Yes I think generally people are just unobservant! 😂🙄

£100 on Tesco delivery this morning and I feel like we've got fuck all food for it - much of it was household stuff.

2 prescriptions to pay for as well, not got ABs (doc is sending my sample off instead as it was borderline), instead we are trying an ear spray for the pain, and lansoprazole for the tummy ache - although she did say that could be stress (ya think?! 😂) - worth a shot though.

I scribbled A LOT on my letter and gave it back for them to amend. She had missed one of my main diagnoses for a start (and it's RIGHT THERE at the top of my notes - I asked the GP I saw today to check!) 😡 and the way it was worded made it look like my main issue is that I'm depressed rather than, y'know, in constant pain 🙄 - anyway I took a photo of my amendments as well so when I collect it again I will check. And not leave until it's right.

SnugglySnerd · 08/02/2017 11:47

Good for you, Cag, the letter is costing quite a lot it should be right!

CathodeRayTube · 08/02/2017 12:03

Snuggly and Knitting that's really very interesting to understand your different experience.

No one ever bumps into me at all, ever. Once I stopped at the side of a road to cross and a taxi stopped stopped spontaneously to let me cross, even though he could just have driven on. I only noticed because My Mum and my proxi-Granny were sitting in the car across the road waiting for me and my tiny proxi-granny pointed it out.

When I'm walking on pavements people tend to look at my eyes to see which way I'm going to go so they can get out of the way.

MeadowHay · 08/02/2017 12:14

I'm another invisible and whilst it is frustrating sometimes (I get sick of people always expecting me to move out of the way if we're coming at each other in different directions etc), I also see some benefit in it because I don't like strangers sitting close to me and things like that. People tend to keep out my way as well, think they can tell by looking at me that I'm "odd" Grin. I feel that often people with ASD are perceived to be "odd" straight away even if others can't vocalise why/what it is. That's been my experience anyway. But I like people keeping out of my way really.

Yesterday spent £3 on two oreo doughnuts from the library café on campus for DH and I to go with our lunch. I was feeling a bit sad as a tutor said that I don't put enough effort into checking my work and perfecting it which is apparently why I'm more of a 2:1 student than a first class student. Sad But then to be honest I should have brought up my mental health problems because she is aware of them and like realistically it obviously does affect my attainment. Maybe if I didn't have crippling anxiety and mild depression I would be getting firsts but I do have a lot of MH stuff to contend with which most other students do not so I think it's a bit naive to just say I need to spend longer checking my work because I'm too exhausted to spend more time on it usually. Ah well.

Love the quilt btw!

Got a headache, a mild cold/sinusitis (probs why I've got a headache), and period cramps. And have a two-hour pole fitness class soon, don't think it will go very well!! And then work til 8pm straight after. Had a chill morning though.

Cagliostro · 08/02/2017 12:22

Meadow 2.1 is great. You have a lot to contend with as well x

OP posts:
mammymammyIRL · 08/02/2017 12:50

meadow 2:1 is fantastic, and like you said you struggle to keep going at times.

I'm not invisible but I look like staff wherever I go, I get asked all the time 'where would I find x?' ' I don't work here at all but I think it's such a place' is usually my answer!

SnugglySnerd · 08/02/2017 13:04

Meadow a 2:1 is great! I've fancied having a go at pole fitness, obviously not in my present condition! Is it very hard to do? I've always done pilates, yoga and riding so I have a strong core which I guess would help?

CathodeRayTube · 08/02/2017 14:19

meadow a 2:1 is great. If that's what you can get in spite of your MH issues then that's the result you want. That will give employers a clear idea of what you can physically do in a job and so you're more likely to be given work that you can enjoy and actually do long term, without burning out.

Needastrongone · 08/02/2017 15:54

I didn't realise that I had a very assertive mode of speech Cath GrinGrinGrin That's not an ironic statement, it's an honest one!!

Never associated my personality with my height before. I guess I might be assertive because of my height, I guess I never really thought about it too deeply.

I can see how you might think your height might be intimidating. I bet it isn't. 2 of my closest friends are very tall 5.8 and 5.10, both are very confident individuals. In fact, one of these is a gobshite!.

Anyway, you have made me think about something I never did think of, which is a good thing.

Spends.
£10 car wash, yes very expensive but hell fire it was filthy. Too much mud to clean on the drive.
£30 race entry fee.

Needastrongone · 08/02/2017 15:58

And no bugger would dare bump into me. Grin

Needastrongone · 08/02/2017 16:42

Just been very brave and investigated the whole house of DD's friend, who lives just over the street and who ran over in hysterics saying there was someone in her house, strange banging coming from upstairs. She's 15 and we are good friends with them so knew they wouldn't mind me trawling through her house while they were not there.

God knows what I would have done if I had found someone, which I didn't!!

WreckTangled · 08/02/2017 17:07

£8 on chips for lunch and a jumper and car for ds from charity shop. £5.69 on coffee and doughnuts.

ememem84 · 08/02/2017 17:43

£17 in m&s on lovely fruit and salad. And a pizza.

£5.49 in boots for eye drops for dh.

