Definitely worth a try Em.
I was paying £30 an hour for a personal trainer. It would've been cheaper through the local leisure centre, but not as flexible.
The picture of a quilt I've made for dd. I started it about 3 years ago & finally finished it last night! It's the first quilt I've made all myself with no help. I'm so proud of it & dd loves it. It's designed to be a runner for at the bottom of her bed but she's put it over the back of the sofa.
Hard day at work today but quite productive. Definitely having an early night tonight.

Beautiful, North. So cosy looking too, over the back of the sofa. Your DD has an eye for styling!

That's great about your DD, Cag.Star

I hope you find out your results soon, Wreck.Brew

Watching "Further Back in Time for Dinner" and then checking out "Moorside" at 9 p.m. (the dramatisation of the Shannon Matthews case).

Cagliostro · 07/02/2017 20:35

Thanks for the tip about Moorside, I shall watch that. Although I'm a bit worried that Sheridan Smith will be playing someone horrible and I LOVE her. Saw her as Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors once, she was amaaaazing.

I don't have the TV on much myself (mostly use it for DVDs/wii and kid stuff) so never see adverts for interesting things. I use iPlayer etc, currently watching Apple Tree Yard and Unforgotten (and still need to see Worst Witch and the new Lucy Worsley thing).

Wreck I hope they give you some answers soon - that sounds thoroughly miserable.

North amazing quilt! So beautiful :).

CremeEggThief · 07/02/2017 20:38

Sheridan is playing the supportive neighbour, who put a lot of time and effort into organising search parties, Cag, so no need to worry Smile.

Cagliostro · 07/02/2017 20:44

Yay! Thanks. I can't imagine her as a villain, it may destroy my world view :o

I need to catch up with Apple Tree Yard. I watched the first ep & part of the second but nothing since. I read the book but can't remember the ending.

Lovely quilt

mammymammyIRL · 07/02/2017 20:58

North quilt is gorgeous well done ✅

Tryingtosaveup · 07/02/2017 21:56

Well done to your DD Cag. She must be seriously good to be chosen. Particularly as she is relatively new.
Life. I love the quilt. I sew but am not nearly that good. It is beautiful. We have one that my exDH's mother made for DD when she was 3. Her 8 year old DD now loves it. ( won't say how old DD is now). Yours will also be passed on I think
Mammy that dress is gorgeous and would look great at an "occasion"

Needastrongone · 07/02/2017 21:57

What a beautiful quilt North. You are so talented and patient. Well done. Lovely colours.

Mammy What's it for? I'm 5ft and skinny. Height wise, I wouldn't be able to carry it off.

2 classes. 1 run. I am pooped and having a wine (or two).

Needastrongone · 07/02/2017 21:59

I thought it was culottes and blouse? Smile

mammymammyIRL · 07/02/2017 22:06

It is culottes & a blouse & they're both from primark! The stylist wearing it is a size 12 but I don't know what height or body shape.

I'm going to a 50th birthday party sat night with dh, it's our first night out in 'town' in yearsSmile I've got sandals that would match perfectly

Needastrongone · 07/02/2017 22:11

Well, Primark do some amazing things at great prices, what's not to lose for buying and trying? Sandals, especially with a heel would work. Go for it Mammy.

mammymammyIRL · 07/02/2017 22:19

Oh definitely with a heel, I can't go on a night out in flats at all, don't feel dressed if I do.

SnugglySnerd · 08/02/2017 07:45

Love the quilt, wish I could sew but I don't have the patience!
DD has woken up full of cold so looks like a quiet day after we've been to the supermarket. She has requested to do baking later so I think we'll make some scones after all the scone talk on here the other day!
Have meal planned based on contents of freezer and cupboards but typically we need all sorts of things like kitchen roll and dishwasher tablets so I'm not sure shopping will be any cheaper!

WreckTangled · 08/02/2017 07:50

I might make some cheese scones. Need to do some housework this morning them I'm going charity shop trawling later as dd needs to dress up for world book day on Monday

need I didn't realise you were so petite. I'm often confused by your very assertive mode of speech, but it makes more sense knowing your physical build, iykwim. I've always noticed that very petite people seem to need to be more assertive to be listened to, whereas I constantly have to dial it back because otherwise I would come over as very overbearing. I'm 5'10" and Germanic looking, so very assertive speech from me tends to set people running away. It's very useful for text converation like this to realise that there are physical differences that we can't see.

ememem84 · 08/02/2017 08:31

mammy cute outfit! Go for it. I don't think I'd be able to pull it off, in 5'10 so the trousers would probably flap round my knees!!

Dh is going to speak to his mate who he's stagging with in April so we can get the dates right then I can change the flights.

Leftover pasta bake for lunch. Mmm

Appraisal today. Eeek

CathodeRayTube · 08/02/2017 08:34

mammy the outfit's lovely. Definitely worth a try. Smile

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 08/02/2017 09:22

wreck your cst is awesome!

north thsts a very pretty quilt, very well done! Its such an achievement to finish a massive project. My mum is quilting the saw tooth cat quilt I made for dd1 when she was a baby, never got it done and mum is quilting it by hand (she's been doing it for years). Problem is it just won't fit in dd1's now teenage room of doom! I rarely finish large projects (muuuuum can you just...)

Ordered the wrong size fence posts so got that changed first thing and will get refunded the difference.

cath oh for some of your presence! I am one of life's invisible people. I literally get stepped on, people just stand infront of me in queues, and the person behind me frequently gets served before me! Very frustrating. I'm bog standard 5'7". I now only wear turquoise, purple and magenta clothes (with jeans), so at least they can't say they didn't see me, and are just in fact rude.

mammymammyIRL · 08/02/2017 09:33

Thanks guys - going to try on Fri eve/Sat morn.

CathodeRayTube · 08/02/2017 09:46

Gosh! Knitting That must be very weird and frustrating. Good idea to wear very bright clothes. It must be tempting to just sing very loudly everywhere you go.

I had no idea that other people's experience could be so different. I love this thread for getting insight into how different other people's lives are. It helps me to understand me own. Smile

I learned a few years ago that people were less scared by me if I sit down, and that helps a lot. I end up perched on all sorts of unlikely surfaces though and it gets quite comical sometimes. Recently I've met a person who gets furiously angry if I sit down, because he is very little and gets resentful if people try to make accommodations. One time he shouted at me because of it, and I just stand very far away from him now.

SnugglySnerd · 08/02/2017 10:11

I often feel invisible too, lots of people walk into me or in front of me even with the huge bump. I just assumed people are very rude!

Result at the supermarket, £47 which was mostly cleaning stuff, cat stuff and a big bottle of shampoo plus extra toothpaste for my hospital bag.

Think we have enough food for another cupboard and freezer week next week and we shouldn't need all the cleaning products again so it should be even less.
