Would this influence anyone from getting the next booster?

I haemorrhaged for two days after getting the booster. My gynaecologist said it’s a common complication with the vaccine. I’ve absolutely no intention of getting another.

A ' common complication'. As in loads of people get this? Seriously have I missed something.

has your gynaecologist published his findings?

would you have any other vaccines?

sunglassesonthetable · 20/09/2022 20:12

Honestly Anti vaxites post some s*te don't they?

ChilliBandit · 20/09/2022 20:26

By haemorrhaged do you mean had a period? Changes to the menstrual cycle after the covid vaccine were well documented and studies showed cycles went back to normal after the cycle in which the vaccine was given. Many vaccines cause short term menstrual changes. As does something as common as stress or dietary changes.

From across the pond too Hmm

@foliageeverywhere , are you referring to me or someone else?

No from the OP's latest update!

"....science can move real slow"

I think a couple of people have pointed out now that these "anti-vax" threads seem to appear in the middle of the night, and it made me notice the americanism

loulouljh · 20/09/2022 21:00

I would not have any covid jab if you paid me a million pounds!!!

ChilliBandit · 20/09/2022 21:18

Don’t worry @loulouljh , no one is offering.

Stamford is not easily recognisable, I had to google it 😂.

It's a pretty posh commuter town for NYC, on Long Island sound, and has some very nice beaches. The UConn branch isn't much to get excited about and does no medical research that I'm aware of. 😂

Yes, a fair few of the guys I worked with in NYC commuted in from there. It’s a strange town for the previous poster to have picked.

orbitalcrisis · 20/09/2022 21:48

@loulouljh Which nobody will do, so you're going to have it then. Thank fuck for that!

orbitalcrisis · 20/09/2022 21:51

@MissConductUS I thought Stamford was in Connecticut or is it like Kansas City? There's loads of them!

I do enjoy these threads. The speculation is highly amusing.

I do enjoy these threads. The speculation is highly amusing.

This seems like an odd response from someone genuinely concerned about whether or not they should have a booster vaccine.

foliageeverywhere · 20/09/2022 22:07

sassandfaff · 20/09/2022 21:59

And terrible disabilities caused by prenatal exposure to sodium valporate is highly amusing?

This is the gross thing about "anti-vaxxer" groups - they have this weird sense of glee rather than being genuinely concerned.

sunglassesonthetable · 20/09/2022 22:09

I do enjoy these threads. The speculation is highly amusing.

Since 56 billion doses have been administered and the numbers continue to bolster the vaccine argument I suppose an anti vaxite needs a bit of amusement.

sassandfaff · 20/09/2022 22:10

I find being told you lack critical skills, you're an anti vaxxer, you don't understand research and lots of other condescending remarks quite an odd response to someone asking if the booster is a good idea. But here we are...

Haemorrhage sounds dramatic. But my toddler skint his knee in the park at the weekend and haemorrhaged too.

I’m not sure why one would be consulting their gynaecologist about this two day bleeding after a jag event though.

@foliage. Someone tried to argue that we have moved on from the 1950s. That article suggests we haven't.
Hence why I posted it.

But that’s not what you were doing. You were posting a link to a dubious website. So the responses of not understanding the research are all totally and directly relevant.

sunglassesonthetable · 20/09/2022 22:16

I suppose it's the faux naive thing. And no discussion or response to comments.

Just

"look at this ! "
"look at this !"
"look at this!"

Bottom line - you don't come across as someone " just asking "

  1. Many, many things have undeniably changed since the 1950s. Important things to how medical science is practice.
  2. your proof that nothing has changed is an article about medical practice in the 1970s in a totally unrelated area.
  3. it’s also just a link. No argument. No explanation. And no actual relevance.

But arguing with weird conspiracy theorists is like trying to catch smoke. And as good for your health as that.

sunglassesonthetable · 20/09/2022 22:20

You actually come across like it's a bit of a game for you.

sassandfaff · 20/09/2022 22:21

They're all going to be dubious websites...don't you get that?
It doesn't matter what website, what doctor, what study; as soon as it says anything against vaccines it becomes 'dubious' 'antivax' etc etc.

A year ago the JCVI was the go to authority on whether children should have the jab. Now they are discredited and dismissed; even within this thread.

There will never be a good website or doctor. They are ridiculed as not the 'right' doctor or biased.
