Literally everyone posting about refusing the boosters now after he back and forth with restrictions and the government breaking the rules etc! I can't believe it!
Anyone else seeing the same thing?
I wonder if it is like this in other countries who have reintroduced restrictions etc.

This is not my view btw, I'm happy to take my booster but obviously very annoyed with new restrictions too. So hope my sons Nativity isn't cancelled :(

@HariboMaroon

I just can’t be arsed now to get my booster, I was only up for vax to get my life back!

I’m early 30s and now just think what is the fucking point? If we didn’t have restrictions I would absolutely get my booster but now I’m just demoralised.

What’s the point, I’ve been exposed to covid loads of times now and quite frankly im still here and very much alive.

Agreed. Only I'm a fair bit older than you and still think there's no fucking point.

Your posts are absolutely ridiculous. Next level.[/quote]
Sooooo. Why do you think we are being encouraged to get vaccines?
It’s not about individual health, it’s about keeping infection levels down so that the nhs is not overwhelmed.

If you don’t get that then you haven’t been paying attention.

bumbleymummy · 08/12/2021 22:26

@Iggly well ‘the science’ is currently worried that the vaccine doesn’t protect against the new omicron variant so of course it makes perfect sense to implement vaccine passports Hmm. The more sensible option, if they were genuinely concerned about spread in certain venues, would be to require negative tests from everyone.

HariboMaroon · 08/12/2021 22:27

@tocas

After a double vaccination and a recent bout of covid do you really think I would get hospitalised in my early 30s

Incredibly unlikely. Like I said if they came to my door and gave it to me, then fine but I won’t be making a special trip out for it.

The levels of anxiety on this board is immense.

Benjispruce5 · 08/12/2021 22:28

The booster is to keep you put of hospital not just to get your life back. If you want either of those two things, how is refusing to reduce risk going to help?? Grow up!

Watsername · 08/12/2021 22:28

I don't understand the logic ... Genuinely... Why cancel getting the booster because of restrictions? How does that follow...?

TortolaParadise · 08/12/2021 22:29

Thanks @ Iggly - I really could not remember!

And “the science” is showing that a booster is important as the first two jabs will wane.

However a lot of people won’t be eligible for the booster yet, and being double jabbed is ok protection until then.

So a vaccine passport makes sense.

Personally I don’t know why people are being so ridiculous about it. There are worse things that this government is doing.

FflosFfantastig · 08/12/2021 22:30

The fewer people who have the boosters the stronger and more limiting the restrictions will be

There are still limits and restrictions for those vaccinated. Example, cancelled gigs. These are gigs you could only access with a Covid pass. The Covid pass supposedly being the great enabler. Enabling things to go ahead in a 'safe' environment. Reducing the spread. You were deemed safe to enter... you could enjoy your freedom earned by your pass and doing the 'right thing'. Cancelled them anyway 🙃

Surely people can't still be believing that things are going back to normal via vaccinations.

If everyone rushed out and got vaccinated tomorrow you wouldn't be getting your freedoms back.

Spongeboob · 08/12/2021 22:30

Seriously. Why is this even a thing? Fuck the tories, get your booster. Its not like they're in charge of the fucking virus. Do what you want this Xmas, they fucking did last year. Get your booster, it makes fucking sense. They are showboating the divide between them and us, always have been, why risk your own health because these dickheads got outed again?

It’s not about you. It’s about minimising the spread to those who are more likely to end up in hospital.
Reduce that spread and you have less people in hospital.

MarshaBradyo · 08/12/2021 22:31

I want to the booster I find it so strange that people are having this reaction

LemonSwan · 08/12/2021 22:31

early 30s - had the first vax in first week Dec 2020 and March 2020 so very much due the booster for a long time now.

Currently pregnant and been umming and ahhing over when to get the booster so I can have good coverage for third trimester. A month ago I thought that was 6 months, now its apparently only around 3.

