I'm DONE with Covid, omicron and want to get on with my life - is anyone else with me?

coatilove · 16/12/2021 20:47

Honestly at this point I'm done with it, I'm surprised people are complying so much with mask wearing and everything else - I thought the vaccine was freedom. Turns out I was wrong.

I've had enough - I'm not wearing my mask indoors and hope if there's a lockdown every business keeps its doors open and boycotts the decision.

I'm really surprised people are being so compliant, even if they have natural immunity and have been jagged (I have now had Covid and both jabs)

I can't be selfless anymore and keep getting boosters to protect others and stopping life, constant anxiety, life I feel should be going on now. Enough sacrifices have been made.

Aware I'll get flamed, but at the end of my tether with all of this now.

There are plenty of diseases that kill people, we have to accept the death rate now enough is enough.

If you've been vaccinated then what else do you intend to do? If you haven't then more fool you.

When you're going through hell, keep going.

fitsandgiggles · 16/12/2021 21:08

I'm the same, not wearing a mask anymore, not letting it stop me do things,
I will NOT do another lockdown I will
Continue to see my family and friends!

Mojoj · 16/12/2021 21:08

Yip. Fuck this shit. I've had Covid and been jabbed. I do my best to eat well and take regular exercise with the aim of supporting my immune system. I'm not supporting any further restrictions on my day to day life. People are dying of a whole range of illnesses, not just bloody Covid. It was always ludicrous to think we can "control" a virus. No political party is brave enough to admit that mask wearing is only to appease the anxious and make it look like they're doing something. And restrictions/lockdowns only delay the inevitable. Time to get on with the business of living.

multivac · 16/12/2021 21:08

@Jobchangeadvice

Honestly, I agree.

Surely its better to let omicron spread when vulnerable people have had time for their boosters to work?

How long it this suppossed to last?

Are we suppossed to have boosters every 3 months?

Will we need vaccien passports for the rest of our lives?

When will it end? If 3 vaccines can't end it, then what can?

Omg you are going to FREAK when you find out how we vaccinate against flu....
CovidMakesThingsHarder · 16/12/2021 21:08

@coatilove you body is shit, it wants you to give it oxygen every minute, fluids every 3 days and food every 3 months. To keep alive, it’s a conspiracy I say. Just tell it you’ve had enough and you’ll be fine.

DrWhoNowww · 16/12/2021 21:10
@TulipsGarden do they? With variants emerging all the time? What happens if a much more deadly variant emerges?
Yes, of course pandemics end.

You don’t still get Spanish flu do you? Swine flu? Bird flu? Those are no longer pandemics.

The aim is to have a functioning society at the end of it all surely? One where we have prioritised those who need prioritising - like the vulnerable, the elderly etc.

Not a society where everyone said fuck it, people will just have to die because I’m bored of it now Hmm

CovidMakesThingsHarder · 16/12/2021 21:11

Oh, and why are the death rates up for cancer etc?
Because doctors and nurses are on their fucking knees treating covid patients and hospitals full of elderly “well” patients who can’t go to nursing homes or home as there are no carers.
Patient coming in dying of lack of oxygen from covid needs seeing. Person with cancer “well” at home always out back. Then a car accident comes in but there’s no ambulances. This is what people need it see. Doctors aren’t bloody choosing not to see people, it’s fucking battle triage. And you’ll soon complain when your child’s ambulance CD-ROM falling off their bike doesn’t arrive, or it’s a 8 N’s wait and there’s no overnight operating as the surgeons are now on medical wards or off sick themselves. How do you go and get your nails done when the salon is closed as the owner has long covid and all the staff have covid?

It is utterly shit, but wishing it away does not help.

Jobchangeadvice · 16/12/2021 21:11

Well its not by vaccinating the whole population every three months and multiple lockdowns is it? Hmm

Additionally I have never had the flu or a flu vaccine....or been asked to have a flu vaccine.

Next time you have surgery tell the surgeon and operating theatre staff that they don’t need to wear their masks as it’s only to appease the anxiousl. HTH.
Disfordarkchocolate · 16/12/2021 21:12

Sounds great.

Now fill me on how we actually do that while many people who work in hospitals, shops, as drivers, postman, shop workers, refuse collectors, key workers in utility services and childcare are too ill to work?

