Literally everyone posting about refusing the boosters now after he back and forth with restrictions and the government breaking the rules etc! I can't believe it!
Anyone else seeing the same thing?
I wonder if it is like this in other countries who have reintroduced restrictions etc.

This is not my view btw, I'm happy to take my booster but obviously very annoyed with new restrictions too. So hope my sons Nativity isn't cancelled :(

@DramaLlllama

Ffs - we’ve been asked to wear masks and work from home. Its not bloody lockdown!
yet
SecretKeeper1 · 08/12/2021 22:18

No hysteria on my social media either. Have the vaccine / don’t have it, whatever. Just don’t complain if a) you get Covid or b) there’s a full lockdown.

Lorriestakingppe · 08/12/2021 22:18

Nope, i don't have friends stupid enough not to have the booster

Iggly · 08/12/2021 22:18

@milly74

Would you like the nhs to crumble this winter?

Would you like people to continue to die needlessly because hospitals are stuffed full of covid patients?

Stop being so ridiculous

@EileenGC

I’m in an EU country and there wasn’t as much panic as you describe amongst my friends, relatives, colleagues, or social media contacts, when they tightened a bit the restrictions. Maybe 3 people out of 1,300+ FB friends posted something negative about it? (Yes, I know the logarithm only shows stuff from half of those people.)

Mind you, nothing was reintroduced, because we kept sensible restrictions in place throughout summer and autumn.

I’m getting my booster next week. I’m in my early 20s and not in a risk job. I couldn’t have been happier when I voluntarily signed up for it. I’m travelling a lot in the new year and don’t fancy being slightly more at risk of catching Covid this winter.

We might be neighbours. Agree wit your post. No panic, just sensible stuff so that we’ll be able to cope with what might come later.

If others are refusing boosters can people who actually want it get it earlier?

Good news then

Iggly · 08/12/2021 22:20

Stop being so ridiculous

How am I being ridiculous? That’s why we have measures - to take the pressure of the NHS.

HopeYourHighHorseBucks · 08/12/2021 22:20

The people that I've seen posting on Facebook etc aren't anti vaxx. Have had both jabs etc but were only getting the booster because it was advised by the government (and scientists of course) but now more stuff is coming out I don't think they can be arsed. Most aren't scared of catching covid, so aren't going to go out their way to be jabbed. I'm sure if they rolled out a doorstep jab people would take it up.

The best way to get people to comply is good leadership and honesty. Our government has shown once again they possess neither. Compliancy will fall for a while but Im sure will pick up again.

ThatNameAgainItsMrPlow · 08/12/2021 22:20

@tulips27

A lot will be paid troll farms in Russia/similar who have been trying to undermine our efforts all along.
Good to know Russian bot conspiracies are still going strong. I thought that paranoia had died down.
KaleJuicer · 08/12/2021 22:20

Everyone I know has had or is getting their booster. I guess because they’re intelligent enough to draw a distinction between govt buffoonery and a public health intervention that will help them and/or their family and community.

LittlePearl · 08/12/2021 22:20

@andi62

I'm double jabbed and I've just had covid, becoming a human pin cushion (non stop top up jabs) is not very appealing.
Three injections in the space of a few months is hardly 'becoming a human pin cushion'. How on earth is it 'non-stop jabs'?

I honestly don't understand the big drama about having another jab. it's a few minutes out of one day, that's all. The way some people talk you'd think they were being asked to run a marathon.

loovgdj · 08/12/2021 22:20

Really conflicted by the booster. Early 30s had my booster a month ago. A week later developed myocarditis even though I have never had any such condition before. However, DH also caught covid a week ago and so far I haven't caught it. Even though we share a bedroom and a bathroom. Not really sure what to make of it and whether I want to eventually get another booster

Nancydrawn · 08/12/2021 22:21

Pfizer's reported today that the booster means that it works very well against omicron.

If you want to get omicron for kicks, I suppose you can have at it.

But why you wouldn't get a safe, free, quick prevention from getting sick I'll never understand.

HariboMaroon · 08/12/2021 22:21

@Iggly

Pot kettle…..
Your posts are absolutely ridiculous. Next level.

NeedAHoliday2021 · 08/12/2021 22:22

No my feeds are nothing like to describe… mostly panto related and Christmas trees. I only have one antivax covid denier friend and she doesn’t really share that on social because she runs a business.

slaybell · 08/12/2021 22:22

I will have the booster, but I'm waiting until they've developed it to increase its efficacy against omicron. Otherwise what's the point?

I'd rather the vaccines went to places like SA to prevent this happening again but as it stands we are just going to be on and off this merry-go-round.

Cherrytart23 · 08/12/2021 22:22

I went on the gov site to book vacs for my ds13 not long after he was doing his conference speach and had to wait in a que I was number 5565 took me half hour before I could get on the site to book. I have been trying daily to book his roughly same time for a week now just to get somewhere local to me never had to wait in a que before. So more people are definitely booking maybe not for booster but certainly for 1st vaccine.

Pawprintpaper · 08/12/2021 22:22

@AllKnowingGerbil

I think differently. I want my booster regardless of our feckless government. Mostly cos I'd rather not end up hospitalised by covid.
This…

Also, if a more virulent variant suddenly arrived I’d rather not have waning immunity and be at the back of the queue to get caught up.

pointythings · 08/12/2021 22:22

My social media feeds aren't going wild with anti booster sentiment, but MN is a bit conspiracy batshit tonight.

bumbleymummy · 08/12/2021 22:23

@EileenGC whereabouts are you? Most EU countries that kept restrictions all summer are now seeing massive peaks so I’m not sure that really worked out for them. England are actually doing pretty well in comparison.

tocas · 08/12/2021 22:23

" I can't see the benefit of accepting a booster"

Not even the benefit of reducing your chances of being hospitalised with covid?!

user53782991 · 08/12/2021 22:24

@Iggly they aren’t don’t worry

Benjispruce5 · 08/12/2021 22:25

I don’t use social media so no idea apart from MN. I just don’t get what get to your booster has to do with being annoyed with restrictions. I’ll do what I can to limit spread and be sensible. I’ve had my booster but work in classrooms daily so I’m pretty surrounded by the young unvaccinated. I do t go to clubs but I do go to pubs and restaurants and am happy to LFT or show my pass as it means everyone is a little safer. I think everyone needs to calm down.
As fo the government, why is anyone surprised? They are twerps, stop voting for them. Listen to the science only.