Appraisal went well today. Yippee! So hopefully a nice chunky bonus and a payrise for me.

I sometimes feel invisible. It sucks.

Although I do secretly enjoy not moving out of the way for people when walking through town. Especially for those who are on their phones the whole time. If you can't be bothered to look where you're going don't be suprised when I walk right into you.

CremeEggThief · 08/02/2017 17:57

I moved to London when I was 18 from Ireland and lived there 7 years and I made myself put on a very assertive persona, out of the house. 90% of the time other people moved out of my way on the street and I usually managed to get a seat on crowded public transport, probably about 75% of the time. I always made sure I got out of the way of elderly people, disabled people and parents pushing prams or with toddlers though. I would still say people tend to move for me, but I've never felt the same need to be assertive since moving from London. Interesting musings and realisations.

Meadow, apparently all the best people get a 2:1Smile. I got a 2:2.

What did you think of "Moorside", Cag? I thought it was excellent. There are mixed opinions about it on the thread in Telly Addicts though. I wish the 2nd part was on tonight, instead of next week. Did anyone else watch it?

Spends: £4.80 top-up bus fare to work, as my 2nd bus is operated by a different bus company.

CathodeRayTube · 08/02/2017 17:59

Well done need. You'd make a fantastic police officer. Smile

Cagliostro · 08/02/2017 18:01

I quite liked it, incredibly uncomfortable viewing though. I only just saw the last 20mins now on iplayer. Karen was very well acted I thought.

I just had a scone thanks to all the scone talk. Made me feel sick though. :( Nobody else likes them (or clotted cream) so that was a waste.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/02/2017 18:15

Meadow A 2:1 was acceptable for going onto do a masters on my BSc. I wonder if they could give you more time to edit because of the anxiety.

The only woman on my course to get a first was shit with patients, brilliant academically but unable to build a rapport on a 1:1 basis.

North Well done, I wouldn't know where to start. Literally. Not the foggiest.

need I channel you when I'm not happy with what's being asked of me, I walked upstairs the other week thinking "I bet need doesn't put up with this shite".

No one bumps into Dh, he's 6'3" & assertive the most abrupt man I've ever met

45p biscuits
£29 shoes from shoeaholics. They will probably go back.

I rang sky on my mobile in January, £4.90 for 10 minutes. What a fuck up. It was 0870 so I thought it was free. I'm quite cross with myself.

Needastrongone · 08/02/2017 18:15

You would be a more imposing figure though Cath on the detective front. Grin

CathodeRayTube · 08/02/2017 18:26

LOL! Need Thanks, I appreciate the compliment. I'm not sure I'm fierce enough to be a police officer, after all these years of trying not to scare people.

A colleague at my old job once said to me "You are like a lamp post. You stand around shining light down on people, while dogs piss on your legs."

He wasn't far wide of the mark with that.

SnugglySnerd · 08/02/2017 18:42

That was brave, Need!
Had chickpea and butternut squash slow cooker curry for tea. Already had all the ingredients so very frugal. It was really tasty, even persuaded DD to eat some!
We made scones today too, DD really enjoyed it and they are delicious but letting her eat one on the settee was a mistake - crumbs everywhere!
Fluffy (or anyone else, but I think Fluffy will know) is it worth getting gap insurance with a PCP deal? We did last time but we are now thinking of getting a different deal on a new car and I suspect it's one of those extras they talk you into that isn't really necessary. Need to spend as little as possible!

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/02/2017 18:46

Not really, gap policies make a lot of money for the salesman.

Dh is motor trade. But not a salesman.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 08/02/2017 18:52

Hello all, just catching up and laughing at all the height talk! I am 5ft 7in which used to feel tall but doesn't so much now, reckon dd will over take me in a couple of years. Fluffy you crack me up, I to will start muttering that when people start pissing me off Grin

Talking about feeling pissed off one of my many managers (chiefs and indians comes to mind Hmm) managed to piss me off before I even took my coat off this morning. I raised an eyebrow at how many bank holidays we are being asked to work and got a load of grief for it, this particular manager is known for OTT reactions but it did annoy me.

I have had a LSD £2 to dd for a school trip.

SnugglySnerd · 08/02/2017 18:55

That was quick, Fluffy, I knew you would know! Thanks, it's as I suspected then!!

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 08/02/2017 19:16

£9.75 chicken food, £10 in tescos 2 meal deals and a few bits cake and then £4.75 in the coop as I forgot the tin of toms I went into tescos for.

Slow day at the shop, so dp and I went village hall hunting for one of the road races we are putting on this year. Nice to get out for a wee drive, the car was warmer than the shop (we are in an industrial unit).

Oh, and I'm up $48 for five pink pigs - etsy order! Yay. I will convert this into a cooking apple tree and a victoria plum tree. 2 hours work for free fruit!

CremeEggThief · 08/02/2017 19:48

Yes! Ovo have finally credited my smart meter with my £140 warm home discount. They were very slow compared to Eon, who sorted it in October, when I was with them. But anyway, the important thing is that as long as I'm careful, I'll have 7 or 8 weeks where I don't have to top up now.Grin