DismantledKing · 16/12/2021 21:13

Now you’ve had your little tantrum and stamped your feet really hard, has Covid gone away?

DariaMorgendorffer · 16/12/2021 21:13
Xmas Biscuit
pollygartertidywife · 16/12/2021 21:13

On the basis that there is no point in arguing with the terminally daft. I shall say no more except you don't cure a viral pandemic by throwing a tantrum.

user1471453601 · 16/12/2021 21:13

The question not are you done with covid, the question is , is covid done with you?

keepOutOfTheFridgeDerek · 16/12/2021 21:13

I agree with you. But you'll get lots of hateful replies here from people who believe any kind of shit as long as it's on the news or from the government. But on here if you argue against the narrative, you'll be labelled a conspiracy theorist. Although really a 'conspiracy theorist' is actually just someone who questions shit they've been told. IMO the stupid ones are those who just accept what they are told, do what they are told and never questioned the insanity of this situation.

VictoryLap · 16/12/2021 21:14

I'm sure you would also be complaining if your parent had a heart attack and there were no ambulances able to attend or you were turned away from the hospital. It's these types of unnecessary deaths that the government are trying to avoid.

ANEC · 16/12/2021 21:14

I suppose I should have worded it as we don’t get the daily figures and scare mongering by the papers.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 16/12/2021 21:14

Vaccines are how we get out of this

So we were told but how many are we supposed to have? I've had my first 2 and the booster but I don't intend to have one every 3 or 6 months. As far as I'm concerned this weeks booster is it for me, I can't keep doing it.

2boysand1princess · 16/12/2021 21:14
@xxxGirlCrushxxx in my supermarkets and fuel stations everyone is wearing them. Complying. They don't even hardly work how people wear them it's just getting silly. I appreciate in enclosed spaces of course but in a supermarket where people are far apart anyway it's just getting frustrating
Do you have a problem with others wearing masks? It’s sounds like you do. Why does it bother you when others choose to wear masks?

Theredjellybean · 16/12/2021 21:14

I'm with you op.
The isolating if you test positive will never stop.
We are going to be testing and isolating for what is for most a mild cold like viral Illness for years.
Yes people will die of covid, the same as they will die of flu, pneumonia, cancer etc.
Its the panic and hysteria I cannot tolerate anymore.
I'm complying with masks in shops, but my life is continuing. I'm abroad on holiday at moment, I'm going to the panto and having a nye party
I won't be doing lft randomly just because..
And I am nhs front line.. And I can say hospitals are overwhelmed with non covid patients. The patients who got sicker when only covid mattered, when their appointments where cancelled, surgeries postponed or they were too scared to seek help from. Their gp.
Why are these people not as important as covid?

ThePoetsWife · 16/12/2021 21:14

🙄 you can't argue with stupid

DaisyWaldron · 16/12/2021 21:15

I'm done with these stupid road safety laws. If I want to go to a party, drink a dozen cocktails and drive home, I'm just going to do it. I hope that pubs and restaurants will ignite any rules and just keep serving me. I can't carry on being selfless and staying sober or forking out for taxis just to protect other people. People die on the roads all the time, even with sober drivers. We have to accept the death rate. Enough is enough.

I'm also considering shitting in the street rather than go through all the hassle and stress of finding a public toilet, which is often so dingy and unsanitary that shitting in the street is probably less of a health risk!

I'm fed up of sacrificing my comfort, convenience and happiness to public health.

Genuine question. Why can’t you keep doing it? Fair enough if a jab means you are bed bound for 3 months each time. But if it’s an hour out your day and one day feeling sucky, why is that a hardship for you?
Thethingswedidanddidntdo · 16/12/2021 21:16

OP I find it offensive that you are complaining about all the 'sacrifices' you are making, and then saying you aren't going to continue. My DH is an ITU doctor. He and his colleagues (right across the NHS) are the ones making sacrifices. And you are directly making it harder for them. Poor you having to wear a mask occasionally. He wears them all day/night not to mention the rest of the PPE. Get over yourself.

Yeah, because you’re ‘asking questions’. You’re ‘doing your own research’. What a genius. What a loss to epidemiology. Hurray for Facebook virologists.
