Super try h&m I am a recent convert if you google there is always a code last couple weeks 6406 has worked for 20% off and free delivery but think its ended now

Cagliostro · 18/03/2016 13:16

Hey Frugaleers! Wow 10 pages to catch up on.

I've decided that now would be a good chance for a namechange. I'm hoping this one sticks! The next paragraph should give away who I am :o (but I'd rather you didn't say IYSWIM).

Holiday was fab, I feel like I struck the right balance between resting and joining in with stuff, I even managed a little swim! DH has one more week off before starting his new job so we'll be cracking on with the house, although it's a busy week with various home ed activities and we also got picked for the Harry Potter event Shock :). Still, determined to make it a productive week. I'm really glad I finished the editing before I went as I don't have that hanging over me now, there's only the pictures that need to be uploaded but the ball is in their court for that bit really. So any spare time for the next 8ish days will be spent decluttering and tidying! And getting back on the frugal wagon of course. :)

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/03/2016 13:30

What's it worth to keep quiet? Grin

Glad you had a good holiday. I'd love a clear out, I have a leather chair that could do with going. Dh says he might need it. Might isn't cutting any ice, quite frankly.

Cagliostro · 18/03/2016 13:44

:o

I know the feeling. Except in my case it's mostly me who can't let go of stuff! Must do better. Blush

WreckTangled · 18/03/2016 14:51

Nsd successful. Did you have fun Cag? I got dd a science encyclopaedia from the book people think she will love it.

Colliefeatures · 18/03/2016 15:29

Hey cag was it a good week?

NSD today! Thank goodness.

Having a road trip tomorrow to see a friend! So excited. Grin

Cagliostro · 18/03/2016 15:35

It was brilliant thank you :o

Although have been brought back to earth with a bump as the washing machine is leaking. Not too badly, but still we are ordering a replacement seal!

AdoraBell · 18/03/2016 15:58

Glad you had such a good holiday Cagliostro

£7 in the pet supply place
£18 in M&S, I needed underwear

Will try to catch up properly later.

jobrum · 18/03/2016 16:12

I have bought a bag of crisps and a chocolate bar today for £1.40. I always bring lunch into work but it's the wrong time of the month to be skimping on chocolate and crisps! Nearly everyone has gone home early so I am going to get a cup of coffee and eat the rest of my Yorkie while -mooching the internet- working hard.

I have began an online shop and am adding things to make sure I can make the most of the fresh stuff we already have. Planned meals! Go me!

beesarethebest · 18/03/2016 17:02

I've had a name change too. But I don't really post that often (well I used to)... It's Friday I can't believe we got to here! Not sure what's for dinner.l. Any ideas to inspire me (before I go to the takeaway?!!!!).

TGIF.

WreckTangled · 18/03/2016 17:06

We're having shepherds pie but only because I had already got the mince out. Otherwise it would def have been take away!!

jobrum · 18/03/2016 17:28

We have beef mince in the fridge which I am turning into burgers. Cheese, softened onions, some of the wilting lettuce in the fridge, perhaps sweet potato turned into fries. Yum.

Ipsos · 18/03/2016 17:51

Thanks Girlie for the thoughts on school. That's exactly what I think. Thanks for the offer of a listening ear need. I went to see the senco and it turns out that she agrees 100% with me and with Girlie's comments above. She asked me to write to the national press and to the MP and ask them to sort the problem out asap. Refreshing, but doesn't solve ds's immediate struggles. However, as usual a nasty virus has solved the problem for us and we are having a week off, albeit a pretty unpleasant one with a dodgy stomach and chest infection. Hey ho.

Sorry for the delay in getting back here. It's just all go here with playing with ds and trying to find something he can eat this week 'n' stuff.

beesarethebest · 18/03/2016 18:04

We had chilli and nachos! All from the freezer/store cupboard. Hurray for you lot! Grin

CremeEggThief · 18/03/2016 18:19

Glad to hear you had a super holiday, Cag. You sound very refreshed!
Hi, ipsosSmile.
We just had Quorn chicken burgers and wedges, with a token bit of rocket, and oj for our Friday night dinner. Yum. Just need to quickly wash up and make a cuppa, and then I'm not moving off the sofa until bed time! Happy Friday everyone Smile.

£7 bus fare to work was my only spend today.

WreckTangled · 18/03/2016 19:16

Right I need a really cheap food shop tomorrow everyone! We've got breakfast stuff and lunch stuff will, as usual, be crackers/cheese/pitta/humous. Feeling so uninspired though.

Pizza
Roast chicken and bacon pasta salad
Chicken rice and peas
Pasta and sauce
Jackets and tuna
Shepherd pie (from the freezer)
Friday? Hmm

babsmam · 18/03/2016 20:14

Pages upon pages to catch up on! Delighted to report I rang both credit card companies today & reduced my limits by a total of €1000, one can't be touched again for six months but other can be reduced anytime. Delighted. Grin

babsmam · 18/03/2016 21:25

Cag I mean

Ememem84 · 18/03/2016 21:38

Superb day here. Got my pay review letter. 5% payrise and a 4 figure bonus. which I totally deserve because I work bloody hard wasn't expecting that. Standard this year was cost of living payrise (apparently at around 1.3%). So I've done well.

Sorted out transfers to my savings accounts on Monday when it all gets paid.

AuditAngel · 18/03/2016 21:46

Cagliostro · 18/03/2016 22:26

Just reading through the thread - nocuts I have a very important question for you - I'm desperate to know what anime DVDs you bought a few days back! I love anime :)

A lot of my pocket money has gone on anime lately. Although I will be getting a book on Amazon - we went to a lovely museum (pretty much had the place to ourselves, it was bliss :o) and in their little library I found a wonderful old book all about board games throughout history. Found a used copy really cheap so I'm getting it as board games are my other nerdy obsession! :o

AuditAngel · 18/03/2016 23:00

Hello all, not sure how long I have been AWOL.

Got my new car 3 weeks ago, have driven 1,100 miles in 3 weeks! It is 6 months old and had 7k miles on the clock. It will save me about £150 in tax a month, but I went £3k over my work budget to buy it. I put that on a 0% credit card, I'm aiming to clear this over the next year.

I received my tax code for next year, I need to call them to update my car details, to get the tax reduction ASAP.

I gave had a very spends day, £1.50 on parking to drop DS and DD1 off to catch a train to London for their show. I also spent £10 to top up DS's Oyster card. He has a STEM school trip on Tuesday and needs to use his card to get to London.

I bought our tickets to Spain in the summer £1,498 for the 5 of us. DS and DD1 are travelling out early with BIL the day after DS's birthday, then DD2 and I go, followed by DH. DS and I come back on 4/9, our lights (one way only) were almost £600! DH brings the girls back 2 days later for about £150 each.

I also booked the Eurotunnel for our May half term holiday £170.

Apart from that, a new printer £170 last week.

I had a nice surprise this week. I made a claim about mis-sold credit card protection policies, I received £400 back.

I still need to pay the balance on the Centerparcs holiday, about £400.

DD2 needs new school shoes, she has completely destroyed a pair since September.

It is DD1's birthday next week, she wants a "V" shaped scooter, going to try one tomorrow. She also needs new trainers as her feet went up a size and a half from September to December.

Nephew's birthday today, need to put money in a card for him.

The kids show has been keeping me madly busy, and work has been too.

Will need to keep up the frugal work as money is pouring away right now.
