Oh creme that sounds truly shit. I hope you still enjoy London.

Something amazing happened yesterday (not frugal related) but you all know how difficult I find the school run etc. Anyway I went to get dd and one of the other mums saw me getting out of the car and actually waited for me so we walked in together. I spend most of my time thinking everyone hates me so this small thing made me really happy.

CremeEggThief · 22/03/2016 17:53

Aw, that's lovely, Wreck. Life feels better with friendsSmile. I know we will still have a nice time, but I wouldn't have booked it, if they hadn't been coming over. I could have done with having the money.

Thanks all. DS has apologised, which I've accepted, but it doesn't mean he's getting his phone back just yet. I'm also not getting him Weetabix for a while, as the mess he makes when he has it is shocking.

Cagliostro · 22/03/2016 18:05

Aw Wreck that's lovely. Little gestures like that can make such a big difference! :)

Creme I'm glad he's apologised. I'd definitely be eating his easter egg myself though if I were you... :o

PixieChops · 22/03/2016 18:24

Thanks everyone for the welcome, reckon I'll get the hang of it round here.
So we've paid the taxman today as we have a payment plan and we have to pay our rent tomorrow. Waiting for a cheque to clear first though.
Spent £11 on things for dinner today. We do our big shop on a Wednesday so managed to make our food shop last a full week and that was the only time we've had to buy extra so pretty pleased.

Ememem84 · 22/03/2016 18:48

creme fluffy rubbish days.

wreck so nice when random kind things happen.

Tonight's dinner is freezer curry on baked sweet potatoes and cheese. Yum

Dh is going to the shop tonight. Estimating £50.

Day got better. No spends on silly things. I'm getting my nails done tomorrow so will be able to spend on myself then. Thinking of getting a totally unprofessional neon pink manicure.

Pointlessfan · 22/03/2016 19:08

That's lovely wreck. Sorry to hear about creme and fluffy's bad days though.
I'm very down in the dumps today, not really sure why. My knees hurt which makes me tired and grumpy. I also had to tell off DD today as she kept kicking me while I was changing her nappy. Tried a nice "don't kick mummy please" followed by a firm "stop kicking mummy" and then a very firm "mummy is getting cross now". She continued to kick and laugh! What do you do with toddlers when they respond like that? I put her in her cot and left her for a few mins. She cried then apologized when I went back in. I couldn't think what else to do.
Anyway, I found we had a lot of stale bread so made a frugal bread & butter pudding which is almost ready.

Cagliostro · 22/03/2016 19:10

Spends:
£3.68 Co-op - milk and croissants
£1.30 bus pass for DD
£39 quarterly bus pass for DD (starts tomorrow)
£5 creative writing (today and last week's one that we missed)

Been pretty good spend-wise since getting home. Tomorrow will change that though!

Colliefeatures · 22/03/2016 19:35

Hey all,

Another NSD. We are hoping to relocate within the South West. So we will be saving hard and overpaying the mortgage. We need to build our equity asap.

creme and fluffy Flowers sounds like a hard day for you both.

I'm about to do my food shop to be delivered on Thursday night ahead of the Easter weekend. Fingers crossed that there's a slot. I haven't planned this well at all! I forgot we had a bank holiday weekend coming up. Blush

needastrongone · 22/03/2016 20:17

Creme, they are sods at times aren't they teenagers? It must have been pretty scary when your DS punched the wall. Glad he apologised and hope you are ok.

Ah fluffy, I have a terrible sense of smell too, hope you are feeling ok.

That's nice wreck.

LSD, £6 at Aldi on Easter eggs and milk.

I am in bed. I feel shivery and achy. Dh has gone to the shop. I have a hot water bottle. And a nice cup of tea. And my books. Yay.

Have just spent £15 at Amazon on Filofax notepad refil. And toothbrush heads. Glam.

CremeEggThief · 22/03/2016 20:30

I didn't actually notice it until after he'd gone, Need. I was more annoyed that he acted as if he didn't care/ it didn't matter/ he can't help being angry, etc. than actually doing it. Even after I told him the Housing Association would take a dim view of deliberate damage to their property, he was saying so what? Angry There are cracks in the plasterwork all over the house. A. Not true. The house is in good condition. B Even if it were true, deliberate damage is very different from general wear and tear over time. Hmm

CremeEggThief · 22/03/2016 20:30

Sorry to hear that, Em. Get well soon.Brew

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/03/2016 20:31

The school gate sounds like hard work to me.

Have you got any zinc tablets em? I keep some in and take a handful when I feel like somethings starting.

I'm looking at recipes for cake made with oil because I want us to be palm oil free. Rock & Roll. It should be cheaper than using butter and I'm allergic to milk anyway.

