Would this influence anyone from getting the next booster?

Anti Vaxxer here I’m afraid, haven’t had one and never will. Never had covid, and the LFT doesn’t test for covid and it’s all a hoax.

I said it would go away and it is slowly disappearing from the news. Someone somewhere has made a lot of money from this and it isn’t the taxpayer.

And before I get berated by those who lost loved ones I am sorry but how do you know it was covid and not the flu, another respiratory disease that kills thousands each year.

A FOI was put in and the deaths of people under 65 over 18 months were in the hundreds! 😮 more men under 45 commit suicide I think it’s nearly 10,000

Take a look at the facts of covid was such a problem how come the poor countries in Asia and Africa haven’t had millions of deaths as they had no vaccine

anyway just my two pennies worth

That insulting shite isn't even worth 2p

I fucking know what kileld him.

Don't have children.

It's over a quarter million deaths in the under-65 cohort in the US.

Number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) deaths in the U.S. as of September 7, 2022, by age

What source told you it was in the hundreds?

ChilliBandit · 22/09/2022 17:57

Just over 10,000 people total (men and women) took their own lives in 2020 and 2021 combined. Just to add to the debunking of this bullshit.

sunglassesonthetable · 22/09/2022 18:01

Can't even. 👌😁

Nothing to do with 56 billion doses of vaccine or because you said it would?

You can download the ONS data. From what I can see, it's 1,557 deaths for under 65s with no pre-existing conditions over the course of 2020 (obviously this is based on contested definitions, but taken at face value, that's the figure).

Awful for anyone affected. But also quite a tiny number compared to deaths from other causes (and arguably especially in the face of the excess deaths - perhaps quite a lot due to lockdown measures) we're still seeing now.

Too late. Had mine Tuesday. Had the flu one too. Felt a bit crap and tired yesterday. Feeling fabulous today. I love vaccines and consider myself lucky to have had mine.

So if someone with mild, well-controlled primary hypertension dies from covid, we should not count them from dying from covid? Did the pandemic end in 2020? Other than artificially deflating the mortality numbers, why exclude the last 21 months?

sunglassesonthetable · 22/09/2022 18:54

It's funny how this feels such a dull debate now.

I realise it's not over till it's over with Covid. But with such wide take up of vaccine in the countries lucky enough to have it, we are sort of tip toeing out but still looking over our shoulders not quite certain of the ending.

Some people are still struggling with Long Covid, others with reduced immunity are still anxious and the NHS is still reeling.

But the anti vaxites on here just sound, well, like a cliché of themselves. 18 months ago this thread would have been a massive pile on but now it's sort of " Yes, whatever, what's the problem? "

In years to come will the anti Covid crew just be a small squeaking bunch claiming it never happened and people just died of seasonal flu And some one was just trying to make money out of vaccines?

Er, did 2020 because it's given in chunks (separate Excel files), and I don't have time to do it all, and 2020 was presumably when most of the deaths happened?

Given that the definitions are contested, I went for a conservative estimate - not saying that's the only way.

Why so aggressive/sarcastic?!

SaltLampMani · 22/09/2022 19:04

@MissConductUS I'm sure you can find this with a quick Google, but here's the link: www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/datasets/preexistingconditionsofpeoplewhodiedduetocovid19englandandwales

Because it's just ridiculous at this point to think you've suddenly seen something that hundreds of experts have missed.

"No underlying condition" means just that - the full list has been copied onto MN threads before - but it includes things like hypertension, migraine, depressive disorder, eczema.

Genuinely struggling to think of someone in my life who has nothing diagnosed and would thus be in that category.

SaltLampMani · 22/09/2022 19:10

@foliageeverywhere I give up. As I've stated, I am vaxxed, and have nothing against vaccines per se. I'm interested in how data have been presented in a biased way, and was commenting on the figure ("in the hundreds") quoted by a previous poster, because I was interested enough to look it up. I've tried before, and always find the alleged "anti-vaxxers" far more amenable to friendly discussion than the aggressively "pro" side of the majority of Mumsnet. Not really sure why I still dip in occasionally

SaltLampMani · 22/09/2022 19:12

PS there's quite a lot of debate in those "hundreds of experts" (make that many thousands). Again, we tend to hear a false notion of "consensus", when actually there are plenty of informed people still looking at these data from different perspectives.

So ignoring the point that only a tiny fraction of the general population would fall into the category of "no underlying conditions"?

There is a screenshot I took from ons website back in 2021. All the data is there in open. The problem is with no early treatment advice still there after almost 3 years of covid

Has anyone seen the 1,000 peer reviewed medical papers about vaccine injuries.
foliageeverywhere · 24/09/2022 09:36

no early treatment advice

What "early treatment advice" are you suggesting should be there? @Hiheyho

Hiheyho · 24/09/2022 10:40

ive had covid 3 times and on each occasion was taking vit C D, zinc, quertecin in recommended doses

Reallyreallyborednow · 24/09/2022 10:46

had covid 3 times and on each occasion was taking vit C D, zinc, quertecin in recommended doses

that isn’t really “early treatment advice” for Covid or anything else.

it’s taking some harmless supplements which may help, even if it’s just placebo.

Hiheyho · 24/09/2022 10:40

Great - but as there's no good quality evidence any of these things reduce COVID severity, the government aren't going to recommend them.

Telling people to take things (and pay for them) when in all likelihood they're not beneficial doesn't constitute good public health advice @Hiheyho

But that’s not what you were doing. You were posting a link to a dubious website. So the responses of not understanding the research are all totally and directly relevant.

This! You lack even the critical thinking skills to comprehend why people are criticising you!

Sonnex · 24/09/2022 11:36

They do, or at least did, actually recommend vitamin D. My DP was on the shielding list and they sent him a form to fill out to get vitamin D, twice.

Hiheyho · 24/09/2022 12:52

Many professional doctors disagree use this and are successfully treating covid at early stages with these supplements like any other respiratory decease. You cannot deny the importance of ie vit D and many people in northern hemisphere are packing it. How many people you know have a regular let’s say annual full blood test to see their Vit D or iron levels?
