Cats

Ok, so have you done the basics of switching utility suppliers, chasing bank account switch incentives, packed lunches, meal planning, shopping using basics ranges or Aldi (although I'm using waitrose online now due to offers & the mywaitrose card), Cashback sites, shopping apps like checkout smart, the moneysaving expert weekly email, turning appliances off at the wall, turning the water tank stat down?.

I used my neutrogena acne light mask. I swear my skins clearer after one use. If I'd waited till Thursday I'd have got £10 advantage card points but I will not dwell on that It's anti aging too!. I will look 18 tomorrow.

Lonely Mix a small amount and do a patch test on the crook of your arm. Hair dye allergies are big news in beauty right now.

I was bra interventioned, 28DD/E. Teeny tiny boobs. M&S had me in 34AA Hmm it caused me years of backache Angry & my straps fell down.

Dh left his card at home today so he couldn't buy booze, then someone bought him a bottle of jd. I predict a hangover tm.

WreckTangled · 22/05/2017 18:41

Seacow the heat probably isn't helping. I was so swollen with dd in the summer even my face was!

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/05/2017 18:42

I think dpony will take up needs £4K. He's not a cheap date.

meadow You only need to pass, you don't need a first in everything.

LonelyOversharer · 22/05/2017 18:54

Thanks fluffy I will do that tonight. I take it that's very tender skin so will react quickly? Am quite dubious, but quite grey!

meadow onwards and upwards! Rest up tonight, good luck tomorrow, and that will be another one done. guinea pig therapy recommend

ememem84 · 22/05/2017 18:58

And for whoever asked I've asked to finish work on 15 sept. Due date is 28th sept. Mat leave will officially start on 2 oct. The first couple of weeks will be annual leave.

I've just ordered some maternity shorts from asos. Yay.

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/05/2017 19:06

Or behind your ear Lonely that's a sensitive place.

I think D Pony will absorb the money too.

Em check your T&C as if EmBoy comes early the will start your maternity leave on the Sunday before then or on the day of birth in some organisations so make sure you don't lose any annual leave. Get it in writing about what they do if Emboy comes early

ChristmasSeacow · 22/05/2017 19:21

Lonely I seem to remember you have very long hair - will one pack be enough?!

Fluffy that's a teeny tiny back, not such teeny tiny boobs! Glad the face is perking up.

Em I was going to say the same as Life. Most employers won't actually let your mat leave start after your due date anyway. Your T&Cs might be unusual but defo worth checking.

Wreck you are right, the heat probably isn't helping, also having only gone to bed for 90 mins, as I suspect the swelling reduces when I lie down overnight. I am going to lie down a lot this evening to help it along!

ememem84 · 22/05/2017 20:10

im pretty sure that there was nothing about Mat leave starting on a specific date if baby comes early. But will check again. When I had the chat with hr they said that leave could start whenever. The statutory payment I'll get will only start once the baby's here. But works can start whenever.

In my email I did set out how I thought it would work and added "will this be acceptable" to the end so if they need to tweak it they can.

I only get 4.5 months (18 weeks - 2 at full pay, 10 at 90% pay and 6 unpaid) so want to have as long as poss off. If I use the remainder of my annual leave at the start and then some of my 2018 allowance at the end I should get closer to 5.5 months. I can take longer but it'll be unpaid. I may take longer but that depends on what they agree with me re going back. If I'm allowed to work reduced hours (even just until the end of 2018) I'll go back in Feb. If not and it has to be full time I'll take additional time as unpaid. Dh thinks we could afford for me to go back in April/may of next year if I took unpaid leave.

Laska5772 · 22/05/2017 20:12

OOOPs started something there!

Em no I am (i consider) largish of nork . usually 36E or F although sadly as i am bigger all over than last summer the bra I bought today was a 38D !! But am now taking it back ,as I have now found one in drawer which fits! (and as I am now desperately trying to lose as much as I can in 4 weeks....for my hols) Am mainly following the blood sugar diet but did have some wine this last weekend and may do again next)Blush.

