Sorry to hear the bad news around.

The dc did a Fathers day breakfast for dh this morning which was good, don't need to eat until tea time now Smile
Jobs in the garden to do this afternoon: weeding, cutting the hedge, mowing the lawn and scrubbing the patio so no spending and the garden will look much better at the end of it. The dc are currently moaning that weeding is too boring!!
Lasagne, garlic bread and salad for tea
Chicken and bacon pasta tomorrow
Not sure yet for the rest of the week

babsmam · 21/06/2015 13:09

Taken the kids out somewhere so dh can get some sleep. £12 on not the nicest picnic lunch boxes and a cheese scone.

CremeEggThief · 21/06/2015 14:44

Sorry to hear that, Collie. Thinking of you.

NSD.

£146 on Philips IPL ??

Did get 50% off tho and Greece will thank my DH for his hair-free back! ????

Evilwater · 21/06/2015 15:18

Sorry to not replay back sooner,
Im already on water meter, as for Aldi and lidel they Are very small and 7-10 miles away.

I've had a very cheap night in, :)
Does anyone know what a second job will do for my tax credits?
I have a choice of dominos driver, or agency with my work.

I spent £47 on this weeks shopping! :)
And £26 on my Father's Day gift, instead of £40 :)

And I have a extra shift tomorrow at work, with lunch being leftovers of today. :)

needastrongone · 21/06/2015 15:22

Found you, I am so flipping daft I thought you were all busy this weekend and not posting!!

collie I am sorry to hear your news.

Feeling very tired today after a late night last night, but such a lovely night too. I am struggling to do the things I have planned to do today. More of the food than I imagined was eaten and certainly more wine and beer drunk.

I've scraped together £20 in change for the cleaner tomorrow without breaking into my £50 that's left, but we needed gas for the BBQ (will last a year, big bottle, 3 years probably with the weather we are having at the minute....), DH bought but hasn't told me how much it was yet.

Ordered some bits in the sale from Massimo Dutti, but we have allocated some dividend for clothes, and I don't know if I will keep anything yet.

Another school trip has come up that DD wants to do, for GCSE drama, another £200 to find but not immediately.

What's an IPL?

SpottyTeacakes · 21/06/2015 15:35

Sorry to hear all the sad news Thanks

We stayed in today I bought some nice bread for lunch.

Dinner will be kebabs (skewers) and med rice

girliefriend · 21/06/2015 15:51

Sorry to hear that people have had bad news Flowers

I have been working today, its not been too bad really. Popped into pets at home as needed cat biscuits got 2 bags for £16, hopefully will last a while. Spent £3.70 on parking which can claim back.

My mum is cooking a roast dinner later Smile

Anyone been to see Jurassic World? Wondering if it will be too scary for me dd? Wink

Peppapissinpig · 21/06/2015 16:27

Need, an IPL is a hair removal system that (i believe) uses infra red light and pretty much zaps the hair permanently

Pointlessfan · 21/06/2015 17:40

Sorry to hear all the bad news but pleased you now have food ipsos. I might be the most absent minded frugaleer of the weekend as I drove into town to return a dress but realised as soon as I got there that I'd left the dress at home Blush luckily realised before I paid to park. I went back for it so I'm now £45 better off apart from the wasted petrol.
I am making 2 different lots of toad in the hole for dinner, one veggie & one meat. Saw an idea in a magazine to top it with stilton so trying that, I love stilton!
We also had a Father's day breakfast of French toast with bananas and nutella so had a very light lunch and we're all hungry now.

needastrongone · 21/06/2015 17:59

Veggie toad in the hole sounds good, I am going to now Google, pointless.

I am being lazy and sat down chilling. I am usually on the go until 8/9pm but shattered today.

Have a super holiday Laska

needastrongone · 21/06/2015 18:04

Thanks peppa Smile

Peppapissinpig · 21/06/2015 18:04

Just discovered frugaleers after years of frugaling solo! Had a good read through the first link from 2012 and pleased to see that I've already been doing things right. Food bill went down 40% when I switched from Tesco / Sainsbury to Aldi.
Never had Sky, been camping all round the UK on lots of cheapie hols. Day trips using Tesco Clubcard Days Out vouchers with homemade picnic. Clothes from M and S or supermarkets, face cream etc from Aldi. Friends round for dinner or drinks instead of eating out or going to the pub.

DH reviews bills every year and keeps a spreadsheet for all spending (I'll stop being irritated when he asks what £x at Sports Direct was for etc!). Now got a full time job and walk to work where possible for fitness and to save on petrol!

So what am I missing? Couldn't afford a cleaner but would love to be able to!

sportinguista · 21/06/2015 18:38

Flowers for all those with bad news. So far NSD as DH went shopping for milk, and returned with lots of treats for himself. Planning lots of meals around stuff we already have this week and gearing up for a busy week work wise.

Like the quorn recipe pointless I have a slow cooker but haven't actually used it yet so will give it a go.

DH is on course last week June and first week July so I figure we'll save lots on food over those weeks as I reckon I won't be bothered to cook for just DS and me as he has school dinners and I can get by on pesto and pastaGrin.

Going to try and start running as well while he's away as been meaning to for weeksBlush

babsmam · 21/06/2015 18:55

Spent a further £2.20 on ice creams today.

I'm pondering going to now TV with Amazon prime and phone and broad band through bt/sky et al. Just wondering if it's worth it. We have Virgin at the mo. There is an old but point in the house but we don't have a roof Arian so wonder if it would work out cheaper. Hmmm

NK5BM3 · 21/06/2015 18:57

Sorry to hear that collie. Will you get to see him soon?

Paid £16 for chess tournament, £52 for m&s online for school uniforms (saved £8). Father's Day lunch £43. Eyebrows threading £9.

This week will be the incredibly stressful week that I've been building up to for the last 6 months. Wish me luck at work!!! Confused

AdoraBell · 21/06/2015 19:05

Thanks for the new thread Unescorted

NSD today, had anniversary dinner out last night and Father's day is always a roast dinner at home here.

I really will try to keep up now, most stressful part of moving process seems to be sorted.

Sounds like DH and me Ipsos????

Twowrongsdontmakearight · 21/06/2015 19:58

Hi Ipsos.
When we switched a couple of years ago Aldi was much cheaper than Sainsbury. Plus no nice treats to tempt you. Nowadays Tesco and Sainsbury prices have come down so the savings are less.
