missa glad to read such positivity in your posts & your biggest worries of catheter & periods not even an issue!

RobinEllacott · 25/11/2014 07:15

MissA, really glad you're eating again. Hope it's going well.

Yesterday £10 on lunch and snacks - I left home at silly o'clock in the morning and didn't get home till quarter to ten at night. Work is killing me at the moment, and it's really hard to be frugal when I'm doing such long hours. Hoping for NSD today as I've got a meeting where I get given lunch.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 25/11/2014 07:45

lilac robin
Thanks Grin I have become a lot less prim about these things, the nurses are so fantastic and genuinely not fazed by poo, sick, wee, blood - they are heroes!
I am feeling a lot better although I'm still getting discomfort / pain after eating it isn't on the same level as the pain I was getting before and the dr says he is sure it is just everything settling after the op. Hopefully it won't continue for long.
I might get home tomorrow, with any luck, I'm quite keen to get home now as I'm getting a bit frustrated by being woken up for blood pressure checks twice a night and not having any privacy.

You're definitely getting better if things are starting to annoy you!

I'm on holidays for rest of week settling in au pair who is lovely! Covering an extra Unislim class too so that'll be a boost moneywise too, going to put it towards property tax because want to clear that by year end to avoid fines.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/11/2014 10:31

I'm struggling, I've seen a pair of All-Stars in my size for £19.

I have a lot of non-negotiable bills due so I can't afford them or I will struggle in Jan.

Ooh that helped. I feel better about it now. A bit.

MissA irritation is definitely a good sign. It's apathy you have to watch for. They often leave feeding lines etc in because its less traumatic than needing another one because the patient got better but then deteriorated.

sportinguista · 25/11/2014 12:54

NSD today as I am just doing loads of cleaning and tidying. Hopefully a LSD tomorrow as there is only milk I can thing of to buy.

Its annoying isnt it Fluffy the bargains always come when you're skint, never when you've got the cash!

Looking forward to black friday as we've got some stuff wishlisted on amazon that hopefully might come up!

SpottyTeacakes · 25/11/2014 13:15

Nsd.

Glad you're on the mend MissA!

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/11/2014 13:44

I've listed some beaten up shoes on eBay, try and sell them rather than throw them away.

There's a market for these things. Every little helps.

NSD.

girliefriend · 25/11/2014 15:56

£40 on petrol
£13 on tickets to see a panto next week for me and dd
£2 in Tescos on milk and sweets other essentials.

Quite spendy really Sad and tomos will be the weekly shop so spendy again.

Yay MissA you are most definitely on the mend by the sounds of it, you are my hero!!

NK5BM3 · 25/11/2014 18:43

Well done MissA! Hope you get to get out soon.

£36 for cleaner and that's it. Now I find out my in laws are arriving next weekend for a short visit. wtf seriously?! Now I have to get Christmas presents for mil, fil, nephew who I never get to see (long back story with bil and his horrible wife)?!! Argh.

I'm thinking, fil - whiskey (already had one), mil, something from m&s? And a toy for the kid. I'm panicking about the food too!

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/11/2014 18:51

I'd just do normal food. It's not a royal visit. Check the Christmas thread, I think debenhams are doing half price nightwear etc today.

Sixforgold · 25/11/2014 19:06

£28 weekly shop yesterday (top ups anticipated - there were no bananas)

Just got my tesco finest meats vouchers - what to buy?!?

I'm £100 up on last month and last month ended with half term whereas this weekend is just mooching around at home. Really hoping to hit December with a healthy bank balance!

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 25/11/2014 19:08

Thanks all Flowers I don't know why people call MN a nest of vipers you're all delightful! Grin

NK if my MIL was coming I'd be stocking up on poison.

Eating is going well - just had a rather delicious ham sandwich and yoghurt for tea, may be allowed an oat flip (biscuit) and tea later if nurse is in a good mood.
My scar is fucking horrendous, I am not happy at all - the surgeon must have had his eyes shut! When the bandages came off the nurse gave a little gasp and then said really quickly "dontworryitwillgodown" all as one word. Hah. It's a small price to pay for being able to eat without pain, I suppose but still! I'm hoping to ask surgeon about it before I go home... TOMORROW!
Grin can't wait! Just need to find out what time so I can either get DH or a friend to give me a lift or get a cab, I don't want to sit here until 7.30pm if I can go earlier (DH gets off at 6ish and its at least an hours drive).

Spent £29 at aldi and £3.75 on some lunch. Really need to sorry my lunches out and stop buying food at work.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/11/2014 21:51

Oh yes, some of them are blatant. I'll get emails saying "can you provide photos of you putting them on with a tan stocking?" Err, no. No I can't.

NK, crabtree and evelyn are doing 40% off.

Passthecake30 · 25/11/2014 22:11

Hmmm I have a pair of smelly slippers. ...will they sell? Grin

Travel and parking as usual, £1.60 on posh precut fruit that had been marked down.

Pay day tomorrow wooooo hoooo

AdoraBell · 25/11/2014 22:14

MissA great To see that you are doing so Well.

Yesterday I Spent £40 and Today another £20 in súpermarkets, plus £10 in the farmacia but 7 of that is coming off DD1's pocket money.

I have a -should I risk it? - food question too, shepherds pie made with beef. Cooked late Sunday and taken To school yesterday, only 13C all day, brought home again untouched and in the fridge over night. Covered with clingfilm the whole time. Do I reheat it for dinner tonight?

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/11/2014 22:26

Try it. 13c is probably not enough for bacteria to proliferate and it was cooked.

AdoraBell · 25/11/2014 22:39

Thanks Fluffy, that's 2 votes for eating it so it's going in the ovenXmas Grin

chocolatedonut · 26/11/2014 00:55

Hello everyone not posted in so long feel like I'm never going to catch up with all your posts now Confused

This month has been quite bad. I started off with great intentions and now I have no money left and barely anything saved.

Payday on Thursday so I will definitely need to get my budget sorted.

Not bought a single Christmas present either Sad

Feel like a massive failure. Weekly shop was delivered yesterday and I missed so many things but managed to spend so much. Sad

Sixforgold · 26/11/2014 06:51

chocolat don't worry...you just need a plan.

Christmas presents - lots of sales starting on Friday. Who do you need to buy for? Can you give any 'time' gifts (ie for my birthday this year my friend invited me over for home-cooked Chinese food as she'd been on a cookery course - best present ever!). Or home-made stuff (I'm currently knitting dd a hot water bottle cover!o

Food shop - what have you got, what did you forget? Can you eke it out to 2 weeks with a few cheap additions (beans on toast, omelette, freezer food etc)

Really hope you feel better about it all this-morning xxx

annielostit · 26/11/2014 07:00

In answer to this - food should be stored at less than 5 c.
If it is not refrigerated it should be eaten within 4 hours or binned.
Bacteria has a lovely way of sleeping in the food its cold, take it out and it doubles every 20 minutes. You might of eaten it this time but not get away with it next time. Sorry to be boring.

annielostit · 26/11/2014 07:02
  • I wouldn't eat it and defo not the kiddies.x
RobinEllacott · 26/11/2014 07:10