I am ashamed to saythat I have used two packs of 400g mince in the Bol/chilli base i am making this evening , though that will be portioned up into about 8 and put in freezer so ican just get one out at a time .... Lots of veg in there as well!

Dinner tonight was courgetti made from Waitrose reduced courgettes , with pesto garlic and cheese.. yum!

welcome Cat Loads of great advice(and chat) here.. My twopenneth is to recommend you try out YNAB it has transformed my spending and saving ..

Aww mammy that's lovely

Em I'm feeling sad that you get so little time off. I stupidly thought you'd have the same as us you do have the same tv after all obviously it's way better than what you get in the US etc but it's still not enough. I don't think people in this county realise how lucky we are.

CremeEggThief · 22/05/2017 20:19

It was on course to be an NSD, but arrived home at nearly 7.30, to find DS hadn't made himself and omelette as agreed (he usually cooks for himself on Mondays, as I go to Pilates straight from work ), so I sent him to get chips from the Chinese and put some Quorn 'fish' fingers in the oven. So, £4 for 2 massive portions of chips and a can of Fanta for DS.

Cagliostro · 22/05/2017 20:21

Em since you asked about my boobs (we do share a lot on this thread don't we 😂) I think pregnancy has increased the size each time. Although it's partly general weight gain TBH 😳😳

Soft play was good, spent a bit on food/drink but it's a once a month event that I think we will go to again. Caglets had fun and because it was a ticketed event it was a little less crowded than it would normally be.

Got some anti nausea stuff from the GP which I'll collect tomorrow. Even if it just takes the edge off it'll be worth it!

Tap class paid for, will do holiday payment tomorrow. DD has decided to stop Brownies now. She's had a good time there but was starting to enjoy it less and less (apart from camp where they do climbing etc). I'm quietly pleased because they'd just moved halls and changed times which would've made it expensive to drop her off (not on bus route so need a taxi if I'm unwell). She also found the new hall too big and echoey and little changes/noise like that really affect her. Need to contact brown owl and offer to still pay for the term but that's only £25.

Laska5772 · 22/05/2017 20:22

All posting at once!
need great news on the 4k ,, but yes i also reckon it wil be pony not shoes .. (or pony shoes?)
Mammy last year there were a group of peacocks which used to walk up and down the main street in our village , I think they came from a a local attraction (about 3 miles off) .

Cagliostro · 22/05/2017 20:24

Oooh nice peacock! We were learning about a king today (Ludwig II) who loved peacocks

ememem84 · 22/05/2017 20:25

mammy is that your wedding dress? Lovely idea x x and lovely mr peacock! They make the weirdest noise!

wreck I was convinced I had the same amount of time as yous guys. Sadly it came as a bit of a shock to me too!! Still some companies here only allow the stat time off (18 weeks) and don't give any additional pay. I'm lucky I get the additional pay. A friend of mine said the stat pay £234 a week I think just wasn't enough. I'll get the 10% pay they take off mine back once I've been back for 6 months. So it'll be there waiting for me as an incentive to go back.

Friends have said I should quit and find another job and negotiate my hours on my return. But I'm happy there, I don't want to leave. I have the fabled work life balance which three years ago I didn't have. And best of all they don't want to lose me. So everything is to be negotiated to make sure everyone is happy.

Laska5772 · 22/05/2017 20:29

Cagliostro · 22/05/2017 21:01

Noooo! I am here!

Fab pic! :)

ememem84 · 22/05/2017 21:05

Wow laksa that is not how I pictured you at all! Love the hair!!

I had short hair like that once. It was all fine until I washed it and it flopped. And went shapeless. Then I just hated it. My head doesn't suit a pixie cut.

Incidentally I picture sunny as a tall willowy blond pixie cropped person.

This is me.

Coppersulphate · 22/05/2017 21:09

Need, HMRC sending you £4000 back, wow, but, like the others say, DPony will use it up.
Meadow, hope the exams go well.
