To not want ANOTHER booster?

So I've had a pretty terrible reaction to the booster (MODERNA). Up all night throwing up, couldn't move, passed out twice, thought I was dying kinda thing.

AIBU to not want any more boosters?

I had an awful reaction to Moderna as a booster (duly reported to the yellow card thingy) and I've decided there's no fucking way I'm having that vaccine again.

I'll only participate in future booster programmes which I think will be inevitable for at least another 12 months if I can opt to a different manufacturer.

I'd have another booster if it increased my immunity to Covid / Omicron / variants. I'll have as many boosters as I'm offered.

i reacted badly to the initial astra zenica jab not so bad the second one, 3rd one booster moderna and apart from a sore arm for a day so far no reaction but im not going for a jab every three months maybe yearly one but fed up of been stabbed

Have you had the Moderna before?

While the sdie effects are unpleasant, vaccines are important in training your immune system to fight covid. The more boosters you have, the better trained your immune system is to recognise various strains of covid. Getting covid itself will be worse then any side effects.

I was totally fine but was I’ll after my Az initial booster. DH had been I’ll for over a week. Fever, tonsillitis type throat pain, lesions on the soles of his feet ??, a uti. All appeared within 24 hours of the booster.

Please make sure you report your side affects to VAERS.
I think we should choose what we put into our bodies- as we do with so many things. So YANBU if you decide not to have more vaccines.

Nope not had Moderna before - could that be why my side effects were so bad?

I had covid twice and it wasn't that bad, the after effects of the jab were much worst even though I had covid first! So for me, I won't be having anymore jabs.

I’ll take the short term, manageable effects of a vaccination over the uncertainty of Covid any time.

I'm in the US, but when I scheduled my booster they told me it had to be the same manufacturer as my original vaccinations.

I had pfizer for my original jabs and moderna for the booster - it's definitely hit me harder than pfizer did, anecdotally a lot of people seem to be saying the same about Moderna specifically.

If you passed out twice (as opposed to feeling dizzy/ like you may pass out) you should seek medical advice, as well as making a yellow card report.

Yeah I'm beginning to doubt the wisdom of getting the booster which has made me feel like I'm going to be sick during the night and wiped me out today, versus the apparently mild effects of Omicron. I've had it of course - go me doing my bit for society and the stats - but I wonder how often we'll need to keep on repeating this.

I'd have said the same until this booster. Ended up in hospital via 111 to investigate whether the excruciating pain I was experiencing was problematic as it's flagged as a serious side effect. Thankfully was only excruciating pain that painkillers wouldn't touch and lasted just 3 days, but I'd honestly rather take my chance with covid than go through that again.

I genuinely have no comparable pain experiences despite being a woman who's given birth, broken limbs and had gallstones.

I'm pro vaccine, but whatever that particular vaccine did to my body was not good.

YANBU, I was all set out to walk out of my booster appt if they didn't offer me Pfizer. My first 2 were Pfizers and I didn't want to take the chance of a different one.

There were plenty of walk ins waiting for a booster so my slot wouldn't have been wasted.

I was very unwell after my first AZ, but fine after my second.

My booster was Pfizer and honestly I felt seriously unwell, had to take time off work which really annoyed me as I'm very busy and couldn't get out of bed for 3 days.

Incidentally, I had covid before vaccines were even a thing and was fine! Sore throat, very tired but still managed to work.

So I said that I wouldn't have any more boosters after this as I'm not willing to purposefully make myself poorly. But the truth is, I probably would have another one if it was a yearly thing. I WONT have one every few months though as I cant keep taking time off work!

I had Pfizer for the original 2 but the Moderna booster really hit me hard I was throwing up and very dizzy for 48 hours
