Literally everyone posting about refusing the boosters now after he back and forth with restrictions and the government breaking the rules etc! I can't believe it!
Anyone else seeing the same thing?
I wonder if it is like this in other countries who have reintroduced restrictions etc.

This is not my view btw, I'm happy to take my booster but obviously very annoyed with new restrictions too. So hope my sons Nativity isn't cancelled :(

I think that the Government is made up of a bunch of self-serving arsewipes ... but I was so happy to get my booster as I want to protect myself and those around me

worriedatthemoment · 08/12/2021 22:40

Nope no one I know most are booked in for boosters
Not changing there mind due to having a few restrictions brought back and its really is only a few

ToastofLandon · 08/12/2021 22:40

@Iggly
It’s not about you. It’s about minimising the spread to those who are more likely to end up in hospital. Reduce that spread and you have less people in hospital.

but you can still transmit it, when after you’re vaccinated??

Fendidntdrake · 08/12/2021 22:42

Not a mention of it on my newsfeed.
I'm desperate for my booster personally, but in a different UK country and not allowed to book, even though it's five and a half months since my second jab.

PieMistee · 08/12/2021 22:42

Everyone I know is having their boosters because they are not linking dickhead Tories with stopping the pandemic. I really hope people do get them and save their anger for the ballot box.

worriedatthemoment · 08/12/2021 22:42

Also do people not get that its a new virus , evolving etc they can't guarantee anything as such , how could they know if the jab would last 5 years or 6 months its brand new

MarshaBradyo · 08/12/2021 22:43

It’s so strange

Three work for omicron like two do for delta - according to Whitty

I know this has been hideous rollercoaster and everyone is fed up but the booster is for the person getting it

How old are they? The ones refusing on principle

Northsoutheastwest76 · 08/12/2021 22:44

Nope only person going crazy is one of the 3 conspiracy theorists on my feed but that is no change there. Would hide if they weren't a very close relative.

Fendidntdrake · 08/12/2021 22:44

Yes but you are less likely to transmit it, which means fewer people catch it.

Diywizz · 08/12/2021 22:45

The audacity for them to expect us to still follow. We would be fools to continue doing anything they wish of us. What an absolute mess this government is - but how many will remember these antics at the polls.

worriedatthemoment · 08/12/2021 22:45

@Plopcorn its really only on mumsnet that I see this
Where I am lots still wear a mask anywAy and many businesses still offer a wfh option and have social distancing in place ( last couple places i temped at have anywAy ) my ds both have jobs and have to still wear a mask.

bumbleymummy · 08/12/2021 22:45

^and being double jabbed is ok protection until then.

So a vaccine passport makes sense.^

No, it doesn’t. If you want to keep the risk of a new, very transmissible variant from spreading (which is what they say they are trying to do) and you know that two doses of the vaccine (which is what most people have) isn’t as effective then you ask everyone to test. That seems pretty obvious. Why would you object to that?

Missrabbitt · 08/12/2021 22:46

The one thing the government have done right is let the scientists and NHS get on with making and distributing the vaccines. They handles everything else appallingly. I don’t see what good refusing a booster and having the immunity level in the UK drop (causing actual lockdowns) is going to achieve. Everyone was out there clapping the NHS and calling them heroes but now you’re just going to undo all their good work and leave them in the shit again?!

Dandelionsss · 08/12/2021 22:46

@BonnyBoy I'm in my 30s and had it yesterday a week after getting a text inviting me for it. They have brought the age range down to 30-39, with 18-29s being invited in January. I think it depends on where you live though; some areas are in a better position to offer it to people in their 30s whereas some areas haven't got through the 40s yet.

DirtyDancing · 08/12/2021 22:47

Vast majority of over 40s are booking, booked or booster.

Fake news.

Under 40s suspect there will be a lower take up

itspartytime · 08/12/2021 22:49

I've had two AZ and a Pf booster on Wednesday last week. Been sooo careful, but Got in a cab with a driver who had 'a stinking cold' on Friday night , lateral flow was faint positive on Tuesday, pcr done same day and positive result came through today.
I had a mask on in the cab and they did too . It's the only place Ive been where I have been nearer than 2m to another person. I won't be using a cab again in a hurry.

bumbleymummy · 08/12/2021 22:49

^It’s not about you. It’s about minimising the spread to those who are more likely to end up in hospital.
Reduce that spread and you have less people in hospital.^

Oh stop. For someone going on about ‘following the science’ you’re using arguments from way back at the start of the year when we thought that the vaccine would actually prevent infection/transmission. The vaccine is better at reducing risk for the individual. That vulnerable person will get far more benefit from their own vaccine than from other people’s.

saraclara · 08/12/2021 22:52

How stupid does someone like this have to be to cut off their nose to spite their face? Boris isn't going to know about this grand statement that they're making, and they just increase their chances of getting the damn thing and missing out on Christmas/New Year stuff.

Jeeze, it's depressing.

RockinHorseShit · 08/12/2021 22:53

Nope,

but I did have a recent cull of the likely culprits for this, as they're sucked well & truly into conspiracy nonsense, antivax etc. very sad as it included some very long time & pre pandemic, once very close friends, but I needed it for my M/H & high BP & with friends & family working in the frontline of covid science & care who are on their knees, I just can't look at it any more

Chickpea22 · 08/12/2021 22:53

I had to book my sons vaccine today and judging by the virtual queue I had to wait in plenty of people are booking vaccinations.

Lunaduckdrop · 08/12/2021 22:53

Everyone I know is keen to get their booster. If you've had two vaccines already, I don't understand the rationale for refusing the booster. It simply doesn't make sense. The new "restrictions" aren't anywhere near a lockdown, but if lots of people refuse boosters that is where we will end up.

Redcart21 · 08/12/2021 22:54

Have people lost their minds?
Wearing masks is hardly being restricted in life. Get over yourself. You are being asked to wear a mask not stay in a locked house

PuzzledObserver · 08/12/2021 22:56

@Watsername

I don't understand the logic ... Genuinely... Why cancel getting the booster because of restrictions? How does that follow...?
Exactly. They have described these restrictions as temporary, to buy us time to get the booster out to more people. Because, you know, it looks like 3 doses is actually very effective at preventing serious illness and death, including from omicron.

So everyone saying there’s no point having a booster because there are restrictions - your decision NOT to have a booster will PROLONG the restrictions you hate so much.

ConfusedParticle · 08/12/2021 22:56

So if i have every jab i am supposed to (2 so far) will i ever be able to learn to drive, get a skills course done at college and ever see the dentist again?
Because i cant see how long this can go on for.
If you have fully completed your life and have all that you need already, covid restrictions wont harm you - unless you need to join an NHS waiting list, perhaps.

And yes, we were told that restrictions would lessen the more jabs we had. This cant go on into infinity unless you are sealed in an ivory tower. The story changes every month and nothing ever improves.

Interesting that we can still go on holiday but the really important stuff is at a standstill.

I really feel for the young.

Blinky21 · 08/12/2021 22:57

Nope everyone I know is actively trying to get the booster!
