I'd be more than happy to share the love and send it across. Just pm me.

Loveabaconsandwich · 23/05/2017 08:59

I wish I could fit in your skirt em, I'm sure it's lovely. Can you post a picture it may motivate me to eat less!

On that note, I am going to try and eat better. The bathroom scales weren't too unkind earlier but I want to fit back in a size 10 and I'm a definite 12 at the moment. I will not buy pudding today, maybe nice fruit.

Can anyone recommend sun cream for eczema/sensitive skin for DD please? She's so sensitive to it around her elbows/knees. Someone has recommended forever living suncream but it's only factor 30 and I have fair haired/skinned DC who sizzle in the sun! I would be unreasonable to take her to the doctors and see if he will prescribe something?

WreckTangled · 23/05/2017 09:08

Ah man £60 in sainsburys.

LonelyOversharer · 23/05/2017 09:34

It is technically impossible to spend less that £60 in sainsburys wreck Its why I avoid it!

Dd3 has gone to Grandmas for the day, I told dp I'd meet him back at the school car park, when I got there he'd gone! No purse, phone. So, have walked 1.5 miles more than I was planning! did me good

I was 9st 8lb this morning. This is the lightest I've been for 5 years. Will fit my dress today for sunday.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 23/05/2017 09:36

Sat here in tears watching the news Sad who does that?? Angry I honestly despair for the human race sometimes, targeting teenage girls/ young people is just beyond disgusting.

Laska5772 · 23/05/2017 09:46

.... there are no words .

Coppersulphate · 23/05/2017 09:50

Some of those poor kids are only just teenagers.
DS works in central Manchester. Not bothering to try and get in today. Working from home.
It is terrifying. A concert for kids. Bastards.

Laska5772 · 23/05/2017 09:56

Totally and utterly appalling .. and believe me i cannot put my total disgust of the coward who did it into any words .and my sadness for the families and people of Manchester concerned

.But also - here amongst friends- I hope you dont mind me also saying i now also fear that the prospect of a Tory landslide is now been given a massive boost.. Sad

Laska5772 · 23/05/2017 09:59

And i fear for anyone who isnt 'quite british enough' for any reason in the next few years
