Hi all :)

Haven't got out of bed yet. Ouch. Back on the stronger drugs for a couple of days I think! :o

I've stalled on the decluttering which is really frustrating. But tomorrow isn't as busy as we thought so should be able to manage a bit.

Not heard a peep out of the redeployment organiser people :( losing hope TBH. It's so frustrating. I could be at work now if I had a desk job. I am capable of it! Since I've finished that editing job I've been bored at the lack of direction IYSWIM? It's partly that, and partly the fact I'm worried about people thinking I just can't be bothered to work.

WreckTangled · 23/03/2016 12:21

FRUGAL WIN!

Fluffy will be proud....

Our toilet seat is broken, we've had it since January last year, it's got a build in child seat and is soft close, but all the hinges have gone and the magnet fell out. Anyway I was looking on Amazon for a replacement and decided to email the seller and they're going to send us a new one Smile £25 saved.

blueteapot · 23/03/2016 12:30

Hi everyone :) welcome pixie and any other new folk

creme Flowers I hope things pick up soon. Cant imagine my DS being old enough to punch walls but Im sure it'll come!

Ive already forgotten all the other people to reply to sorry!

Work have approved dropping to 3 days so Im feeling a lot better about things - drops my wage by a quarter so all help welcome! Cant put a price on mental health

WreckTangled · 23/03/2016 12:34

Blue I'm getting paid tomorrow and you and girlie usually get paid on the same day as me. Work is ridiculous atm we need more doctors but we can't find any. We had fourteen visits yesterday and four Drs in, but only three in the afternoon. Everyone is stressed but no one knows what the answer is. I hope the reduced hours help you feel better about it all.

CremeEggThief · 23/03/2016 13:56

Thanks Blue. Pleased your part-time hours have been approved. It's going to make a big difference to your work/life balance.

NSD here.

Cag, hopefully a day of rest will help you a bit. You probably over did it a bit with your decluttering.

Speaking of Girlie, has anyone heard from her, as she hasn't been on for a while?

EvaDelectorskaya · 23/03/2016 15:02

Hi All, I hope it's OK for me to join. I have been reading your posts and I'm inspired to try to spend and save money more wisely.
DH and I are lucky to be in quite a good position financially at the minute with reasonably good incomes and relatively low outgoings. However, that may change in the next few years as we hope to move to a bigger house and expand our family with me working part time. I really don't want to find ourselves in a few years time, feeling financial pressure and wishing we had made the most of the time when we could afford to save etc.

Ememem84 · 23/03/2016 17:23

Today's spends £2.55 on a sandwich. And am about to get my nails done.

Such a busy day at work. But managed to get out on time and a now early for my appointment. Perusing the colours.

Pointlessfan · 23/03/2016 17:41

Welcome eve!
Frugal fai, the meal I'd left in the slow cooker is absolutely disgusting. I know why, I used silken tofu instead of firm. The texture made me retch so it's all going in the bin (DH didn't like it either).
Luckily found some curry in the freezer otherwise we'd have been getting chips.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 23/03/2016 17:45

Hi all sorry not been on here for a few days, on Friday dd was blue lighted to hospital with breathing difficulties and ended up in intensive care! Completely terrifying as am sure you can imagine, there are no PICU beds in my area so we went by a specialist ambulance to a hospital an hour and a half away.

It has turned out that she developed a rare but potentially lethal complication to flu (don't want to say what as massively identifying only 1 in a million children develop it!)

We have been let home today with an open door to the local hospital ward if I have even the slightest concern with dd I am to take her in, going to watching her like a hawk for next few days. Think I have seriously aged about 20 years in the last 5 days, I would not wish what we have been through on anyone.

Not caught up with thread but hope you are all o.kay.

Pointlessfan · 23/03/2016 17:51

Oh my goodness, girlie you poor things! Pleased she is ok and I hope she continues to get better. Take care Flowers

WreckTangled · 23/03/2016 17:55

Oh wow girlie what a stressful time you've both had! Poor dd I hope she is back to her normal self soon Thanks (we will forgive you for being awol from the thread!)

babsmam · 23/03/2016 18:22

Girlie Your poor girl. You must be wrung out.

Welcome eve good idea to make hay while the sun shines

35p on curry sauce. Went in for two more free beers but they've sold out.

Good news on the hours Blue, healthcare seems to be much harder recently.

babsmam · 23/03/2016 19:30

I love those colour nails.

needastrongone · 23/03/2016 20:09

Oh girlie, that's a dreadful thing. Oh your poor DD and you, you must be exhausted. How is your DD now? How are you? A parents worst nightmare. I know you are a sensible and calm parent normally, but this must have been a hell of a scare. Thinking of you xx

Welcome Eve. Sensible idea to get some comfort blanket savings around you. There's lot of tips here for you.

Spends today;
£11 M&S on flowers and card for DM's birthday.
£21 taking DM out for lunch for her birthday.
£50 hair, but that's budgeted for anyway each month.

Had a mahoosive email from our accountants, with a million permutations re income payments, given the end of the tax year is near. I'm still digesting it, trying to find the most tax efficient way of doing things.

DD goes to America tomorrow snowboarding, have to drop her off at school in the early hours. She's been in tears all evening, leaving the pony, not us Smile

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 23/03/2016 20:15

Pointlessfan · 23/03/2016 20:26

That's reassured me eastmids, I got a free delivery code after you mentioned it on here.

WreckTangled · 23/03/2016 20:33

That's good east maybe they've got better? I've always waited 4-6 weeks but it always says when I've placed the order so it's not like I wasn't aware it would be a while.

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/03/2016 20:42

Need You'll have to go offshore Wink I know you won't

Are you sure you can look after the pony?. You've only raised two kids, not sure you have the skills.

needastrongone · 23/03/2016 20:48

I prefer the pony to be honest, he talks more sense. And lives in a field....

Perhaps offshore is an option....Smile