Ememem84 · 22/03/2016 20:43

fluffy I've got vitamin c and zinc. Just taken three and washed down with orange juice. That should do it.

Cannot wait for the long weekend.

bootygirl · 22/03/2016 20:53

Thanks Tayto.
If I cancel multi room I ll be paying €29 a month. We are with Eir for broad band & home phone. That's €65 per month😳 Plus we have mobiles with Eir but might change?
Bought Easter eggs for DS's €10 for 2 medium ones & bought 3 small ish ones for €5! Will share between me and DH😳 Even though I should be on a pre summer diet🙄😎
Had to pay for lessons €60. Plus musical instrument (DS early early b.day present ).! €210😳 So very spendy!
Fluffy & Creme💐 Hope your day's end better!

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 22/03/2016 23:43

Hello all very pleased as won a Facebook comp for a gro clock and PJs I chose ds1 PJs as they can be passed onto ds2 and would cost £24 to buy so despite me preferring a pair for ds2 it was more frugal to get for ds1.

Have a Saintsbury shop coming tomorrow night dh got a £18 off £60 first shop voucher from whsmith so have stocked up on cboard bits and spent £62 so cost £45izh delivered as chose £1 delivery slot

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 23/03/2016 00:44

Quiet day here. Had to do a small food shop, asda £43, put it on my asda cc for a whopping 43p cashback. The big car will be £600+ to fix. Thinking seriously about ditching it soon before much more goes wrong with it. We want a five seater, as then we can convoy if needs be (actually more fuel efficient than taking the big car), but means I can take all dc if dp is in hospital. Brain says we still need a 7 seater though.

I took one for the team and pedalled home (10miles uphill), so dp could fit the little kids in the c1 (dd1 on sleepover), so saved 20 miles of fuel on second shuttle run.Win win as I badly need the exercise and wasn't as hard as I thought it would be dp usually pedals, but is too porly atm. Definatley thyroid, he's started the tablets. Fingers crossed for an improvement soon.

Managed to spend just £10 in hobbycraft, for what I went in for. This is a massive win for me!

babsmam · 23/03/2016 06:04

Will be popping into home bargains today so some money may fall out of my purse. Charity thing at work for which I'm currently baking scones , couple of pound but that's lunch sorted.
Have run out of some baking stuff but will go to aldi one day or add it to sains. I haven't done my bank holiday slot yet collie . Hope there are some left

Pointlessfan · 23/03/2016 07:23

So you know I've been on about getting some new clothes for ages... I got 2 tops and a pair of comfy teacher shoes in Sainsbury's and then spent £57 online in H&M, I got 7 items for that as several of the things I chose were in the sale. I'm very excited and hoping they arrive before we go on holiday on Saturday!
Going to get a gro blind today, I have some Love 2 Shop vouchers that should cover it then we're going out to see some chicks and lambs at a local farm.

WreckTangled · 23/03/2016 07:35

Pointless that sounds like a lot for the money Smile (watch out for h&m delivery though....)

I'm aiming for a nsd. Ds at pre school this morning so I'll be doing washing and making soup.

Pointlessfan · 23/03/2016 07:39

Oh no, don't tell me H&M delivery is really unreliable??

WreckTangled · 23/03/2016 07:49

It's just reeeeaaaaalllllllyyyyyy slow. They do keep you updated with eta though

Ememem84 · 23/03/2016 07:56

beat sleep ever last night. Woke up at 730. Oops.
Getting my nails done today which is a relief as they've gotten too long to function now. So £35 ish.

Also have to take car to the garage so it can be services tomorrow. Possibly a spendy one. But necessary.

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 23/03/2016 09:28

I'm back here after some time off... totally gone off the frugaleer bandwagon..

I've had unexpected bills this week..

£268 for one unexpected bill.
£163 car tyre including fitting etc.

I've also opened up a halifax help to buy isa so transferred 1k into that. I have set up a standing order of 200 a month to go into it.

Yesterday I spent all day cooking numerous food items off and using stuff from the freezer. I ended up making a lasagne with leftover mix for two portion of spag bol, one cheese and onion pie, minced beef onion pie and a potato and leek soup which I've portioned off.

I then defrosted one freezer. The plan today is to defrost one of our other freezers (we have three in total) and do a complete cupboard/freezer food inventory.
I shall then make a meal plan up for next couple of weeks and write my next lot of shopping down. I am planning on running down all food in order to stock up and will reorder each freezer and restock it to how I like. I'm scared I'm becoming a bit OCD about this.

Pointlessfan · 23/03/2016 10:44

That's not good wreck, I'm going away for a week on Saturday!