I am honestly completely conflicted. I am at more risk now being pregnant. But I dont feel like any of the info/ restrictions or anything are adding up to me. Ie. ahh omicron problem because vaccine potentially doesn't work therefore everyone take more vaccine.

It all seems so contradictory and political and theres barely a thread of reason, logic or science in this that I can see. It all seems more to do with manipulating the news cycle and a bloody party a year ago.

So I am confused, irritated, and just want the raw data for me to make a decision. Yet the raw data also isn't answering in enough detail the things I want to know.

MadinMarch · 08/12/2021 22:31

I'm delighted by my booster. I think the government are absolute cocks but that doesn't stop me wanting to keep myself healthy!

Me too!
Why wouldn't I want to be as protected as possible?

shinynewapple21 · 08/12/2021 22:33

Some strange points of view .

I've had my booster and gladly - because I hope this will help protect me from being seriously ill with Covid .

I am quite happy to be vaccinated, do LFTs and stick a mask on when I go out if this means I can continue to meet with friends and family family and go out for meals, cinema or on holiday . And also to feel safer when visiting my mum .

blameitonthecaffeine · 08/12/2021 22:33

I don't really understand some of the views expressed here - what if the booster stops you getting the virus or gives you milder symptoms or none at all? Isn't that a benefit to you? I'm ill with Covid at the moment and its not exactly a laugh

Depends on your experience of both though, doesn't it. I had almost asymptomatic Covid (slight sniffle for 2 days and a mild headache for a few hours) but was really ill for 3 days after both vaccines (headache, vomiting, fever, muscle aches). Given the choice of another bout of Covid or another vaccine I would take Covid in a heartbeat.

I will have the booster because my husband is a surgeon and would never let me hear the end of it if I don't. But I'm not looking forward to it.

Exactly this!

I’m actually not worried about covid from my own point of view. But I know being vaccinated reduces the risks to others as well, so jab away.

Stopsnowing · 08/12/2021 22:33

Have your boosters. Protect your health and be happy when you realise that you will need a third jab to travel freely

RedToothBrush · 08/12/2021 22:34

I'm not getting my booster will be forgotten next year when trying to book a summer holiday by those who don't fancy a wet weekend in Bognor.

Or there will be screams about how unfair foreigners are, for having all these awful rules (which we also have here).

People who can't distinguish between politics and measures to protect their health aren't big on logic.

Warhertisuff · 08/12/2021 22:35

@Nancydrawn

Pfizer's reported today that the booster means that it works very well against omicron.

If you want to get omicron for kicks, I suppose you can have at it.

But why you wouldn't get a safe, free, quick prevention from getting sick I'll never understand.

Indeed, not getting a booster you'd previously planning on getting because the Government have implemented some mild restrictions in the face of a new variant seems a senseless case of cutting off your nose to spite your face.
TractorAndHeadphones · 08/12/2021 22:35

@EileenGC

I’m in an EU country and there wasn’t as much panic as you describe amongst my friends, relatives, colleagues, or social media contacts, when they tightened a bit the restrictions. Maybe 3 people out of 1,300+ FB friends posted something negative about it? (Yes, I know the logarithm only shows stuff from half of those people.)

Mind you, nothing was reintroduced, because we kept sensible restrictions in place throughout summer and autumn.

I’m getting my booster next week. I’m in my early 20s and not in a risk job. I couldn’t have been happier when I voluntarily signed up for it. I’m travelling a lot in the new year and don’t fancy being slightly more at risk of catching Covid this winter.

How do you get it - isn't it only for over 40's still?
shinynewapple21 · 08/12/2021 22:36

@nocoolnamesleft

The government is made up of mendacious cunts. But I was delighted to receive my booster.

Absolutely!

spinachpie · 08/12/2021 22:36

Yeah! I'm not going to get my booster because that'll teach that covid a lesson!!

That'll learn them!

Incredibly unlikely, but possible. It's not like you've got to go to timbuktu.
Bizarre.

HariboMaroon · 08/12/2021 22:38

@tocas

I’m glad you agree with me. Incredibly unlikely, therefore not that bizarre after all.
