Sorry if this has already been done, but are we expecting any sort of update from Boris ?
I don’t watch the news anymore so I’m not up to date.

@Northsoutheastwest76

Sorry data as of 29th December.
Hospitalisations are increasing not going down.
CallmeHendricks · 02/01/2022 10:27

@Waxonwaxoff0, I'm not quite sure of the relevance of you telling us you're 'young' and have never needed emergency hospital care. So far.

Your point?

It was in response to posters who always say "what if you need to go to hospital?"

I think @Waxonwaxoff0 was essentially saying 'I'm alright Jack...' 🙄

Her point was basically 'It doesn't matter if the NHS collapses. I'm young and healthy and don't need it anyway. And I wanna go clubbing.'

Waxonwaxoff0 · 02/01/2022 10:42

@Gemster19 no. It was for posters who always come out with "what if you need to go to hospital?" Odds of me needing to go to hospital over the next couple of months are pretty much non existent.

Sorry, but you have chosen to have a baby during a pandemic. Surely you were aware of the possible risks of that.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 02/01/2022 10:44

@Motorina

If the NHS collapses it's the fault of the government for massively underfunding it all these years. Not the fault of people going clubbing.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 02/01/2022 10:45

Also I don't really go clubbing being a single parent and all, but if others want to, good for them.

Appuskidu · 02/01/2022 10:47

Young people still have accidents.

Monkeytennis97 · 02/01/2022 10:49

I'm a teacher. I signed up for DfE emails. Have just had one from them updating the list of vulnerable/critical workers in case of contingency framework being introduced.

I know, the odds are still vanishingly small though.
Marmelace · 02/01/2022 10:54

@milly74

No I will NOT comply! We cannot keep imposing restrictions to prop up an NHS which fails EVERY WINTER Enough We will not comply!
I think COMPLY would look better capitalised too.

Exactly what I said then - because you think you're unlikely to need to go to hospital it doesn't matter that the system is being overwhelmed.

Thanks ever so much for clarifying that I should not be having a baby so that @milly74 doesn't have to wear a mask when she goes to the supermarket but don't start your comment with 'Sorry' when you're clearly not.

Exactly
Off to the supermarket and I won't be wearing a mask.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 02/01/2022 11:04

@Gemster19 I'm not saying you shouldn't have a baby. Do what you want, it's your life. I'm saying that surely you know by now that there are risks involved with that when there's a pandemic going on. Some people don't wear masks no matter what anyone says (I do wear a mask by the way), surely you're aware of that. It's not going to change.

Masks I have no problem with, it's when people start advocating for closures of businesses that I have a problem with. That is somebody's livelihood.

MarshaBradyo · 02/01/2022 11:08

I agree. Easy to say close sectors if they are not used by someone.

I don’t go either but I want younger age groups to stop being hit by closure first.

Has the list changed much? I imagine they’ll need to make it smaller otherwise any school closure would be pointless.

@Stormsy

Yet we don't get vaccinated for colds Hmm
Because a vaccine doesn't exist, unfortunately. Scientists have been working on one for many years.
Florianus · 02/01/2022 13:37

@Gechik

A review on Wednesday was mentioned on the BBC News
I think that's a review of regulations in Scotland.
JanglyBeads · 02/01/2022 13:41

The newly issued vulnerable kids list widens the definition if anything - altho isn't comprehensive and has always been open to interpretation by schools - includes those from homes affected by alcohol abuse etc.

Measures introduced mid December were always to be reviewed this Wednesday

This means absolutely nothing. I have many friends and family in the civil service, including high up in HMRC and not one has been told there will be any restrictions. Do you not think the people who would be sorting out any furlough etc would be told first?
MumbleCrumbs · 02/01/2022 13:49

Kuwait are literally advising their citizens to leave the UK because the situation is so screwed up here. I cannot believe this is all being allowed to happen with barely a word from Johnson. It's a fucking disgrace.

What's a disgrace is people still bellowing for a lockdown because they have very few brain cells and an inability to grasp the most basic understanding of the implications of restrictions. Have a look around, countries are moving towards scrapping restrictions and scrapping isolation, why do you think that is? Time to ride this out
MumbleCrumbs · 02/01/2022 13:53

I don't remember bellowing for a lockdown. Language like that is so embarrassing.
